its a great album...its stood the test of time..you may not like their style..but their legends of pop/rock and dare takes its rightful place in the best albums of all time..i love it

@dirtysouthlepluv in the space of the 'dare' photosesssions, phil's hair changed from the lobsided full-on freakshow style to part wedgehead to french crop wedge, to groovefringe, to slickback city comb, close-crop and (almost) suedehead. the album and the fashion imagery was way ahead of its time, and still looks cool today. the green/silver eyeshadow combo - with heavy black eyeliner - is pure max factor. the ivory skin tone is clinique number one - very expensive in england in the 80s.
My mum swears to God that Phil Oakey copied this hairstyle of her when he met her in a club in the late 70s. I don't know why she even admits to having it herself never mind inspiring it, I think it's horrendous!

There are very few, if any Beatles songs that people will still listen to in 100 years time from now, never mind 1000! absolutely love this song. Pure, simple, and uplifting. Oakey's voice is so strong & distinctive. Listening to this is like a breath of fresh air, compared with modern over-produced, hissy, auto-tuned, computer-altered crap that is churned out by the bucket-load these days.

I didn't like this song when it came out while I was still at school, but grew to love it in the mid 80s. Keyboard miming totally wrong at 1:15 - Always made me laugh, and I love how the bass drops at 3:23. Great song.

DARE is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Tunes you can humm to with simple grooves.
An absolute masterpiece of its time.
1000 years from now people will still listen to this album.

I didn't like this song when it came out while I was still at school, but grew to love it in the mid 80s. Keyboard miming totally wrong at 1:15 - Always made me laugh, and I love how the bass drops at 3:23. Great song.

@BlackmoonUK - I agree with you. Why not get play the right keys on the keyboard in front of the camera--even if it was someone else's hand being shot. Very odd. That aside, interesting video to watch. Btw, I'd like to know if anyone knows who directed this video because some of the shots look very very similar to some shots in Duran Duran's "Planet Earth" video. Watch both, if you'd like, and you'll see what I mean.

AMAZING song !!!! Listen up folks!! Compare this fantastic music to the manufactured rubbish we are fed now. No comparison. Phil Oakey has an amazing voice. And don't even bring sexuality into it.
