  • We played this in our band in the 60s - The Consorts - hence my name - The Storm Consort

  • @thestormconsort ..i.nteresting! An honour to meet you.

  • More Bass!

  • I bought this record when it came out, sadly in the pre Beatles era the industry dictated who would and who wouldn't be successful.

This was as good as anything that the Shadows were turning out at the time.

  • @62Bassman Great tune, and great recording quality.

  • Many thanks for posting this. We too used to perform it early sixties. Now go and listen to the flute solo for Knights in White Satin, 5 years later! WTF?!

  • @Bryt25 A pleasure. Must have been a great one to perform.

  • @Bryt25 great spot as you can pick out the flute solo notes. Well done mate. My first group I played bass in used to play this as when we set out couldnt find a singer so played most instrumentals of the day, Ventures, Fentones, John Barry and of course the Shadows

  • im going to sample this and make an underground hip hop masterpiece

not the shitty embarrassing pop music they try to call hip hop these days

  • You can hear an updated version of this great tune by the UBHANK band. Just search you tube for UBHANK.

  • @Classicpumps1 Thanks, I just did. They play a great version.

  • I think they do as well. UBHANK continues to play various Shadows conventions in Europe.

  • I love this era and this style. I've never heard of The Hunters before now. Had to subscribe!

  • @ObeyVonZip Thanks for the sub, and to The Hunters for their help!

  • I remember The Hunters on Brian Matthews Saturday Club. I always liked this track. Thanks for posting.

  • @multilinkacs My pleasure, a great track.

  • Thank you for posting this great instrumenta!

I used to play it in my band in the early 60's

  • @brucewinters52 My pleasure, and an honour to have you visit my channel. Just been enjoying your 'The Gypsy Beat' from 1962. Nice.

  • @SirBasildeBrush Glad you like it, thanks.

  • I have also been looking for this for nearly 40 years! Could not remember the group's name!

  • @timstanleick Pleased to help out - and in stereo!

  • Thanks a lot for posting. I have been looking for this song for years.

  • @wichtelhut Pleased to help out.

  • This sound reminds me back in time, when I was playing in a small band (Le Nuove Ombre, we did covers of the Shadows) and I play the drums.

    Grazie Sir

  • @FAUSTORICCARDO I'm impressed! Drummer in a band!

  • @SirBasildeBrush

    yes Sir, ah ah ah.

but unknow little band: we were 3 italians, 1 argentino(acustic). 3 chitarre 1 batteria

  • @FAUSTORICCARDO Sounds like the perfect mix...

  • I like it :-)

  • superbe post my friend basil thank you love it

  • Thumb up because you provided information and good pics. Above average instrumental, too, actually. I was thinking it sucked but it woke up--or I did.

  • @strandwolf Thanks for that thumb. Some more information - the tune was recorded as a complete performance with no overdubs, although it took about 20 takes.

  • @SirBasildeBrush Your channel is highclass, Sir. I got blocked and banned from a vintage rock channel by its proprietor because I criticized him for uploading hundreds of tunes with absolutely no background info, plus running ads. Keep on keeping on!
