curse doesn't make a pokemon harder to catch. The only factors that affect the catch chance are the pokemon's catch rate (registeel's is 3), it's status (sleep and frozen are twice as easy to catch as a pokemon not sleeping or frozen, and paralysis, burn, and poison each increase the catch chance by 50%), and it's current and maximum hp's.

@turbodude765 No, when a poke ball is thrown, a random number is generated. Depending on what the number is, it may go to the next shake, or fail. People have just been imagining in their head that since they mashed the A or B button their Pokemon was caught. The day there is some official proof that mashing a button will increase the catch rate is the day I believe that.

And it's odd, a lot of people are saying they took a while to catch the regis on platinum, but it only took me a few duskballs.

I just used a Gallade with False Swipe and Hypnosis, and it only took no more than 11 turns. =/

So if you're having trouble catching them, try using a pokemon that can learn a move that your sure won't kill it, then use hypnosis/paralyze, [never burn/poison/confuse] then just chuck some dusk balls at it.
