  • Anyone have any idea what the guy said at 4:11?

  • Is 'Gene Hacksaw' the same guy who does 'Kent Brockman' on the Simpsons?

  • i bought this movie when i was younger cuz i thought it was trippy as hell and had to watch in while tripping :)

  • Thank you for posting this, Swiftfur. I used to love this movie growing up. I'd watch it every week on my home recorded VHS, haha.

  • The way to beat renee is to take an early lead and break his concentration. Translation: get in front of him and make him watch my butt, LMAO!!!

  • uploader you are a god among men, lol. From the intro music this brought me back to my childhood watching this on Showtime. Thank you by the ton.

  • @KodyBoy555

    Harry Sherer is the voice

  • Kit, Corlee and Tatyana are SO beautiful! And the same goes for Comtessa the hawk!

  • 2 animals disliked this video

  • In all honestly, I almost lost it when I saw how cute the mink was as well as her sexy poses.

  • @promisedeyes

She is quite cute for a mink

  • Kit Mambo:"The way to beat Rene is to take a quick lead and break his concentration." *butt wobbling in front of Rene* *Rene not seeing the tree in front of him as he stares* BAM! LOL!

  • Awsome vids! I was 11 when this came out. Brings back soooo many memories. THANK YOU!

  • While I'm aware doing this is a little infantile...

Thumbs up on this comment if you happened to catch this running on Disney Channel several years back.

  • ♥ .

  • WOW. This is absolutely the first time I have seen this in a good 30 years. Damn, it was a different time. :)

  • Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for this forever!

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • Loved this movie since i was 10 when i saw this on HBO and loved it, i had a thing for Kit Mambo as i always had a thing for Catgirls since i saw Cleo from Heathcliff, M'ress from the Star Trek animated movie and of course Cheetara. There's just something about catgirls that makes them so appealing even in myths and legends just like mermaids, large fairies and elfen girls.

  • 6:17 - Great accent there Shane Mosley!

  • loved this movie when i was a kid

  • @livetolovesome182 Same here, I loved it!

  • Ahaha... thumbs up if you're watching this because you're a furry. XD

  • @moccalou

Ok i admit i am a furry for 26 years since Thundercats and Heathcliff and Star Trek TAS's M'ress turned me into one, lol

  • @Johnlindsey289 *high-fives* :D I'm only 24, but I've been attracted to animal toons since I was like 6... I think I had it bad for Ducky from Land Before Time. :P

  • @moccalou

    Remember Cleo?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Not sure. What from?

  • @moccalou

Heathcliff, she's the cat-girl in legwarmers

  • @Johnlindsey289 Just found her! Woof! :O Or should I say MEOW! XD

  • @moccalou

Isn't it amazing how hot they use to make anthropomorphic cartoon animals in the 80s and 90s such as Kit Mambo, Cheetara on Thundercats, Cleo, Aishia Clan Clan on Outlaw Star, Minerva Mink, Julie Bruin with Bimbette and Margot Mallard on Tiny Toons, Angel on Rock and Rule, Rebecca on Talespin, the Swat Kat Girls and even Selina Kyle on that Batman TAS episode where she got transformed into an ACTUAL Cat-Woman were all hot.

  • Catherine D8 (calls for her)

(they had this tune in the game so I couldn't resist X3

  • Anybody know where i can get, download the Zoo Olympics in ENGLISH for fucking crying out loud all the ones on youtube are in greek or whatever it used to be aired in english.... Anybody?

  • This brings SO many memories back. Almost made me tear up a bit.

    Thanks man ^^

  • Tatyana is really a weasel.

  • this is why we have so many goddom furrys

  • @TekoMuto

    Dont' forget Thundercats

  • they remake practically everything, why not this one? it deserves to be brought back on the big screen, for the nest generation of kids to love and remember it :) thanks so much for putting this up :)

  • @koppsr No. Just no.

