My mom is like how she said her mom was in the begining. I love cosplaying but when I do it has to be casual cosplay or my mom freaks. I love this video!
This is so awesome! I saw a few of my friends in this. I'm going to show this to my parents whenever they question me about my love of SacAnime and cosplay.
:3 my first cosplay was at Anime Crossroads in Indiana as Russia from Hetalia...i cant wait to go to my next con! this mini documentary is just awesome :)
Gonna be doing my first cosplay at A-Kon this summer. Me and 8 friends are going as the red team from tf2. We're working on my engie outfit this weekend ^_^ . Only thing that could make it more awesome is if another group of people go as blue team.
i love anime and i love cosplaying but im scared of people and am afraid to cosplay in public im also afraid of being alone so i dont just want to be a wall flower i want to go to an anime convention but im scared that ill be miserable with all the people and no one to talk to where i live their arnt many people into anime cuz every1 would rather hunt so i cant take people with me what should i do?!?!?!
This is a really nice mini cosplay documentary, and I feel honored that you asked my friends and I to be a part of it. This is what it's about. It's fun and we meet lots of other people who have similar interests. Also, being a generally shy person, the costumes are a great ice breaker for conversation. It's really a great opportunity to express yourself in ways that you wouldn't have otherwise, and have a blast doing it.
This video is outstanding and truly inspiring. It realy captures the true essence of cosplay and it gives such a good support for every cosplayer out there. This is exactly what every one of us needs to see and hear, but even the haters could learn a thing or two from it. Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake, and that is cosplay! Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful video and support!
@CrashShinoda Aww thanks so much! We were all really hoping to spread positive word about Cosplay, thanks for letting us know we are helping in that goal!
@AngelusDlion Honestly, it's probably a very similar set of ideas as what they say here in this video. I can understand at least somewhat why people would fursuit. It lets them be something different for a while, in the case of fursonas usually that's a character you designed to be the "perfect you" that you see in your mind. In those suits you're at least somewhat "anonymous" despite being instantly recognizable. It's like interactions on the internet, only in real life.
"Just love everybody and everybody loves you back"
Nice quote, but truth is, its not that like most of the time.
I dont know how its in the USA or other countries, but if you enter a con in germany with a cosplay many other cosplayers will think "crappy costume..."
@Deshatar Judgment is inevitable in any situation, especially those where clothing are involved and are the basis of the event. It happens in any country.
I started Cosplaying since Freshman year too, and I love it!
Even if I took a break from it for a while, I got back in it. I hardly go to panels at conventions and usually just walk around with my friends and look at what other people decided to wear and the different characters and such, and hang out in the Dealers room and of course the Artist Alley. My parents never heard of it, then when my dad took me to a convention once, he loved bringing me to them because of the costumes Lol
@7daisy13 No way! That's so cool! I was going to run up to you and grab a few shots, however we were pressed for time. Glad you made it in the video tho! :D
@JayTigris Thank you! The idea was to create a video "tool" for Cosplayers to use as a way to help explain what Cosplay really is. We all know that only like 5% of Con's have that weird stuff in it, most people blow it up to more than it is tho. You said exactly what we were hoping to hear. 8)

I'm a really shy person when I'm in public or if I'm with a group of friends, but when I cosplay, I feel like I'm more open about who I actually am.
When I cosplay I love every second of it.

I still think it's a little weird. But then I don't even dress up for Halloween, so make of my opinion what you will.

But my mom thinks it's so weird, so she won't buy me costumes.. And I'm too young to buy it on my own. (I'm 14)..8C

..or more scary, when you come across those male Sailor Moon cosplayers.
