Anyone, please help me! I have a strat and it is in tune when playing open strings and low stuff but is out of tune on higher notes!!! Please tell me how to fix!!!!
This guitar is pretty as hell, and sounds so great. I don't know what is the reason, selected ash body or this hand wound pickups but it's one of the best sounding Strat I've ever heard. And I've heard really many of them. Killer guitar, I hope I'll get one someday. If I'll find it somewhere...
another nice video from pro guitar.com. Just one question: This is supposed to be a 58 model, but the candy apple red finish didn´t appear before somewhere in the early 60s, is that right? So the color actually isn´t correct for a 50s model? Or are there any originally old 50s Strats with this beautiful custom color?
@blackberryblossom - This guitar was built to resemble a '58 that had been refinished at some point in it's life, hence the color and pickguard. Hope that clears things up. Thanks!
@MitchRulzWorld - DRRi (notice the little "i") is generally understood to mean Deluxe Reverb Reissue by internet guitar people. We're not sure why. Why are Strat bridges called "tremolos" when they are really vibratos? Somebody screwed it up a long time ago and it's been that way ever since. I like "intergalactic" though...gotta get me one of those.
sorry to say that I don't think i would buy this guitar. I will stick with my 92 deluxe plus. It sounds cool which is the important things but the worn look seems kind of posserish.
@TwoBucksShy - Fender Custom Shop 57 Tweed Twin. Just a background prop though, Andy was playing through the Fender DRRi in this vid. Thanks for watching!
@marchenoir44 funny thing is i could probably build that at home for less with a nice american standard!! even for less, but still i dont think it would sound exactly the same. The Fender Customshops are lovely
Dunno why Abigail is reverred as such a legend in fender, it was purely by fluke she made good pickups because she used to underwind them sop she could get more done and paid more!! funny really
@DarkDao You couldn't be more wrong! Custom shop guitars are more closely related to the old ways of production, sans relicing of course. They also use Abby pickups, how is that not "real" Fender?
@mean0machine0 yeah I love a little bit of vintage looking, some scratches in the finish and vintage hardware but I like it better when it ages by time.
@GuitarAriaFreak1010 yeah same here dude, it gives each mark on the guitar its own little story that you can remember and it just makes you love the guitar a whole lot more. some people are just too lazy to do it themselves lol
Why does the wear on all these "worn" guitars always seem to be in weird places?
I have just watched most of this video and very rarely do Andy's fingers get any where near the wear marks on the scratch plate. It looks like it has been strummed between the neck and the neck pick up to get worn where it is.
The Road Worn series don't even have any wear at all at the twelfth fret! Am I the only person in the world who plays E minor Pentatonic and E blues scales at the twelfth fret?!?!?!
@TEMPA01 "Road Worn" is a joke. The wear areas do not fool anyone. Why would anyone in their right mind pay a premium for some minimum wage dude with a dog chain and a piece of sandpaper to ruin a new guitar finish? Daddy's little rich kid - yeah this is for you punk. You want 'road worn' - go play bar gigs for 30 yrs.
@TEMPA01 It's worn on the right of the neck p/u because it's meant to be wear from aggressive strumming that catches the pickguard after the pick passes over the strings. The wear above the volume and tone is meant to be from sweaty hands repetitively having turned the knobs up and down. The minimal wear by the bridge p/u is presumably meant to be from when the guitar has been played with a player resting his/her arm on the guitar therefore leaving the hand naturally coming to the bridge area...
@TEMPA01 Many of the old 50s and 60s strats that are beat up that WEREN'T used by musicians on the road and stuff were thrown into closets without a case and drug around everywhere they went.
that's a nice sounding strat :D . hey Andy .. can you let us know what pedals you're using during the demos ? ( with those neat bubble quote things ) i know you want to let us know :) when you kick in the delay on this demo .. it sounds awesome !! etc .
@tylerdwells Surely it feels like someone elses sex? :D But seriously I can understand pre-wearing the 'feel' but cosmetically I find it ridiculous. Surely the whole thing about a guitar that's worn to your playing and personality is that it's your personality and playing rather than Humberto following the factory instructions...

Lordy the '58 sound righteous though. There's no denying that.
