  • i mean its pretty difficult to speak african if there is not one person that speaks african and nobody speaks back thats what i can make from it xD

  • trotse Suid-Afrikaner :) sy moet meer afrikaans praat op tv lol

  • is the interviewer actually amazed that she can speak her own native language? newsflash, Piers : there is a world outside the US. there are actually countries where english isn't necessarily spoken by (all of) it's inhabitants, it happens.

  • @drizer4real and Simon is not even from the USA but from the UK

  • That is so funny, hearing her speak Afrikaans. It is a lot like my language (Dutch) so I could understand pretty much everything.

  • @MarylsOKYea i would to know your opinion on coloureds, do you think they should be chased and killed off with the boere/whites? And what about all the others(Indians and Chinese) that were brought as slaves to S.A what are your opinions on them?

  • Sharleez Thrun. Good to know.

  • I don't like P.Morgan, really miss Larry King. However, Charlize Theron has good looks!

  • Dits my huis taal. Ek kan afrikaans en engels praat.

  • Fokken dom etters!!!!

  • What the fuck is Afrikaans?

  • @MPSecare a language

  • @MPSecare , Really ? ...you are on the internet...in the Age of google and shit...and you come here and ask that question?....really?

  • @MPSecare what do you mean with "the fuck"? Is it like you have no clue what Afrikaans is?

You are making a fool of yourself asking such a stupid question on here.

  • @klauskerzel I didn't know what the fuck it was, then someone politely told me. Unlike you.

  • i can understand her and i'm dutch, it hasn't developed too far from dutch i guess.

  • I hate Piers Morgan with a passion

  • @thestaggie I need to visit the Kruger National Park, I need to visit South Africa.

  • @KimmoMusic Afrikaans originates from Dutch and some other languages

  • @agl126 I've studied some Dutch/Flemish in Brussels, Belgium but I forgot most of it, so I don't know what she said. I live in the US since 1994.

  • @ashylarrybitches That's what my mom says about Afrikaans, but I have no opinion aobut it. It's because she said it's mostly the Afrikaners who spoke it, I know there are mixed people who speak it too

  • @Maradrogba Yes, she is, that's where I first saw her

  • @Lw1289 Thanks

  • I hv never heard her speak with Afrikaan accent let alone in Afrikaan

  • @prophetic0311 LOL touché

  • See, African Americans CAN be successful.

  • @prophetic0311 ....heheheehhehe....good one.

  • Hahaha I know what she means, I moved to Australia and am Dutch and people will just randomly go "speak some!" and I just feel it's awkward because it's like you're talking to yourself or thin air in front of someone else, nobody understands or talks back, it's weird.

  • omg is there any way i could possibly hate piers morgan more... i know, non-saffas tend to be so amazed with white people who come from africa, but jesus christ he is just irritating in everything he does lol

  • Sy maak die taal so seksi en dis oorspronklik wat my Afrikaans maak leer.

  • Why is it liberals always like to push the theory that all humans originated in Africa, but make an exception when it comes to Whites in South Africa.

  • @TheCarambah you're fucking stupid...speaking in evolutionary terms...everyone did originate in africa...millions of years ago when we weren't yet humans...but lots of shit happened in between like white salvages invading and raping and torturing people who were living in those countries... so it's understandable that africans don't want white people to invade their land again...so please shut the fuck up you uneducated piece of shit

  • @MonaRocks09 So your point is basically that "humans originated in Africa" is only a valid argument when debating African immigration into Europe, not vice versa.

As for your whole "rape and torture" argument mixed in with a lot of cussing, well, it seems you shouldn't call other people "uneducated piece of shit". Thanks for the laugh though :)

  • @TheCarambah Cursing doesn't determine whether or not a person is educated. I can tell from the quality of your post that you are an uneducated cunt that talks out of your ass. Anyway, about Africans coming into Euro countries...they can do that because they didn't invade them to gut the land and torture the people living there like Europeans did to them....Oh and since you can't even come up with a decent argument or any sort of valid point, I don't know why you bothered to comment.

  • @TheCarambah I know, it doesn't make sense

  • why isn't she protesting the daily butchering of the White Boers by the savage blacks? She could give that ongoing program for genocide some publicity. The Jewish controlled media completely ignores the brutal slaughtering of white farmers in South Africa.

