  • I can't seem to get my ultrabeat into a MIDI region. i'm new to L9 so I don't know much about it yet. But these vids help!

  • can't hear your voice hardly.

  • Trust me! That bass is filthy!! >: D

  • Superb, thanks. Great little tip at the end too with the muted notes and different LFO rates - really makes a huge difference!

  • Very bad compared to massive .5

  • @wackobacko10000 With no explanation, yours is a completely baseless and unsubstantiated comment. This sound is actually very clean and pure and awaits the final touches of filters, eq etc. Lets see what you can do in Massive if you have the cojones to upload a video response. Anyone can be a hit and run critic.

  • This is wild, it is a whole new way to synthesize sound.

  • Wowzers.

  • Solid tutorial and nasty sound. Can't wait to try this

  • WHAT KIND OF BASSLINE DID YOU USE? IS IT IN THE LOGIC LIBRARY?

  • how do u make the kind of DADADADODODODODODODODO like in pendulum set me on fire?

  • how do you make the bass you did at the start before the dirty filthy horrible shite?

  • Heyo, how do you do the acid attack? it sounds so gooooood :)

  • Where does the plain sine come from?

  • You make this sound so easy and its just sounds awesome, if i would use that for my gcse piece i would be like at the top lol

  • sick vid bro, but i got a question....if you have a mod wheel can you modulate the lfo cutoff throught the wheel? cos tht would be so fun to mess around with

  • thank you millions! brilliant!

  • wich button on the keyboard do I have to press to make a sound with the ES2? :P....

  • AWESOME. best tutorial i have found. cheers very much @soundsLogical

  • Whenever i do this mine doesn't make any noise at all. its like its on mute. can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  • what bass did you use? does it matter?

  • how do you change the tempo on all the different tracks?(making the wobble go faster)

    Awesome vid!

  • Instead of having three tracks with different LFO rates, you can just automate it. Just sayin.

  • sound like dubstep santa

  • PHAT TUTORIAL!!

  • Hi, I just started a music channel which I hope to turn into a community channel once I get enough subs. Come and check it out.

  • How do you make the synth climb on Tr. 6? Thanks!

  • GREAT VID!

  • Thank you so much dude, you should get royalties from the music people are going to be making after they see this... I've been trying to figure it out without youtube for a week already and gave up> Thanks, keep em posted...

  • Thanks a lot dude. this helped me with the song i created.....watch?v=nAo_bjjsxdQ&feature=channel_video_title

  • hi! thanks for the video, it's very healthy for who wanna make dubstep... just one question which instrument do you use in the video?

  • im just interested, how do you create your drumkits? was this just a plain logic presets, or did you search for certain samples? :)

  • Cheers thats pretty good

  • check out some of the basses and dubs i've made using logic express. I almost exclusively use the es2 synth although I occasionally use massive when i'm looking for a very particular sound.

  • YOU'RE A LEGEND, seriously gonna put this kinda stuff in my music tech coursework. :D

    THANK YOU

  • This is awesome, thanks so much!

  • can someone please reply to my comment... is logic studio only for the mac?

  • @shaneDfan1234 It's not been available for Windows for 9 years. :)

  • @shaneDfan1234 yeap unless u got the old logic lik 4or 5 which was 4 the pc and mac, but not sure if es2 was there but check it ou! but after 5 or 7 apple brought emagic and is now only for the mac! or better yet get a mac and convert it into a hackintosh! its basically dividing the harddrive into 2 say 4 example its 1tb, then 500gb would be 4 the mac and the other 4 windows!

  • excelent!! thanks man. it is really great tips you gave there!

    cheers

  • You have no idea how helpful you have been in a certain creation. May Sheogorath bless you!

  • I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING SETUP AND MY SOUNDED LIKE CRAP

  • Wow, man. Big help! Thanks a ton!

  • Thanks, man. Much appreciated! U really helped!

  • You have just helped me with my music coursework, thanks man!

  • wat is the logic preset sine called and where can i find it??

