i love this. i'm not african and i live in england but i had a nigerian lady come up to me once while i was wearing my daughter in a connecta carrier and say, "it's so nice to see, that's how we carry them at home" and i said, "we're copying you!". but i personally find wrap slings too complicated and had a go with my son at this method with a blanket just a second ago- so easy, quick and secure! will be popping out to get some different fabrics to try out so i can continue carrying my daughter!
@Misaquitomagico you need a wrapper a piece of cloth to tie the child to the back, its very common in west africa.. am not so good at it but when i had my own child many yrs ago my mother in law came from home and she was an EXPERT at it.lol! the child stays close to you and it works cos if you slip and fall the child is on your back not your front.. too, besides in the village, the women in the fields us it to carry their babies while they work the farms.. to this day cheapest mode of transport
@CooKieMonStar07 Yes u can do it.. I tried it today with my 4months old.. and I know a Ghanian lady that did it when her baby's are like 1 month old.. Good luck trying
@CooKieMonStar07 you can wrap your baby when he or she is only a few weeks old. You just have to adjust the height of the cloth on the baby's head and neck for appropriate support. The woman in the video has the wrap below the neck because the child is old enough to support his own head.
This is great, when I saw the material, I was thinking Nigeria, because that is where we are living. I just had a baby and I am going to carry my baby this way when she gets a little older :) thanks for sharing..
Really nice! No neck support though, I'd be afraid that the head snaps back if I stumble.
