because the people voted otherwise, that they would prefer tax dollars to go to children and families that can't afford the huge corporate costs of healthcare...you already pay for schooling, roads etc. and this will actually save money in the long term.
tax dollars go to children HA! your children and your unborn children have already been given a tax bill and they arent working or have even been born yet! Thanks Obama for your Socialism....what a FREE country we have here....NOT!
Sorry but we didn't get to vote on that. But if we did it would have to be a state law to be legal as the federal government isn't allowed by the constitution to provide healthcare.
The industry isn't what's important. The human beings that the industry is supposed to care for are important. Killing people for profit is as bad as it gets.
The body of the constitution forms the government and Article one section 8 lists what congress can do. The tenth amendment then says the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Therefore the federal government is limited to the powers enumerated in the constitution.
It is unlawful by definition. No Article enumerates the power to provide a health service. Read the Preamble, it is very clear about the intent of the Constitution. To ".. establish Justice, insure Domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the General Welfare, and Secure the Blessings of Liberty.."
*-Promote-* the general welfare

Provide for the general welfare.
The onus is on you to cite specifically where in the Constitution it is authorized to provide health care.
140 BILLIONS in Christmas bonuses to Bankers this year on top of their salaries and perks WHY??? they don't do any real work, now I know were our countries wealth is going,
Thank you for making this video. If I may respectfully request that our country make the necessary changes to offer our citizens the same health coverage that other progressive countries offer their citizens. I have watched vids from folks who live in the UK, Canada, & Denmark, who have National Health Care coverage & they are COMPLETELY satisfied with their health care coverage.
Do what you must do to bring our country to their level. It is shameful that we are so behind in this situation.
We have our problems here in BC, Canada to. It lies with the Dr.s themselves though. There is much abuse. They perscribe the most costly drugs instead of generic, they order partial test such as MRIs. They sent u 2 incompitent 'specialists' who don't do anything. They pass u around, waits r 6 mo. - 1 yr for scans. It's abuse of the health care & the patients & it happens everywhere. Natives get better health care & more available treatments here because the gov. pays more for them. God Bless!!
Nevertheless, I have folks who I sub to who have held up their health insurance card up to the camera (while shielding their names) and have said that they are completely pleased with their health coverage. I wish I had a card like that.
If you only need it for routine things once a year, cut, scrape, stitches, broken & set, it's fairly good. But it has become sloppy, non-compassionate, blundering, long waits, inconsistant info. The specialist actually said to me "I suppose you thought you were going to come here & I was going to do something to fix u." I replied "It was my Dr. that was under the inpression u could do something, I guess that's why he sent me to u." They r idiots 2 say the least!! But Good luck & God Bless!!
I'm sorry that this happened to you, but the folks I've talked with here on Utube have said quite the opposite. One person said that his grandmother received the best of care when she was sick.
It only take a moment to consider the opposite of having no insurance in our country-you get no care at a regular hospital. None. At all. They will ship you off to the charity hospital, who will have you sign a form that will oblige you to pay the FULL PRICE of your care. No ins? Good luck, bucko
I totally understand your plight, & our HC would top yours anyday but don't think it doesn't have its flaws.
You can die in a hospital emergency waiting room if the receptionist takes 1 look at you & thinks yr OK. My girlfriend attended the E-ward 3 times in 1 day because of stomach pain, the 3rd time they called the police 2 remove her, she screamed she would die so cops wouldn't take her. They found a softball size tumor with exploratory surg.
As soon as you get the public health care though, hospitals will be understaffed & over stocked with patients. They lay in the hallways for days on OR tables because they can't have beds. Nurses assess by eye & tell u to go, your OK even when u are dying. The DR.s under examine, over bill, give pills instead of finding the problem. Pharmacia wins up here. Buy an MRI machine, you'll be rich in no time. The wait 4 one is 1 year minimum & they don't do full procedure, more milking!
Why will hospitals be understaffed if there was a public heath care solution? Why would there be a sudden overstock of patients in the hosptials?
Wait-don't answer. You and I have are now descending into a discussion that entails basic conceptual differences and neither of us will be pleased with the outcome of this discussion.
I wish you well, but I am not going to go there with you.
Right now I work 2 jobs and have no insurance and I have a daughter in college with no insurance. I worry about it every day, but we have an old car that is paid for, no TV and no luxaries, but live pay check to pay check so if we are penalized for no insurance yet do not have options isn't that just another way to penalize people for being poor AGAIN? Yet I make more than quite a few people what are they expected to do, even with a tax credit it would not be enough.
So indeed whilst the gov't panels might make seemingly cold decisions about frivolities which only the most benevolent insurance company (mostly ones from someones employer). In the end these people will have more than they had before.
for without a gov't run program people will have no insurance and therefore be left to themselves with a public option even having a panel of people who decide who gets what treatments which would be better than the current system, as it would be made up of people with at least some medical knowledge who arent driven to make a profit in order to keep their, rather starkly the opposite of those at insurance companies.
So people on this board will only have our best interest in mind? No chance of any other motives such as budget, race, future career, politics, family or friend connections. Just where are you going to find these angels? The truth is that the best panel of people is you and your doctor. The best policy is liberty and freedom from a government with an ever increasing role in our lives.
Nice point but with no money to pay for a doctor and such what panels would their be for those people who cant afford to even go the minute clinic. And i did not say that thay would be perfect i said that they would be better. As being more fair would allow one a higher chance of keeping their jobs their would be more incentive to do so than in an insurance company in which the best way to keep your job is to be unfair and stay in the black.
First, no one can be denied medical care if they need it. Second, why destroy an entire industry for a small number of people? Third, if the free market were allowed to work, prices would be lower. In a true market system, an insurance company has an incentive to provide for its customers.
Also a doctor has a large incentive to prescribe expensive ineffective treatments. As they need money just as we a system that pays well for more effective treatments would meet this problem head on, and hopefullly remedy some of it. Not that doctors cant be great but there are some who aren't.
I understand that it is amazing that this much has been accomplished on the health reform front. However WHY THE HELL IS THEIR NO PUBLIC OPTION that is what is truly needed without it is only a weak blow vs the overpowerful corrupt health care system whereas with with a public option we assure that all americans have healthcare, thereby not bowing to the behemoths who run the insurance companies to be death panels rather than having "panels of life"
Don't take me as a flamer i read the comments of those i disagree with for it is only that which can make us better understand any issue (seeing all sides involved) (Libertarians and independents should be allowed in presidential debates, if this had happened maybe some policy would be different today in a way beneificial to the country rather than a particular politician or party.
Not 3mins in and already making an emotional appeal.
Still waiting for the rationale for making a State and/or Individual matter a matter before the Federal Government.
Gee, is that why the emotional appeal. No lawful justification so make an emotional appeal on the road to further Federal Power and Authority in a matter that isn't of any concern to the Federal Government.
Ahem, still waiting for the rationale that this is a Federal issue when it clearly is not.
No one is cheering these victims for being victims.
If you can quit your sobbing for a moment, please realize I am not responsible for you or anyone you know getting ill. For that reason you should be ashamed of trying to make me feel responsible and demanding from my savings and earnings that would better be spent keeping ME healthy.
How is alright for you to dehumanize me because I'm not a victim?
Oh grow up Maskedphrogg. Don't play the victim by claiming that you are dehumanized by a simple comment.
Remember the painting "This is not a pipe". The same applies to you and internet comments. You are not a victim. A person who has been violated is a victim.
Also questions are meant to make you think. Any emotions brought by said questions cannot be controlled over online comments because they lack tone that voices can project.