  • @MysticArksRevenge

why no? i see you wrote in another comment that if the original crew would do it, you would be ok with a remake? well so would i. i just didn t make myself clear enough ;)

  • @koppsr Ah, OK. But yeah, if the original crew did it, and that is was NOT 3D, as well as having Graham Gouldman of 10CC do the music again, then yes, I would be OK with a remake. However, Steven Liseberger works at Disney now, so unfortunately he as well as the original staff have to adhere to THEIR demands, instead of doing whatever they wanted to do when they had their own studio to make this movie back in 1979.

  • the only time thay showed a fox in this hole movie is at the vary begining =(. but i still love this video

  • @furrys4life33 Yeah can't please anyone. I was just thinking of this film right now realizing it's probably the first time an otter was represented somewhat in an animated cartoon, since I can't recall seeing too many otters before this.

  • This is a flashback to my childhood...

  • Havent seen this in years! LOL

  • I say this not often.. but the german synchronisation is much bether like the orginal ^^

  • so cute how the gymnast gets so excited about her score and then hurriedly straightens up :)

  • love

    this

movie!!! with the voice talents of 4 comedians, including the late great Gilda Radner!!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. For me, it is truly magical.

  • GOLDEN.

    FREAKING.

    YEARS.

  • Does dance count as gymnastics?

  • Hello, Tron!

  • WTF Her coach was going to hang himself

What kind of a message is that sending kids

  • OMG!!! TY so much for uploading a HQ copy of this. I grew up watching this special years after it had aired. But it resonated just as much with me as a young kid in the mid-80's, as it did with the kids who originally caught it in 1980.

  • @VernianProcess WTF OMG Even though the "kids" that saw this are grown up now lol I'm sure they'll be fine :p

  • :O okay thank you soo much i have been looking for this for over 11 years and that is no joke i just completely loved this as a child :D

  • WOW!! Thank you so much for posting this. One of my absolute favorites as a kid! You made my day...

  • awesome

  • aaaaah i remember this thanks for the upload.....i can download this and stitch it together with a tube catcher

cant beat the billy crystal voiced turkey lol

  • Oh my this is awesome. Thanks for posting. Haven't seen it since I was younger. Great then and now

  • I love this film, Did you guys catch the animated "Tron" with the flying discs at the start? Lisberger also did that film.

  • You can order it online from Germany. You just choose english in the options.

  • the coach is prepared for the worst lol

  • hey - swiftfur ... thanks for posting this. brought back memories. watched this on cable every time it was on. truly a forgotten classic. my childhood revisited, thanks again.

  • Oh my gosh I so loved this when I was little. I wish they would play it again.

  • At 6:17, Kit Mambo's face looks so sly and so cunning when she said her way of beating Rene Fromage in the Animalympic Marathon.

  • Hi, awesome and nostalgic film. I can see Brad Bird animated in this film, hehe, nice.

Minute 6:18 is that the map of europe? I'm not sure XD LOOOL

  • Ah, back when the Disney Channel was the Disney Channel this was on and we recorded it! Love you forever for uploading this!!!

  • @WootAnimefan the movie was released in 1980 and made by warner bros. disneys rival back then.

  • @hamsammich69 then why was it on the Disney channel in the mid 90's? because that's the channel we recorded it on.

  • @WootAnimefan i dont know. perhaps disney bought the rights to it, since its original production.

  • @hamsammich69 anyway, thank's for clearing that up. :)

  • @hamsammich69 correction! early 90's!

  • I love this when I was kid thanks

  • @Dummy288 no, but it's France...

  • Thank you. My favorite character was Kurt Wuffnur.

  • Thank you for posting this!

I knew Lisberger and hawked the cels from this film through the 80's.

I still have several hundred as well as a 16 MM print of the film. A really class act.

Steve never got over our boycott of the Olympics and how it killed the possibilities this film may have had.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • Okay, so I first found out about this on Wikipedia as I'm browsing through a list of animated features. I laughed upon finding the article, as I anticipated the worst. I get to here and actually see a few flickers of life early in the clip, but I dismiss them as lucky exceptions. And then the segment where Tatiana dances comes up, and you've got this lively, fluid motion and just enough exaggeration to justify even watching it. This was made in the 80s, a dark time for animation. I'm surprised.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this high quality stereo version of one of the most creative films ever made. The music, character design, animation, absurdity, humor and spirit ar timeless. I'll never tire of those segues!

