  • 1 Person hasn't been cast in bronze yet.

  • this dude...... is SOOOO badass.....great performer.

  • I've only had one chance to see him live, but it was worth it.

  • its curious how something so heavy can be moved and especially if it weighs 4 tons ohter than that amazing when i saw him at th ren fest in plantersville Tx

  • @Dcusb1 It takes a VERY large truck and ALOT of time, his next one they're working on casting is going to be a little more ornate and ALOT more mobile.

  • he is so awsome it sounds so good at the renaissance festival in denver.

  • It is hard to believe this is Frank playing. I saw him EarthDay 2001 at Epcot. He didn't wear the freaky costume, or have such theatrical movements. He simply played his heart out. The background music was performed live, also. The quality of the carillon play was better. I think this is his apprentice doing the performances now.

  • No that is definitely Frank..I know his voice and I probably talked to him after the show

  • @nuttinhoney12

Cast in Bronze is a performance at various Medieval and Music festivals. Its designed to be theatrical.

  • He's so amazing. At the Ren Fest in GA, my family and I got to hear some of his music. I absolutely thought it was very amazing. I've never seen a Carillon before and it was my first time watching it. John signed my CD and I was ecstatic. I hope that I can see either John or Frank perform many times.

  • He's amazing.

My one teacher know him really well.

    He's in his 60's

  • I saw him at the Ren Fest. He's a good musician and all but his theatrics are the most ridiculously hilarious things ever!! I was sitting in the front row and couldn't stop giggling. He was looking at me the whole time so I just left because I was afraid I'd offend him.

  • The movements are an homage to the old pipe organ players.

  • Awesome to see live! Me and my kids loved him, and the mask just adds to the "mysteriousness" of it all!

  • ha no, he's not a girl. he's my cousin...he's never met me though. haha xD

  • why would anyone think he's a girl? amazing music either way!

  • This is what is should look like Let's see that Carillon and not a black pit. Good camera - next time, tripod.

  • Tripod or monopod is always nice, but as a visitor to a Renaissance Festival, it's a pain to lug one around all day.

  • Frank is definately not a woman. I'm proud to say I've had the opportunity to get to know him without the mask. The reason for it is because he wants his performance to be about the music, not himself. The best way to achieve this was to be faceless, the power of the instrument the focus. Plus the mystery and theatrics really add to the experience. He's truely amazing!

  • I have too! He let me go backstage lol. Aren't his hugs the best?

  • They are! The first time I saw Frank was at TRF one of those weekends when it rained non-stop, so I spent most of my weekend in front of his stage. The rainy weather and this amazing music just completely surrounding you, it was almost surreal, just breathtaking, and definately one of my favorite faire memories. Listening to Cast In Bronze live, sitting in the rain, is really a wonderful way to spend a day!

  • He autographed one of his cds for me today!!! That was awesome. I know he's a man because I spoke to him. I love the mask. And I don't blame him for going faceless. That is a great way to get people to notice the music and the instrument. He is not the music star here. The Carillon is. The Carillon's name is "Cast In Bronze".Otherwise the cd would be under his name.

  • thats a good way to look at it I have met him and his Apprentice they are nice and they do have the best hugs

  • I'm srry i have to burst oyur bubble at T.R.F. you did not see frank you saw john cause i actually called john frank thinking it was frank but it wasn't he whispered inmy ear "I'm not frank im john i work for frank."

  • @ScarbyPlaytron Can you blame him? Man needs someone he can work with considering what one ton of ringing bronze is doing to his ears, you can even see him wearing his noise dampening head-phones in this one.

  • @ariandynas He told me he had a new apprentice, Osirus I believe is what it was. He is also building another Carillon :)

  • His hugs are awesome!! I'll be sure to tell him that.

  • @ShinyItaly I used to work for him. Years ago at the Georgia Ren Fair. Frank's an awesome man. I enjoyed sitting with him backstage between shows, talking. Those are some of my fondest memories.

  • @genericusername94 My first experience with CiB was Ohio Renfest in 2011. That weekend, there were three CiB performances being done in three different states. With the mask and costume, it's as if Mr. DellaPenna was performing in three places at the same time, no offense intended to the other musicians. For me, the mask and costume add to the magic of the moment, somehow being an extension of the black and bronze of the carillon.

  • I love his theatrics. He's so amazing...

  • I have seen him at many performances. He does not shave much and you can always see wiskers poking through the black cloth covering his face. It's either a bearded lady named frank (not totally impossible nowdays) or it's a dude.

  • i love this guy, wow, hes the coolist. i want bells just like that

  • this is such a bad ass performance!! hey, i hers that this was actually a girl...who knows, thats what the mask is for right?

  • No, the mask is so that he can try to present the carillon in its original way. Since almost all of them are stationed in towers, nobody ever sees the people playing them, and he's trying to keep that bit of mystery. Also if you talk to him, he is most definately not a woman. Check out castinbronze dot com

  • there are more then one of these?! 0_0 that would kinda make sense since some how he has to be i pa and ny either this weekend or next at the same time

  • There are only two traveling carillons in the world. This one which weighs 4 tons, and the other his apprentice uses which is 6 1/2 tons.

  • The performance is good, but the video and sound slipped sync :-( I enjoyed this piece tho. Frank Always makes it Interesting and Fun!

  • WOO FRANK!

  • I see this guy everytime I go to Ren faire...I love this instrument and the man is amazing to watch ...thank you for posting!!!
