If Marci's mom calls the police on Marci for being under the influence at her house then all Marci will learn is to not be high at her moms house. She could just do meth anywhere else. The only thing she would be doing is pushing her daughter away and teaching her not to go to her moms house.
Mother is living in complete denial. She was married to an abusive acoholic. She has ignored her daughter's issues and at times enabled them. This is a sad mess of a situation.
Marci is ADDICTED to escaping her issues through drugs. And having a group of judgmental people around her isn't helping. Going away to a rehab center is the only way she can recover from this or she'll be stuck in the cycle for a long time.
Her brother coped with her dad's abuse by internalizing it...that's why he has heart problems, as sad as it is. Marci coped with it by doing drugs and "partying". Her brother is on the path to getting better - physically, mentally; Marci NEEDS THERAPY

Now I am clean for 11 yrs, have a place and an income and a good relationship w/ my son, but my daughter refuses contact and it breaks my heart every day- but I wait and hope and keep doing the right thing.. Marci is crazy. It is SO not worth it!! I'd give anything to go back...

My mom would not tolerate this at all and she is very aware of the mental and physical abuse relationship I had with my dad! @iraqidolphin so true, my mother grew up during those times, and just starting saying "i love you" when i was born 22 years ago. She never said it prior to my birth, never to her parents, brothers, sisters, niece's, nephew's, not even my older brother and sister.
@iraqidolphin ya my parents both experienced the same stuff, parents who thought they were best parents ever, or had drinking problems, and had troubles forming those close relationships. I think baby boomer parents came from usually very tough and hard times to live thru (war and ruff families). then alot of kids from that 60's 70's changed the pattern it seems, atleast where i live mostly i think. life is weird