DO YOU WANT GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE???
ARE YOU SURE??
Should ALL of the U.S.A. end up like Massachusetts?
Associated Press!
Health care costs continue to rise much faster than the national average. Since 2006, total state health care spending has increased by 28%.
Insurance premiums have increased by 8 to 10% per year, nearly "double" the national average!

Here we go again.
These so called representatives are shameless.

Except they make the emotional appeal because it involves people. We are humans and we have emotions and feelings.
Do you think the civil rights debate wasn't emotional?
Do you think the feminist movement wasn't emotional?
We have to realize that this time we aren't talking about cars that can be replaced. This is about every human that when in pain needs help.
Could you dehumanize the emotion out of 9/11 and the heroes that become victims because of lack of health insurance?

Ahem, still waiting for the rationale that this is a Federal issue when it clearly is not.
No one is cheering these victims for being victims.
If you can quit your sobbing for a moment, please realize I am not responsible for you or anyone you know getting ill. For that reason you should be ashamed of trying to make me feel responsible and demanding from my savings and earnings that would better be spent keeping ME healthy.
How is alright for you to dehumanize me because I'm not a victim?
maskedphrogg 2 years ago
Oh grow up Maskedphrogg. Don't play the victim by claiming that you are dehumanized by a simple comment.
Remember the painting "This is not a pipe". The same applies to you and internet comments. You are not a victim. A person who has been violated is a victim.
Also questions are meant to make you think. Any emotions brought by said questions cannot be controlled over online comments because they lack tone that voices can project.
