Hi mate, great guide, as a complete novice though, how do I take off the dud capacitors? Do I have to remove the circuit board they are attached to and desolder them?
Good Video series. A lot of folks seem to be directly blaming the capacitors. The problem is mainly due to set design, placing the capacitors too close to the heat sinks so that the capacitors have a real hard time! Unfortunately for the designers, the capacitors have to be close to the parts mounted on the heat sinks. The best they can do is to mount all in such a way that each gets a fair share of ventilation, some bad designs cook the capacitors in the rising hot air from the heat sinks.
good job on the fix... my 40" Sammy has had the clicking for the last month or so.and sometimes started up after clicking a funny colour and once started up in Russian!! haha. Do you think the capacitor change will solve my issues? I have not got a problem doing it just thought I would ask your advice. It just clicks constantly now and just before that HDMI port 3 stopped working
Thanks very much for this mate I was reluctant to have a go until I watched your vid nice n easy replacement just think you need to mention that the capacitors are polarised and if fitted the wrong way round it won't work I didn't have this problem as I have a bit of experience with electronics but someone might thanks again
hi mate, excellent vid! My 46" LCD started clicking and now does not come on at all. I have 3 samsungs and I wont be buying from them again. I am from Manchester, you mention Bolton in your vid, if I pay you would you be able to fix mine? Seriously. I would rather pay someone like you who is helping ppl over samsung who are ripping ppl off... let me know mate!
hi mate, I actually rang Samsung up to get a quote and also with the intention of giving them an ear bashing - but the lady was very helpful and they actually sent out their engineers to come and fix it for FREE! Result =)
That clicking sound just happen to me also....Your video show me what was the problem that made my tv click like that. I wouldn't dare to opened the tv up and do it myself so do you have any suggestion to where I can take and fix it and how much it would probably cost me.... thanx!!!
A big thankyou for making this video, we were just about to go and buy a new tv, when i found your video, and we managed to fix it in no time :) BIG THANKYOU!
looks like the same set I have, mine clicks all the time when pluged in,even if I dont press the power button, no flashing led, do you think its the same problem? thanks
OMG WIZZY!! thx sooo much!!! you save me over $400.. so easy... takes only 20 minutes,, i take the bord to a computer guy and replace capacitos (4 total) for me for only $25.. and it works like new...
My 46 inch lcd just out of warranty started clicking on and off for days now it won't come on at all. Less then 15 months and the tv takes a dump is unacceptable. I'm screwed along with thousands of other samsung customers with the same problem. Put samsung tv clicking into a google search and read the truth about these junk tvs.
Hey wizzy i have a 63 samsung love it no problems (yet) Just want to thank you in advance appreciate you skills and help for this informative video. Be proud you are a rare beast thanks Pip.

harrygamer 1 year ago
@harrygamer It could be that you have solered the caps in the wrong way around because they are polerized and only work one way.

@wizzywigterry we checked but now we sent it to a tv repair dude and he said we needed a new panel

god they always breakdown.

thanks, we will try it tomorrow, the tv hasn't worked for weeks and I was about to go buy another rather than pay $300 to fix,

Thanks much for posting the videos. I had my doubts but it worked! Brilliant.
With help I was able to repair my 18 month old 32" Samsung.
Quoted $300 US just to have them look at it..

@GungaWhichIsNice
I ended up spending $20. It would have been $2 but I purchased a soldering iron (which I don't know how to use). My father-in-law did the soldering.
I only needed to replace one of the caps. It was a 10 volt cap so I upped it to a 25v. That was so easy I want to try it again - on a different TV.
Thank you.