  • To this day I call Keith Jackson..Keen Hacksaw.Harry is a voice genius along with Mel Blanc.

  • Love Harry Shearer's peerless impression of Keith Jackson!

  • Great quality and audio! Its always great to check out classic animation! Really makes me wish i had a timemachine, so i could go back and some of theese movies on the big screne! =]

  • greatest studio teaser ever! :D that was soime seriously trippy shit :D

  • Just wook at these wegs, No! these are not MY wegs, and wucky for me!

  • wow. very fine work on yours. the audio is great but big kudos on your video transfer. its high contrasty like others and you can actually see the color shades !

  • Awesome, haven't seen this since i was little, i never realized how sexualized it was when i was younger though. Answers a few questions :-)

  • @flyattic I'd Ask you what the questions were that got answered, but, maybe I don't wanna know XD

  • @flyattic What parts in this movie are so sexualized? XD

  • @Andybato Da Booty 6:11 to 6:17

  • @flyattic i did i was an early sterter lol

  • @flyattic Do tell!

  • @flyattic Steven Lisberger Studios if look closely to the animation of the man throwing discs. Rememeber he had a hand in making Walt Disney TRON. Check the credits you will find his name in it.

  • @msouthern99 Funny how he used his tron prototype for this..lol

  • Great animated movie. Brings back alot of memories. Great soundtrack!!! Does anyone else agree?

  • Kent Brockman?

  • @Applemask ...as voiced by Harry Shearer, yes :3

  • I so wish they would put this on DVD! I remember watching this when I was younger. Now my kids are the age that I watched this and I know they would LOVE it! Thanks for sharing!! ♥

  • TRON predecessor !

  • @Matchugovsky Good memory.....this was the studio that would later produce TRON in 1982. Hope that Disney capitalizes on this and re-issues this for DVD and Blu-ray.

  • Makes me feel soooooooo old

  • Man, I remember watching this as a kid.

And even after all these years, the question still plagues me:

...the HELL is up with Tatiana's 'fish eye' expression at 8:09!?

  • My, good memories. I was born in 1990 and I remember watching this... Such a great kids movie. The songs are great too :D

  • Dude I can't believe I actually found this. I remembered it on a whim and decided to see if youtube would have it and I'll be damned, thanks for the upload man!

  • If I may blow your minds...

Animalympics was created by Steve Lisberger, best known for also creating TRON a few years later.

TRON featured Bruce Boxleitner, who was best known for acting in another CGI stepping stone, Babylon 5.

Cast and crew spent part of the 80s working on a show called Captain Power and the Warriors of the Future.

Animalympics inspired a great many old school furries, you know, before they got the "reputation".

Therefore, Furries created part of your culture.

    Enjoy.

  • @NeuroManson

Let's not forget Star Trek TAS's M'ress (Remember that feline cutie from the Star Trek cartoon), Thundercats and Heathcliff

  • 30 years already? OMG! Thank you SwiftFur for putting this up here. Been ages since I've seen it. (Hugs) You're wonderful. :D

  • DUDE! where did you get a STEREO copy? i had a commercial release tape for years, and it was in mono.

  • @anonymuswere It played on HBO Family in Stereo at some point, I'm thinking the late 1990's. My brother grabbed a high quality videotape and recorded it for me, I transferred it to DVD like 5 years back and uploaded it here to share with everyone :) I also have a commercial release of this movie that actually played back in SLP or EP mode O.O I remember my VCR tracking couldn't be centered, and there was a "fuzzy" static that came across the middle of the screen every 20 seconds or so :P

  • @SwiftFur Is there a way I can get this quality?

  • Hell, I have a 16MM print of the film I got from Steve personally.

