blockbuster is awesome i love the 2 for $20 and 3 for $20 etc. and the renting movies and games is awesome! yet all the blockbusters around me closed around 5-6. i love blockbuster. let's try to get them back up and running again!!!!!!!!

& if ppl wanna go out & get movies...go to the library where you can grab 10 at a time for free.If your that sort of thing.You can mingle there.Point out books to your kids.It's not over as long as the library exists.10 items you can get for 1 week for free.5 movies-3 cd's & a couple of books.much better than BB & better for your community.Why are ppl so stuck on BB? I work for blockbuster. Every customer is given a 7day grace period after the Due Date. Keep the movie past those extra 7days, and it automaticly sells to you. The movie is now yours. If you still wish to return it, you may do so within the next 30 days for a full refund, minus a $1.25 restock fee (which is the common return policy for most retailers). Keep the movies for 37 days extra and only lose 1.25. The only ones complaining are those who keep their movies for a rediculously long time.

@KAMIKAZE589 That's bull shit. It wasn't like that in the earlier days until people started to complain of them ripping customers off. They charged you automatically for being one day late, and often, it's stupid employees not checking it out properly when it's returned int he drop box.

u people are retarted...i work for blockbuster and if you've been in a store lately then you'd see that it's a pretty good deal. and redbox will probably be gone in the next year or so bcuz most movie studios are pulling out from them....seems u don't make too much of a profit when someones selling ur shit for a buck...blockbuster is by far not the best company and i hate them right now...but if they close you'll pay a far bigger price. they are still the largest rental company. you need them

@holliday1984 Redbox is still around. Unfortunately, good ol' Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy on September 23, 2010. Blockbuster's creditors may force them to liquidate soon.

@micronc I hate renting from RedBox. I always end up with a DVD that doesn't work because it's either scratched up or it's bent. I now rent from Family Video which is way cheaper than BB and RB. I can rent 5 new movies at Family Video for $3 bucks.

Because Ballbuster Video killed all the family-owned and 'family friendly' video stores; The ones that had those swinging saloon doors (or a black curtain) leading the way to the Adult section. Its no secret that it was X-rated material that made home video, and home computers, as popular as they are. Now, people can get movies in the mail from Netflix, and see all the porn they want on the web, so what is the need for Blockbuster?? The ToysRUs argument is invalid-BB was never a 'kids' store.

I hate that people will lose their jobs ,but Blockbuster is being ran by crooks. I've seen reports so silly, that a man actually paid for his late fees, and they actually sent the movies back and charged a card he never gave them for a gran total of $60, and said thanks for buying.

BB HAS been struggling for years. Their methods are archaic in today's society. Honestly, if people didn't see this coming, I'm shocked.

Your little story is deceiving. Credit Cards are required when an account is open. That's prob. why THAT card was charged. You sign a legal document (the form) when you sign up. Plus, you get an extra 30 days to bring a rental back. You keep it longer - they assume you wanna keep it. The store cant make money renting a product that you are sitting on for 30 or more days. Of course you have to pay for it.

Not that long ago a long standing local video store in this area finally caved from the NetFlix/RedBox/Blockbuster competition and became a half-assed antique shop. Not surprised a business like Blockbuster, still heavily into the old ways of the rental business, is facing this king of problem. I'd rather buy my movies if I know it completes a collection or have seen it in theatres wanting to watch many times over.