  • @truthishatespeech Because she knows her invader kin should not be there. Black Africans need to wipe out every, single one of those albinoid freaks of nature. I can't believe they are letting those Neandethal things stay in there homeland as long as they are.

  • @MaryIsOKYea Where are you from?

  • @truthishatespeech , easy...because the "genocide" is a figment of your (and your buddies) imagination. your types blames Blacks for being incompetent....but turn arround and credit them for ochastrating a clandestine genocide? where is the "central command" for this genocide? why has white intelligencia and money not being used to expose the leaders/commanders of this genocide?

Am I denying that white farmers are disproportionaly murdered? No? but is it then a genocide? No!

  • @imbabazane w w w(dot)genocidewatch(dot)org/southafrica(dot)html

  • @truthishatespeech ....seen it before, not credible and too biased and subjective...I mean, surely that should be obvious even to you.

  • @truthishatespeech That's sad

  • As a Dutch I seriously can understand her!

  • @Hozmaster Because it's a variation of Dutch.

  • @nellie2581 You don't say...

(Yes, I'm being sarcasting. I'm sure Hozmaster already knows that Afrikaans derives from Dutch).

  • She makes Afrikaans sound super sexy!

  • And btw Khoi san(some coloureds ancestor) and other tribes were first in S.A but blacks that came from other African countries think they are special and deserve special treatment

  • @TheYaazie Thanks for the info

  • The only thing i hate about being south african is that I'm light skinned but my grandparents are malay(there parents where brought to S.A as slaves) but even though of that I'm treated like a foreigner even though my family has been over a 100 years in S.A. if you are not black you're in for a shit time in S.A

  • Shouldn't white people get out of Africa? Let'em be.

  • @dummeswe It's too late

  • @dummeswe Let who be, the blacks? I was born in South Africa too. I have many black friends whom I adore. Should I now leave about what my ancestors did a long time ago? Really? I am as much South African as any other. I'll stay in my country with the rest of my fellow South Africans, regardless of their skincolor, thank you very much.

  • now she has only one thing to do - turn zef^^

  • lol so weird hearing a celeb with a usual american accent speak africaans! fuck i love u Charlize!!

  • She is wonderful! Very beautiful, and speaks afrikaans wonderfully. South Africa should be proud. Africa as a whole should be proud; she is the first African to win an Academy Award!

  • @RullArch90 First Boer. There's no such thing as a white African.

  • fackn hawt.

  • Afrikaans is such a fun language to swear in!!

  • Funny thing is, I completely understood what she said in Afrikaans ^^

  • @SicSeb

I did too. I bet you are dutch or flemish. I am dutch myself and Holland and Africa have a history together. Not one to be proud of if you re dutch though.

  • @Superpiair1 I'm Dutch and I'm damn proud of our achievements.

  • @SicSeb

  • Another thing: I'm Dutch and I can understand perfectly what she is saying. It is not Dutch however, although there are big similarities. It's like Spanish and Portuguese.

  • @AtheistFundamentalis No that's wrong. Spanish and Portuguese are like Dutch and German.

Afrikaans is a direct decent of the Dutch language and until halfway through the 20th century it was called Dutch.

Compared to many Dutch dialects, Afrikaans is much easier to understand.

  • @SicSeb Dutch and German share a common ancestor called Diets (Dutch, Deutsch). So do Dutch and Afrikaans (Nieuwnederlands). Dutch as well as Afrikaans both developed apart from each other to a point that they are no longer one and the same language.

  • @AtheistFundamentalis That is true, but Spanish and Portuguese are about as simmilar as Dutch and German are. Dutch and Afrikaans are far more simmilar than Spanish and Portuguese are.

  • @AtheistFundamentalis Diets? Never heard of it. Both Nederlands and German are Germanic languages and the separation began in the early middle ages. The common ancestor is Old Frankish (nothing to do with French) which is an old middle German language.

  • @Woelfin001 English is also a Germanic language :D

  • @SicSeb Yes, that's what I heard about Afrikaans. I speak Spanish as a third language and sometimes I can easily understand Portuguese. Spanish helped me with my English, because I'm a French speaker, and I didn't speak English fluently.

  • I need to clarify something.