  • @anonymuswere Hell, I have a 16MM print of the film I got from Steve personally.

  • Wow this is very cool. Just a little trivia: For those who do not have the TRON 20th Anniversary two disk DVD, This was Steven Lisberger's first full length feature film. They made this film right after they moved from Ohio to Santa Monica CA. The very first seconds from 0:00 to 0:28, this sequence and the character that smashes the disks together is your first glimpse of "Tron" after this film they started production on TRON which Disney the last film company they pitched to picked it up.

  • I remember this from my childhood...

...the name 'Kit Mambo' (said in a heavy "African" accent) stayed in my head for ages for some strange reason(?)

I was pleasantly surprised when searching YouTube with just that name got me this!

  • Sigh, nostalgia...

  • @Zeanu

I know, the wonder days of the 80s and 90s

  • I watch this once as a kid haven't found it again till now yay

  • this was my fav cartoon back in the day, still love it , thanks for uploading as i looked everywhere since my vhs got taped over :(

  • they remade everything from the 1980's why not this. I would love to see and animal version of Michael Phelps and Bolt. Who with me think this would make a great series on cartoon network.

  • @dusktiger112

I completely agree. But hell what good is a series for Animalympics without not only the supervision of Steven Lisberger but Graham Gouldman's music as well & keeping in the spirit of the original feature film, no foul ups like they did with CN's version of George Of The Jungle.

  • @AuronTsubaki85 I agree. If they want Animalympics to return again, Graham Gouldman of 10cc shall return to do the music, as well as having Steven Liseberger to direct and create the sequel. However, now that Liseberger works at Disney, I don't see that happening anytime.

  • Dude thanks for uploading this! Brings back good memories :)

  • I remember this as a child....it just crossed my mind and I'm glad to see it uploaded on youtube

  • I never saw this listed on hbo it was only on disney then scrapped your tape must be older or it was shown when hbo just started having more than one channel

  • Thanks a TON for this. I love this movie!

  • Kit Mambo is my new favorite thing.

  • @RayesArmstrong

I always did thought she was sexy for a long time, don't you think?

  • Oh lawd, im old. XD

  • Are you selling copies of your DVD you made from this? I have ALWAYS loved this film and it was a staple of my HBO summertime viewing! I'd love to have a DVD to show my son as I think he'd go crazy for it! Let me know!

  • This Movie i wished i Saw years ago. Its got comedy, style, art, and adventure and Honor in it

I shall be happy to hunt this video and add it to my collection ^^

  • This may be one of the most underrated/forgotten about animated films of all time.

  • Oh man, have'nt seen this for a long time, mint!

    Thanks for this

  • Wow! This was something I really liked when I was little. Thank you for the uploading efforts. I only knew one kid who had this and we'd always watch it during sleep overs. Then it just fell off the face of the earth and I gradually forgot. WOW!

  • This quality is absolutely amazing. Better than the video quality I watched as a kid, in fact. Thanks so much for this upload of a seriously good film. :D

  • Can you get this on DVD?

  • @sygo7g I think 'robatsea2009' uploaded a promo of the show when it first aired on NBC a while back but I'm pretty sure that it got taken off by him you could ask him but I think that's what happened

  • @sygo7g ITA with you 100% that would have been great if someone had taped it and posted it up here

  • How you got this? If is not TV and does not appears VHS quality, you must have the DVD from Germany, which is quite hard to find. Am I right?

  • @caa1000 Nope. This is VHS quality (look at the line at the bottom of the picture), however, it was taped when it was on HBO Family quite a few years back. I converted it to DVD from VHS, then encoded it at 100% quality for youtube.

  • @SwiftFur It did not look like VHS quality and I did not even knew they have it on HBO Family channel! I did recall seen it on Disney Channel, but as I am aware the movie is on DVD but is in Germany, so that's what got my attention.

  • @SwiftFur Thank you

  • I've seen a promo of this when it was on NBC back in February of 1980 but I have seen it on The Disney Channel as well this was very cool thanks:)

  • One of the best movies I seen as a kid!