  • I don't understand how to get the Plain Sine Patch.. I've whatched your other video bur the thing is that I don't get any options more than like "next setting/previous" "copy settings" etc. I don't get the list below that as you do in the other vid.. I'm not so good at this stuff, yet :P

  • Lol you could've warned be before those sounds were coming a little sooner.

    Nice vid

  • cheers! helped loads :L

  • Is this both logic pro and express?

  • Good shit

  • Really really want to know how to limit the sync rate for LFO 2 to certain tempos. I'd like to set it to 3 max. It's really hard to go from 1/4 to 16t exactly on the fly. Anyone know how to do this?

  • coming over to the dark-side of dub.....wicked tuturial....Thanks bro!!

  • Sick beat at the end.

  • Would that work with wheel syncer?

  • @LambBvidz just route it through modwheel or pitch bend instead of LFO2 and yeah.

  • Would that work with wheel syncer?

  • i was just wondering, is there anyway of increasing the frequency of the bass using the modulation wheel? instead of having to create so many different tracks?

  • you're awesome Thk u!!

  • can someone help me? when i go into ES2 i pick the right thingy ( not #default but analog saw init) and i cant get anything to play. it is setup as a software instrument and i cant even get the basic wave going. anyone know how to fix this?

  • @TheCharmzzzzz

at a store or online from a torrent sight but make sure it works properly and that the file is not corrupted, i fucked up my last computer that way, if you buy it in a store be prepared to spend 200-500 bucks

  • how did u do the sub can u do a quick tutorial

  • sorry im a super noob.. where can i get the es2??

  • @TheCharmzzzzz comes with logic pro

  • @TheCharmzzzzz create a new instrument track or 'Software Instrument' track.. Now look to the far left of the screen at the bottom you'll find 2 channel strips. On the left channel strip, left click and hold the empty slot above 'Stereo Out'.. then scroll down to ES2. That's it. Hope it helps

  • @TheCharmzzzzz Its a plugin that comes with Logic.

  • @TheCharmzzzzz just select an instrument that you have and then go to where it says i/o and then it should say es2 if not then try with another instrument thumb up so every one can see :)

  • @TheCharmzzzzz As it is hinted in the title the ES2 is part of logic. There is no other way to get it, than to use Logic. It cannot be used in any other audio sequencer.

  • @TheCharmzzzzz comes with logic...it's the synthesizer

  • @TheCharmzzzzz on the left hand side of the screen you have something called "inspector" press the "i" button on your keyboard and it will appear/disappear and towards the bottom you see a I/O symbol underneath that is a clear rectangle box hover the mouse over it and hold down your mouse then drag down to es2!!

  • @TheCharmzzzzz its built into logic. see the lightblue button downleft on the video (your screen) that says es2? click that same button in your own logic and choose your weapon. the es2 should be there among others.

  • @TheCharmzzzzz in the sidebar (left), after you select an instrument, select the blue or grey box above "Out 1-2", from the dropdown menu, select "ES2".

    hope it helped :)

  • @TheCharmzzzzz The ES2 is part of Logic, Apple's digital audio workstation, I don't think you can buy it seperately.

  • @TheCharmzzzzz It comes with Logic Pro / Express.

  • @TheCharmzzzzz in the description but its $20

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCharmzzzzz The es2 is a stock plugin for logic pro. You can't get it anywhere else, it comes with the DAW (which by the way is great, just complicated to use due to its overwhelming ability to do everything ever.)

  • christ this is good!

  • you beautiful... beautiful man

  • mine did NOT sound like this :( what am i doing wrong? i copied everything

  • @l0ve4freed0m Start with his making a default setting in es2 video. There are a ton of things that could be different.

  • Dude ignore all this haters....your tutorial was fuckin great!!! I've learned so much from this and have created dub songs myself thanks to you! That's other people's problem if they're complaining about this. Don't watch people if your going to complain about it. He's just trying to help!

  • Great video, and thanks for the warnings :)

  • thank you so much this helped a lot.

