@TheKuttuz but he copied it for good and gave us a memorable movie. Many if us wouldn't have watched the original if Priyadarshan made a decision that he will not copy any movie..Not only for Thalavattom, many more gems...

This movie is rather a poor adaptation of "One flew over the Cuckoo's nest"....jack nicholson's performance was way better than mohanlal's....
and story is also better

This is not any adaptation of the English movie you have referred, you have either not understood the movie nor the theme. You cannot preclude by drawing similarities