Americans tend to identify themselves as "Italian" or "German" even if al four of their grandparents were born in the US. I guess being just American is not interesting enough. Consequently, they find it odd that a white woman, who must be of European heritage, would identify herself as "African". African-American is used for black people. If your parents came from Suriname, you would still be considered "African-American", it's not a nationality issue, it's ethnic.

  • @AtheistFundamentalis I find that odd as well. Their grandparents-grandparents might have already been in the States, but they still see themselves as Irish-American, Dutch-Americans.

If I were to go technical, I'd probably be German-French-Indonesian Dutch, but I'm just plain old Dutch. We all have roots out of our current borders, there is no denying that.

  • Wow you people are fucked...you go from charlize to african to european to mexican to orange trees.....watch the video...enjoy...move on....jesus h christ

  • @tiffanylifesaver

She's not half black, (well, technically we all are) her ancestors moved back in and enslaved a whole continent is all.

  • I think she is gorgeous. I love how she is half black in a way, but her movie rolls piss me off she always has to be the bitch.

  • Looooooove this woman !!

  • @Rosannasfriend shut the hell up we hijacked the term are you serious? If it wasn't for white people hijacking us from africa we would be called africans and if the white people wouldn't have hijacked the REAL africans land way back then there would be no WHITE africans

  • I'm from South Africa, white south african btw and most of us consider ourselves South African seeing as our ancestors have been here since the 16th century, so no one can me tell I'm a fucking European. They have nothing on me. I'm a white Afrikaaner, SOUTH AFRICAN. Deal with it.

  • @ToxicFallenAngel I can plant an orange tree in an apple orchard, it's still an orange tree, Toxic. And you're still a European who happened to be born in Africa.

  • @MaryIsOKYea Like White Americans, they are basically Europeans.

Not some new super race as some of them think they are.

  • @FGalaxie True.

  • Dis fantasties om dit te hoor :) haha en ja grootbekkie ek stem saam met jou. POES GESIGTE!

  • i love afrikaans

  • her voice is Sexy

  • Afrikaans is basically Dutch...

  • she is not african american! she is Suid-Afrikaanse

  • i didnt know she was swedish....

  • @diazbmw94 lol she isn't she is pure Afrikaaner...nope not even Dutch. It may sound similar but She is an Afrikaaner!!

  • English Translation:

"Piers Morgan, you are an incredibly huge steaming pile of syphilitic cunt-pus and not one member of the human race finds you entertaining! Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to put you on TV? Fuck the fuck off, you severely shredded rectum!!"

  • Okay, now that we established that she's "African-American" does this mean she can get tuition discounts if she wanted to attend a university?

  • C.Theron,si aqntes te admiraba como actriz, ahora te admiro como persona.

    Un caballero Español.

Perteneciente a los Nuevos Tercíos de Flandes.

    !·_M"(

  • I am Dutch and I can undersand what she said..

  • being bilingual makes you look so interesting and badass, how you can speak two languages without effort.. I wonder if I look like that to people when I switch from spanish to english in 1 second

  • @RangaTipamba No. Spanish and English are way too common for that to be impressive.

  • @funnywhiteroots i speak Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and English, is that not impressive? And I'm not Chinese nor Japanese. :D

  • she's pretty white for an african american woman now isn't she?

  • @CeasefireDigital she's just light-skinned .. lol

  • Anyone Dutch could easily understand Afrikaans, because it basically is the same language... with a twist. If anything I think Dutch and Afrikaans are more related to one another than Dutch and German. I remember me talking to someone - me in Dutch and the otehr guy in Afrikaans - via Skype and we understood one another. BTW: I believe InDeGloria's translation is the correct one. Furthermore: "Snaak" is a word we know in the Dutch language as well, meaning 'weird/strange/comical and funny'

  • @Kevin00405

as a german you can understand africaans too, if its spoken slowly. but reading it is not a problem in most cases (just like dutch)

  • @heretic192 True, but German still contains more different words than Dutch when comparing it to Afrikaans. In all my years of learning German, I have faced more difficulty understanding those words than African words.

  • Translation: "It's very nice to speak Afrikaans when there's only one person who speaks Afrikaans, and no-one talks back to you, so it's a bit funny."

