Nice area to ride, Looks a somewhat like parts near me. Thinking of buying a bike like this one, How is the bike mechanically , I have been told they have problems ? Not sure that I believe that, So I ask you. One last question, How does it do on fuel per Lt. BTW great video..Thank's, yl
@nikonxxx yep, governed by dictators, mafias and mother-fucker-that ruin the society and justice completely....and besides, italian are dumb, they just live in the television. I'm italian, but I moved abroad, couldn't stand that shit anymore :(
Are we Onboard the SL750 Shiver or onboard the tach and speedometer? Camera should have been mounted to the left or right on the handle bars. I just see "Golden Bull Horns" through the whole ride. Awesome bike! Thanks for posting. This bike is on my short list.
Shiver has overall better handling and is lighter. Shiver has more low/midrange pull, Z750 has a bit more top end rpm rull. Suspension is a bit better on the shiver to and it is more advanced, with things like ride by wire and diffrent drive modes. On the other hand the Z750 is cheaper and IS more reliable. Apprilia as with lots of other italian things has more problems especially with electronics. They are very diffrent from eachother, V2 vs Inline 4
The video shows a road which I believe is along Lago di Como toward the village of Varenna (I was there last summer). I take delivery of my Shiver 750 in March, as soon as they make it through U.S. Customs...can't wait!!!
Wow beautiful scenery! I have an Aprilia RST Futura. The engines sound about the same. It looks like a very fun bike to ride. I've never ridden a naked bike though.
i agree with raptor..just by the sheer sounds of the rev i dont think it was designed for racing..looks very fun to ride though..anyone know an approximate price?
At least a more sporty version. But I don't think this engine was ever developed for racing. I'd love for Aprilia to boost the midrange to the max. That would make the Shiver a very fun motorcycle to ride.
@raptorama It is quite over-square though, more so than a 848 for instance. But perhaps they just give it those big bores to create larger capacity versions more cheaply.
stupenda moto davvero...sono indeciso se prendere questa o la gsr 600 della suzuki...son molto diverse ma son tutte e 2 bellissime...che mi dici dele prestazioni di questo gioiellino?e x la manutenzione?
when I saw it for the first time it looks nice, but now I´ve seem videos, sound and more info. it seems to be more like a Trail bike than a naked, it´s just my point of view
hi raptor, could you please tell me where is that awesome road? i'm from the north of italy and i always look for new places for ride...and tenx for the vid, i'm seriously thinking to buy that bike..
Nice video but it would even better if the view of the camera was a bit higher. Now almost everything that's happening in front of the bike is obstructed by the instruments (don't know the correct word).
I was expecting a video of this bike for far too long! I keep reading everywhere that when you open the throttle the bike responds slowly, how did you feel about that? Do you think this is a good bike for beginners as well as experienced riders?
Please post more videos, this time with a wide open throttle ;-).
Was that policeman who stoped 'ya at the middle of video? :)
So, what's the overall impression on Shiver? This might be my next acquisition, I've been quite mesmerized by the looks of Shiver and what's on the paper as well...
Hey, no the Police was just redirecting traffic due to a big bicycle race in the mountains that day. At the end of the video I'm encountering a car rally... But in the next onboard video I was followed by the police. Think they noticed my onboard camera and perhaps they wanted to have a look at the video. However, they would have had to catch me to do that and that never happened. They never had time to try to stop me so I didn't run so to speak. Just got out of trouble before it hapened:-)

Nice bike ;) Just bought an 2008 Shiver ... enough power, good handling and a very cool 2 cylinder engine with great sound.
(@ Mr.Braviaaa: The Live sound is much better than in this video, but: you have to like 2 cylinders ;) It's different than 4cylinder sound...)

it has a 2 cylinder engine, thats why revs are lower. all aprilia bikes have a 2 cylinder.
sjebos 4 years ago
Will they ever put that engine in a racer? I hope so, would be a good alterative to all the japanes 600s

raptorama 4 years ago
just read Tor's blog and seen the answers to two of the three.
I reckon this is my next bike.
240 k/hr. That'l do me. I can't wheelie anyway.
But hopefully the other engine maps will be available for this bike after a bit.
Why would they not allow more experienced riders to use the full power?
Seems very un-italian to me.
redbuffoon 4 years ago
nice one Tor.
If you were after a mid size naked would you get it?
What was your top speed?
Any chance of a wheelie demo?
redbuffoon 4 years ago
Thanks! There's some more onboard stuff that I'll publish later with some of that! Not much though as the Shiver is very well behaved!
raptorama 4 years ago
you can't see the road or the gauges clearly...
next time, put some towel or something under the camera, you should get a few centimeters that way...
