To bad Nike does not know anything about natural running form. This shoe has a thick heel. It is asking for a heel strike. If ones running form was "Natural" they would not need that thick sole. Vibram is a good shoe though. Barefoot is best, but from time to time a little protection for the flesh is needed. Nike is useless.

@justus005 I think the commercial clearly states its for a more natural run, basing off the flexability of the shoe, and that is the purpose; the foot moving with out the restrictions that is usually caused by other shoes. I have a pair of these, the heel isn't that thick.. and it's also kind of a bonus. Not everyone lands perfect with each step so the heel really helps absorb the shock for my bad knees.

Thinking of starting parkour myself soon. However, apparently, when doing wallruns and such, Nike Free's get totally shredded. So many people apparently use Nike Darts.

Despite this, I bought a pair of these today (5.0). Easiest shoe purchase I ever made. I'm going to use these for normal runs, and probably get darts for parkour.

hey i just bought these and i'm wondering, since i'm supposed to be wearing orthodox, do you think it's a bad idea to run in these shoes? seeing as you cannot put your orthodox in them as that defeats the purpose...

why wear orthodics? i personally believe the more natural your foot is able to move, the better. that is the point of nike free. it strengthens the muscles in your feet and lower leg so that you will probably be able to run without your orthodics in your normal shoes. i dont agree with what most shoe companies are doing by creating shoes the control your pronation. its like putting your foot in a cast, the muscles dont get used and your foot weakens causing injuries. nike free is the way to go

Hey, to be honest as a podiatrist and a runner myself, its probably not a good idea for you to use this shoe for high milage. For that purpose it only suits a very small population. It does depend on what the aim of your orthotics are though.. Maybe ask your podiatrist. Like many others have said, these shoes aim to strengthen the intrinsic muscles of your foot but are not designed to be worn for long periods of time. Train in other shoes and wear these for short runs/casual etc that will help

I have a 10k run coming up and I can't seem to wear the shoes for more than 7km without feeling blisters coming on, so I stop and walk or take them off completely because I can see the redness of the blister appearing...

Yea I think if you are getting blisters in the shoes that is a likely sign that they are not right for you. I think these shoes are only actually designed for about 15-30min at a time so maybe use that as a rough guide, if the run will take you longer than that maybe dont wear them
