Kit Mambo:"The way to beat Rene is to take a quick lead and break his concentration." *butt wobbling in front of Rene* *Rene not seeing the tree in front of him as he stares* BAM! LOL!
Loved this movie since i was 10 when i saw this on HBO and loved it, i had a thing for Kit Mambo as i always had a thing for Catgirls since i saw Cleo from Heathcliff, M'ress from the Star Trek animated movie and of course Cheetara. There's just something about catgirls that makes them so appealing even in myths and legends just like mermaids, large fairies and elfen girls.
@Johnlindsey289 *high-fives* :D I'm only 24, but I've been attracted to animal toons since I was like 6... I think I had it bad for Ducky from Land Before Time. :P
Isn't it amazing how hot they use to make anthropomorphic cartoon animals in the 80s and 90s such as Kit Mambo, Cheetara on Thundercats, Cleo, Aishia Clan Clan on Outlaw Star, Minerva Mink, Julie Bruin with Bimbette and Margot Mallard on Tiny Toons, Angel on Rock and Rule, Rebecca on Talespin, the Swat Kat Girls and even Selina Kyle on that Batman TAS episode where she got transformed into an ACTUAL Cat-Woman were all hot.
Anybody know where i can get, download the Zoo Olympics in ENGLISH for fucking crying out loud all the ones on youtube are in greek or whatever it used to be aired in english.... Anybody?
they remake practically everything, why not this one? it deserves to be brought back on the big screen, for the nest generation of kids to love and remember it :) thanks so much for putting this up :)
why no? i see you wrote in another comment that if the original crew would do it, you would be ok with a remake? well so would i. i just didn t make myself clear enough ;)
@koppsr Ah, OK. But yeah, if the original crew did it, and that is was NOT 3D, as well as having Graham Gouldman of 10CC do the music again, then yes, I would be OK with a remake. However, Steven Liseberger works at Disney now, so unfortunately he as well as the original staff have to adhere to THEIR demands, instead of doing whatever they wanted to do when they had their own studio to make this movie back in 1979.
@furrys4life33 Yeah can't please anyone. I was just thinking of this film right now realizing it's probably the first time an otter was represented somewhat in an animated cartoon, since I can't recall seeing too many otters before this.
OMG!!! TY so much for uploading a HQ copy of this. I grew up watching this special years after it had aired. But it resonated just as much with me as a young kid in the mid-80's, as it did with the kids who originally caught it in 1980.
hey - swiftfur ... thanks for posting this. brought back memories. watched this on cable every time it was on. truly a forgotten classic. my childhood revisited, thanks again.
Okay, so I first found out about this on Wikipedia as I'm browsing through a list of animated features. I laughed upon finding the article, as I anticipated the worst. I get to here and actually see a few flickers of life early in the clip, but I dismiss them as lucky exceptions. And then the segment where Tatiana dances comes up, and you've got this lively, fluid motion and just enough exaggeration to justify even watching it. This was made in the 80s, a dark time for animation. I'm surprised.
Thank you so much for uploading this high quality stereo version of one of the most creative films ever made. The music, character design, animation, absurdity, humor and spirit ar timeless. I'll never tire of those segues!
Great quality and audio! Its always great to check out classic animation! Really makes me wish i had a timemachine, so i could go back and some of theese movies on the big screne! =]

@Matchugovsky Good memory.....this was the studio that would later produce TRON in 1982. Hope that Disney capitalizes on this and re-issues this for DVD and Blu-ray.
Dude I can't believe I actually found this. I remembered it on a whim and decided to see if youtube would have it and I'll be damned, thanks for the upload man!
@anonymuswere It played on HBO Family in Stereo at some point, I'm thinking the late 1990's. My brother grabbed a high quality videotape and recorded it for me, I transferred it to DVD like 5 years back and uploaded it here to share with everyone :) I also have a commercial release of this movie that actually played back in SLP or EP mode O.O I remember my VCR tracking couldn't be centered, and there was a "fuzzy" static that came across the middle of the screen every 20 seconds or so :P
Wow this is very cool. Just a little trivia: For those who do not have the TRON 20th Anniversary two disk DVD, This was Steven Lisberger's first full length feature film. They made this film right after they moved from Ohio to Santa Monica CA. The very first seconds from 0:00 to 0:28, this sequence and the character that smashes the disks together is your first glimpse of "Tron" after this film they started production on TRON which Disney the last film company they pitched to picked it up.

If I may blow your minds...
Animalympics was created by Steve Lisberger, best known for also creating TRON a few years later.
TRON featured Bruce Boxleitner, who was best known for acting in another CGI stepping stone, Babylon 5.
Cast and crew spent part of the 80s working on a show called Captain Power and the Warriors of the Future.
Animalympics inspired a great many old school furries, you know, before they got the "reputation".
Therefore, Furries created part of your culture.
Enjoy.

@SwiftFur It did not look like VHS quality and I did not even knew they have it on HBO Family channel! I did recall seen it on Disney Channel, but as I am aware the movie is on DVD but is in Germany, so that's what got my attention.
