this was awesome, back in the day when nick had some great shows that were somewhat edgy but still great. they also were funny and they weren't trying to teach you a lesson they were just about having fun. I'm glad I grew up being able to watch these.

@SergeantLuke I agree with your assessment. To me the greatest kids' cartoon of my generation was the early years of Spongebob Squarepants (1999-2002). Even as an adult, I still watch those episodes and appreciate the unbelivable wit, voice-acting, and storyline that the show was known for. "The Simpsons', 'King of the Hill' and 'South Park' are three of the finest animated series ever produced. And early Spongebob was right up there with them!

The best time of nickelodeon was during the original run of Ren&Stimpy, when actually most of the quality shows were live action. Salute your Shorts and The Adventures of Pete and Pete are a dear memory to many people I've known. I'm sure you know who Brak is, but have you ever seen his origin show, Cartoon Planet? The kids generation now don't even bother hardly with watching cartoon channels(although they blow now anyways), not when they're too busy downloading ridiculous apps for their smartphones which they don't need for any good reason, and take their short-lived childhoods for granted completely.