  • @soundslogical would you recommend logic for dubstep then? i really want to start making some. thankyou

  • play the sound you are making at the beginning of the tutorial so listeners can decide if that's the sound they wish to create without watching the whole video. Thanks anyhow! : )

  • Thanks so much!

  • @trueflotzilla yes it does come with logic express

  • Awesome tutorial. Thanks for sharing.

  • Dupstep sucks

  • @FRIEDBREAD62 Agreed, but from a producers standpoint, shits fun as hell to make (:

  • you can do it without a midi controller/keyboard

  • This is Dubstep 101 man, congrats. Very helpful.

  • mix your voice volume to match the synth volume, fucking christ.

  • @violinsofangels First vid I ever did, sorry dude, I tried to warn you.

  • @soundsLogical lol that makes sense, thanks for the info!

  • @violinsofangels What a twat...they guys giving an amazing tutorial, especially for beginners and you come in with your condescending crap...Wanker!

  • @SeannMarylee how was that condescending? Do you even know what condescending means? Fucking idiot.

  • @violinsofangels Yes, I do know what it means which is why I used it. In case you were wondering what it meant: Condescending - 1. Acting in a way that betrays a feeling of patronizing superiority.

    2. (of an action) Demonstrating such an attitude. By saying, 'fucking christ' implies that you feel what he did was substandard. ie: you were being condescending. Now who's the idiot?

  • @SeannMarylee It's not giving attitude when you say something factual "fucking christ" was my way of expressing how my ears felt at the time. It had nothing to do with being condescending or the content of the video. I would expect someone who's teaching how to make music to at least mix the volume properly on their video. He understood and told me it was his first video, so I wasn't out of line at all in mentioning it. Not everyone is a sensitive fag like you, pathetic homo, go cry about it.

  • @SeannMarylee you loser brits and your pathetic insults..... WANKER! LOL Pathetic.

  • @violinsofangels Brit? You're wrong there...I may live here but I'm not British. So there goes your comeback! As for your homophobic reply, just goes to show your class now doensn't it...go mix some filthy Russian hardstyle, it would suit your attitude!

  • @violinsofangels you know, he made an awesome and very instruction video with great accuracy. no need to curse then man out for one little flaw that didnt meet your princess little specs. jeez man.

  • did anyone else turn up the volume when it said turn it down

  • where do i get the es2

  • @sensesfail831

    it comes with logic

  • how do you get the different lfo rates on one track? im having to make separate tracks for each rate, and that means a lot of tracks because id like some dynamics to my works

  • @NemesisAleksander you need to automate the lfo rate, but i find it abit rubbish so i just bounce each track and make it into one.. problem being you cant change the notes but then you can do more crazy shit because of the space created on your mixer

  • @GutchaDubstep ok thanks a lot. Im just going to make separate tracks for each rate, even if it only plays for half a measure lol.

  • Does anyone have any advice on how I can get my levels to not peak? After following this tutorial step for step, I still peak.

Any advice or help would be hugely appreciated!

  • @desttE For a single track, a compressor or limiter might be enough. Or you could use the analyzer on the channel EQ to find out which frequencies are peaking, and attenuate them accordingly. For a whole mix, I like to use the multiband compressor and the adaptive limiter, with multimeters inserted before and after.

  • @1Rockon4eva1 I guess you could automate a change - press 'a' then select LFO 2 on the right

  • Awesome

  • make a whole song from this

  • thanks man !

  • Great video!!

  • do i get the 'plain sine' ? or how do i start from scratch?

  • Awesome :) How did u make that sound at 6:30?

  • @JackSnr I'd like to know too

  • ES2 > Massive

  • WOW! Thanks for this!

  • how did u get the buildup sort of noise at about 6:18

  • @TheAuditoryDubstep Go to his websight and download the dubstep tutorial and sounds package and its in there. Its called "Sub Wub"

  • @TheAuditoryDubstep Make the LFO pattern really increasingly fast and increasing the pitch

  • Hey man, really great tutorial. I've got the wobble but I'm having great difficulty getting the deep bass sound into it, a response would be great!

  • Your levels are peaking bro ;)

In all seriousness though, nice tutorial.
