Do you happen to know how they do it in hollywood? I have some expensive cameras and lenses and I was assuming it was done maybe with a special lens filter or something. I'm still searching for answers. Any idea? This was a good video btw.
@frantic0466 smh, what expensive lens and cameras do you have?? just curious lol, and the title is ANAMORPHIC LENS?!?!?!?!?!?!?? which creates the FLARE! =) good luck, with your........expensive equipment :/
@dobunz Interesting how you actually seem somewhat offended by my comment. My comment was not to brag. The equipment I have is expensive, at least it is to me. I was just looking for answers at that time because I had just begone my search. I found what I was looking for.
I've actually come to the conclusion that it's impossible to view comments on youtube without coming across people who feel the need to offend other people.. it's really sad that you both feel that way. There's a lot of proud people out there.
That aside, cool effect. When you say 'created a lens flare', could you break that down for me? That'd be awesome, cheers
But isn't no lens flare more realistic if it's supposed to be like you're looking through someone's eyes? I hate how, in many games, there's a lens flare, even though you're supposed to be looking through someone's eyes. I don't see lens flares when I look at a light bulb...
@GeekingForJesus i just cant believe you're so hung up on in the lack of "realism" in the subject of "looking through someones eyes in FPS games".
you dont have to turn your whole head to look at something one inch outside your vision in real life but you arent complaining about that.
it's a game. it's not supposed to be like actual life? its an approximation - with some stylish exaggeration thrown in to make it look pretty and you feel good. now get over it or sell your console.
@GeekingForJesus it doesnt affect me. however when you choose to post your irrational and ill-informed upset on a public form with world-wide visibility, where you incidentally give your stupidity a global audience, you only confirm your idiocy by not anticipating that someone will call you out. Shut up.
@thebearclawjones I'm so stupid... yet I'm apparently worth your time. If I'm so stupid, doesn't that make you equally stupid? And stop trying to sound smart and sophisticated. If you want to attempt that, correct punctuation might be a good place to start. You want to go again?
@GeekingForJesus lol, the first is just the kind of simplistic rationalization i would expect an idiot to make. and i'm not trying to sound anything, which invalidates your conclusion on that - as if it wasn't trite, stupid and largely irrelevant to start with as the entire world is aware that youtube is a grammar-relaxed zone and that calling it is the last refuge of the intellectually bankrupt...
everything you've said here has come to nothing. again. dont you get tired of that? lol. shut up.
try using magicbullet look 1.4, then anamorphic light settings when you create a look. no need to track etc so makes your workflow a lot shorter/quicker
firstly i created a lens flare and changed the color to a blue hue then i set the center point to a null object and parented it to the null , then added a shape layer and added a blur to stretch it to the comp size and then i added brightness using color correction (colorama) and a few tiny tweaks to make it your own, id recoment using 32 bits per channel as the glows are fantastic in 32 bits per channel. but 8's ok, :) its is only a test ill post an advanced one up later this week

cmon...the effect is completly nonsense in this scene

why so many thumbs down? he achieved the effect as stated in the title of the video.

Waaay too intense.
And there are easier ways to achieve a good looking result without having to specify and/or track any points.
Just use the brightness of the original footage, and contract the edges of that to create a hotspot.

@GeekingForJesus funny. I do sometimes especially when its dark and my eyes are tired

it kind of makes sense in a game like crysis 2 since your eyes are covered by a visor so its like a lens
XxWolfpack247xX 8 months ago
@XxWolfpack247xX That makes more sense though. But I really hate it when they add a lens flare to a third-person RPG or shooter.
GeekingForJesus 8 months ago
it doesnt make sense for a game thats in first person but it does in 3rd person since your a camera not looking through the persons eyes
XxWolfpack247xX 8 months ago
@XxWolfpack247xX No, wait. I agree. I got mixed up there for a second, lol. I meant 1st person.