  • @Phemar I'm not fluent in Afrikaans at all, but I think she says "It's very difficult to speak Afrikaans if there is nobody who speaks Afrikaans and no-one talks back to you, so it's a bit "snaak" to speak my language." I don't understand "snaak", but I guess it means something like funny/weird/...

  • go Charlize jy is mos Suid Afrikaans gebore en j kan afrikaans praat !!!!

  • Hard to believe that she starred in Monster - she is so beautiful!!!!!!

  • @drpiddleton I know huh

  • Sy praat AFRIKAANS en nie Nederlands nie. Sy kom van Suid Afrika en praat vlot AFRIKAANS!!

  • Theron is of French descent. In the 17th century the King of France decided to kill all protestant French speaksers if they don't convert to catholicism. So these French speakers fled to South Africa where they were safe. South Africa was a Dutch colony and most of these French speakers learned Dutch and today all of them speak Afrikaans. Afrikaans is just the African version of Dutch.

  • Afrikaans sounds very German, i think..

but Charlize is beautiful ,, always she is.

  • julle almal is morone!!!!! Afrikaans is Afrikaans!!! Not dutch not even freaken French and not even near swedish!!! Fok julle almal

  • @GrootBekkie My native language is French and I could not decipher a single word of what she said.

  • her teeth are crooketh and not straight like most big stars and shes a smoker, yuk.

  • @chazs001 well damn...how the hell you see all that? All I see are straight white teeth...you must have a magnifying glass or something to see all that?

  • @chazs001 her teeth aren't crooked, and she doesn't smoke anymore.

  • @chazs001 WTF? Her teeth look very straight to me, and white! You must need glasses...also being from the UK, I wouldn't be talking about having bad teeth! The british are famous globally for their fugly teeth...

  • is Afrikaans a Dutch language??

  • @IMxYOURxDADDY it's a South African bastardised Dutch

  • @UchihaItachiSA & IMxYOURxDADDY

Definitely not. It's a language all of its own, that derives from Dutch and has evolved through three centuries of virtual separation from its 'parent language', under British rule at the Cape. Which is quite different from being 'bastardised". (You wouln't say that English is a bastard of German, or French of Latin, would you?) They share about 95% of their vocabulary albeit with some differences of spelling, pronunciation and, occasionally, meaning.

  • @brineted1010 U r a very negative person my friend.U never have a positive response to any posts.U hate everybody and everything.

  • @brineted1010 you're a faggot, in any language

  • @brineted1010 Only language that's rubbish is what you ignorantly post.

  • @brineted1010 uyaba

  • Ek wil net vir haar om te eet.

  • swedish?

  • Ja its baai snaks

  • Question? is she African American? she is from Africa,

  • @houston4848 africa

  • @houston4848 If someone is first generation, we usually are more specific about where they are from, so she would be South African American.

  • @penguinworm she qualifies for eop programs and ebt.shes african-americann why does black hafta be attached. JK

  • @1986billyk And you're right this guy is the worst thing england has sent us in years.i much prefer jermy kyle though he vents our trash.

  • @houston4848 Yep, that made no sense at all........=)

  • @houston4848 Technically yes, but not in the way we typically think of the term. She is, of course, ancestrally European.

  • @chasef89 Well, technically, every human on Earth is ancestrally African as our species populated the other continents after migrating from Africa. Her ancestors have been living in South Africa for well over 300 years, which is plenty ancestral for me.

  • @houston4848, LOL clever.

  • @houston4848, I would say she is, assuming she is now a U.S. citizen.

  • @houston4848 No because her ancestors come from Europe....not Africa! Only people who has ancestors from Africa and have lived in America for some time can be called African American. She is probably European American now, before that she was European South African

  • @JOSHTRUS Well I guess we are all AFRICAN then because every single person on the planet has a common ancestor who came from Africa.

  • @kingklabe What? That means all whites in America shall call themself Afircan Americans? African American means black. Sorry but Charlize is not black even if she lived in Africa, she is still European. It's obvious

  • @JOSHTRUS she is not european you idiot! she is South African! and if some people say she can call herself African American (which I disagree coz she is South African and not American) its because she is from Africa! Not all white americans are from Africa!

You're only a racist!! If african american only means black to you then call it black americans coz in SA we are white and africans!

