How to Improve Spoken American English - Sound like a Native Speaker

Very enlightening and interesting video, but I've been practicing my pronunciation in a similar way for a while now, and always thought that flap T sounded more like an R. (not the english R though, if you know what I mean) Am I "too" wrong? Because if so, shouldn't I seek another way to enhance my pronunciation, since my ears are unreliable?

Yeah, recording yourself is a good idea. But personally I HATE my accent when I listen to it. When I'm speaking I think "well it's not that bad" but once when i recorded myself I was like "nooo waay!" and that was hm... horrible feeling:) after that i was kinda ashamed of speaking in english haha :p

hi Rachel, I was wondering if you could make a video about the pronunciation of words with 'G' and 'J' letters as in 'George' vs. 'John'. Or would they be pronounced exactly the same? ( I mean the sound of the first letter). Thanks!

@divacat80 Yes, the first sound of GEORGE is the same as JOHN, even though the [ʤ] sound is represented first by the G and then by the J.

@regiju1 Yes, either is ok. "I like them a lot" is probably a more common way to say the same thing. :)
