it does not matter you have to be 16 to take part in the big fights like this but if you are younger that there are smaller ones

The age depends. Some kingdoms you have to be 18 and others 16.

Levion if you want to be a part of it all you have to do is go to the SCA website, and find your local barony and show up to a fighter practice and tell them your new. They will show you ALL there is of the SCA.