  • @bughfl strange, South Africans use to classified themselves as white European and now you want to classify yourself as African?? lol

  • @JOSHTRUS what? no white south african classifies himself as white european! I don't know who you've met, but come to SA you'll see for yourself! Every single whithe South African considers himself a white South African and not a European. Of course we have European origins, but we are South Africans first!

I dont know where u've heard such ridiculous statement my friend

  • @JOSHTRUS European? Well i guess that she's European in the same way that all Americans are Europeans, or any other country that was colonized. But since most countries have been free from their previous colonizers for a good 50-100 years she is a SOUTH AFRICAN

  • @houston4848 She is from South Africa...So yes she is African African. Remember though, Africa is a CONTINENT with many COUNTRIES. Not one big giant country where black people live, speak in clicks, and kill each other. She is speaking Afrikaans, a South African language. Note: Many white people live in South Africa, their accent is almost British, I'd compare it to Australian.

  • @PancakeBooty04 African American.*

  • @PancakeBooty04 LIES! I've seen natgeo TV. You can't fool me.

  • @PancakeBooty04 Almost undermined your own comment there because BRITISH is not an accent.

  • @houston4848 South African - Look it up.

  • @houston4848 yes

  • @houston4848 ..............seriously? African American? she's South African, thats it, she was born and raised in South Africa. She picked up the American Accent when she began her career in America

  • @MoRnEforeverflank she is an American citizen. She is African American.

  • @Rosannasfriend

Look up "African American" in a dictionary.

  • @MoRnEforeverflank she is African and an American citizen. She is technically what an African American SHOULD be, if the black Americans didn't hijack the term, because they wouldn't know what to call themselves otherwise.

  • @Rosannasfriend Wrong. African American is a political term used for descendants of slaves from Africa. The term includes a continent because the descendants did not know specific countries unlike people who immigrate from Africa. Real African immigrants don't want to use the term "African American" because they can use term Somalian American, Kenyan American, Ghanaian American, etc. I guess you are subconsciously acknowledging the Boer (Charlize Theron) is not a real African in America.

  • @MaryIsOKYea I know what it is, I am talking about what the term "technically" means, not what is used as. As an African, I have always wished my people, who should rightly be called African Americans, would be called that. We are Africans living in America, so we should have more right to that than people who are just "descendents" of Africa. I honestly don't know who you think you're educating here, it is ridiculous.

  • @Rosannasfriend You're not African. I think you know that. You probably wouldn't even be caught in an elevator alone with a real African (Black person - whether it's the type of African that was forcefully removed from Africa or the type that is immigrating here today). And real African immigrants who wish to hyphenate their identities do so by doing what other immigrants do - using the COUNTRY they come from as their identity, not the continent, you phoney.

  • @Rosannasfriend lmao

  • @houston4848 No moron she is not african american. She is an South African.

  • @Labello01 hey moron, is South Africa on the continet of Africa? or you just did not know that?

  • @houston4848 If she's from Africa then how the fuck could she be American?

  • @cquesada22 She became an American citizen in 2007.

  • @houston4848 yes, she is

  • @houston4848 Nope, shes just a cracker who was born in south Africa. Which doesn't make her African by the way. Look it up honkey!

  • @Jett16Stylez hey kaffir and what r u? your ancestors probably come from another tribe that didnt even invent writing! white south africans are africans, just swallow it!

so the millions of black europeans are not europeans for you? you're just a fucking racist who will never get anything right in his mind ever

  • @Jett16Stylez She's still more African than you'll ever be, She's actually born and raised there.

  • @neonknees If some Mexican immigrant had a baby in your house, it wouldn't mean that your house now belonged to that baby. Whites are squatters in Africa. Whites developed, as a race, in Europe. It happened after some Blacks left Africa and moved north. Contrary to popular myth, Whites are not "African" even going back thousands of years ago. The birth of the 'white race' happened north of Africa. You're more closer related to Aryans/Asians (Indian) than African. Oh, and Neanderthals. :)

  • @houston4848 African American in the sense that she was born in Africa and moved to America but not genetically what we would call "African-American". I'm African American because my ancestors come from Sub-Sahara Africa and many generations later gave "birth" to me in America. It's confusing, I know. But I see her as an African-born Caucasian.
