No, the motion triggered video will stay on the micro SD card until the card is full. Then the oldest clips get overwritten. Usually about 3 days of video depending on sensitivity and zone settings. The computer downloads the video periodically when on

What if they steal your computer? I would like to see the motion detector, storage drive, and camera all contained within the digital clock. Another great feature would be to send a still shot mms to your cell phone when triggered. Being able to tap into the system from your smart phone is another good idea. I see more refinement in the product offering on the horizon.
The outdoor cameras have a known defect (caps melting). They fail in about a year. This is due to the following four 1000uF capacitors: C26, C27, C31 and C32. The caps that were in the original release were 10 volt caps. The next release they were 16 volt. I had 7 dead cameras. I replaced them with a 25 volt high quality cap and they have worked ever since.
Can we live stream and store on another pc outside of the home? If we can, we could stream and store at a friends house and they could store at ours or we could store online. That would solve the problem of the thief stealing the storage unit. Also, is it infer red and do you have color cams available.
Yes another computer can get to he streams and memory stored clips. The outdoor camera is visible color in the day and the IR turns on and it becomes night vision when the sun goes down.
I see! You mean that the PC based security system captures the perpetrator on one of the 6 cameras and when they break into your business or home, they take the computer with them. By the way is one of the most stolen pieces of equipment taken in a burglary. Makes sense to me. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
yes you would have to have your comp on all the time. You should just get a stand alone unit which is designed specifically to be used for continuous use. the problem with having your security system linked to your PC is that your using online as well. youll need to enable active X which leads to many virus's. i feel bad for the retail market, because they get sucked into stuff that not that good.

Hi, anything that uses power line technology is killing shortwave radio around the UK! not sure about this product but I guess it also uses HF. Ofcom are looking for new powers to outlaw this stuff so buyer beware!

As wickedweekend asked previously, does the computer/laptop need to be on all the time?
Wouldn't want to be leaving it on all day.
