First one we had was at Maxie's in NYC and it had giant, bubbles and stale grinds, it was disgusting and a horrible first impression, but I haven't given up yet! Interesting flavor combo, I'd like to try it!
Have you guys ever tried making coffee milk? If you haven't just take a cup of extra strong coffee (a French press works well), mix in 1 cup sugar while the coffee is hot, and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Then add the coffee syrup (not the whole thing, but a couple tablespoons or to taste) to a glass of cold milk and stir. Its so good, especially on a hot day like today (in Sacramento - 104 degrees!).
You sound like you would be a fun girl to go drinking with Kat!
