eruption isn't that fast. even the afterlife solo is faster than eruption (syn actually hits 24 nps in that solo). frnacesco fareri hits 43 nps in his song secrets within making it the fastest guitar solo of all time. then again the whole song is a guitar solo, but he hits 7 3 string weeps in 1 second at one point in the song making 43 nps. btw iron maiden destroys metallica ;)

@Fluffypopcicle francesco fareri hits "only" 33 nps while sweep picking. the fastest in the world is marcus paus who hits a very sloppy 40 nps. then, there are jeff hannemann who hits 23 nps in angel of death (random notes), batio sweeps 23 nps in no boundaries, jason becker hits 22 nps in paganini's 5th, dave murray (iron maiden) hits 20 nps in sign of the cross (and maybe janick too), steve vai plays 21 nps in the riddle. syn and all his generation stops at 13-14 nps

yeah, that's fine. nobody is perfect :) i was wrong about secrets within also. it was more like 38 - 40 nps, not 43. 36 at the least. also, david shankle hits 36 nps in his "demonic solo" and it's crazy. not very musical, but that wasn't the point. rofl it totally looks like he speeds his fingers up, but he plays like that live. he is just crazy fast.

Living Colour? Thats just crap! try duplicating one of Alex Skolnicks solos from Testament. Thats real speed and accuracy. Picking and fingering is insane. Also try a Randy Rhoads solo. Some of these pick of your are very good though. Dream Theater is killer.
