Dear Hollywood, PLEASE shut yourself down, after numerous remakes over the years there is literally nothing worth watching and mentioning (I dont count "**** of the dead" family of films), you've tried with game scripts, again nothing worth watching (Tomb Raider,Resident Evil,Mortal Kombat,Prince of Persia,Hitman,Max Pain...)only Silent Hill is half decent, you have tried with numerous books (a lot of those film - worthless, remember HP Lovecraft,Stephen King&others),now this?Please GIVE UP!

Just saw it. Pleasantly surprised. The female lead is great - and I was sceptic - and they focused a lot on paranoia like the 82 version, and the characters are believable and avoid the worst clichés. Oh and it's extremely gory. Like something straight out of a nightmare. They definitely didn't water it down to reach a broader audience.

A loyal prequel. The Thing is better than the 1982 version.

It's scarier. The CGI effects have improved a lot in 29 years .

Go and see it while you can or rent to own . You will not be disappointed.

Mr. carpenters version is very good but left a lot of unanswered questions...where was the alien going when it crashed here...was the alien the actual pilot or a passenger...or a fugative .. after all it was found outside the space ship...why did it leave its planet to begin with...and since it can morph into a human it knows how to think and speak the language...why not try to comunicate with the humans and ask for assistance...but I doubt that these questions will be answered on the prequal
