  • I'm loving your rally cap. I've been looking to get a hat like that for a long time. You always seem to have amazing hats of which I'm usually quite jealous. Where do you tend to buy your hats?

  • thanks for posting your videos and the encouragement to others to post theres

  • if you're still looking for a good aromatic, check out maple street by sutliff. I was a little skeptical at first, but i have dedicated two of briars to this blend. Great burley blend with just the right amount of casing, smells as good as it tastes. love the videos, thank you so much.

  • @LicoriceTwist I will add it to the wish list LT. I love GW's Rum Flake which has a maple casing....

  • Hello I was going to make a viedo but what kind of camera do I need and how do you post them

  • Today

  • Looking forward to trying some of those tobaccos. Thanks for giving a noob some ideas.

  • Just looking at some older vids and if you don't mind me asking are those ventriloquist figures in the back ground? If so have you posted any vids with them? I should do one with mine sometime but haven't practiced in years so I'm very rusty.

    --Mark

  • @darfirst if you scroll down my vids list you will see a couple with puppets, old tins and corn cobs video's. My wife does puppetry, I just like to throw in a bit of humor now and then, we pipers get a bit too serious sometimes.

  • @blovanko 4noggins and smokingpipes are two of the most popular in the US

  • i find this very interesting ........do you guys smoke marijuana in your pipes? I don't smoke marijuana any more but I am interested in pipe tobacco. I hate cigs there nasty but hookah tobacco is smooth with a pleasant buzz. Is pipe tobacco similar when you find the right variety. Thanks for the video DUBLIN.....appreciate it from across the pond.

  • @TheRONPAUL2012 Sorry for a late reply, yes you can smoke weed in a pipe, but most are just two big in size. Pipe tobacco is similar to hookah in the sense that you still get a mild but relaxing high even if the tobacco is low in nicotine as is most hookah tobacco.

  • Solani Burley flake is a top purchase of mine, I love it, I am glad to see you share the same opinion! Cheers and happy pipes!

  • excellant video and liked what you had to say and agreed with most of it. I also smoke a lot of Bulls eye and Luxury navy twist two of my favorites-Luxury Twist is also good. We no longer get things like Amphora in the states as they got tired of all the anti smoking junk and law suits-to bad. I also don't care for Latkia or not much of it. Please join me with my new vidio series. Jason

  • what tobacco would you recommend someone who is starting pipe smoking

  • @tommo6930 Tom there is so many, firstly I'd say a tin rather than a packet, Something like Sherlock Holmes by Peterson's would be ideal.

  • my favorites samuel gawith's skiff , perfection and squadron leader... yummmm ... love it all

  • I also like Samuel Gawith. But for me, it has to be Squadron Leader. You make a LOT of good points in this video. The absolute perfect pipe tobacco for me could be your worst pipe tobacco experience ever. Also, I don't see it now, but I hope we never see the day where we have pipe "cliques" here on youtube. I see us pipe smokers as a family and we should treat each other as such.

Thank you for posting this great video

    Jon

  • @wx5nco Thanks for stopping by, I've got a tin of Squadron in the cellar, yet to try it. I shall do my best to ensure the cliques don't take over... :)

  • I just love your attitude.Fantastic seeds for thought.

  • Solani burley is for sure a top 3 = my tobacconist recomendd it - i bought 2 tins of it and its one of my favorites now

  • nice of you to acknowledge the people who watch your videos but don't post one themself - but still enjoy !!

  • Good to see you making longer videos in 2010, hope your holiday season was a good one. I had sent you a message a while back about Lane Limited Maple Rum, lately I've picked up their BCA blend which is amazing. It's now my new favorite, I've never smoked a tabacco as smooth or that burnt so cool. Most would consider it an aromatic, and while the room note is amazing, on the smokers end you get a very nice light vanilla flavor. I'll send you a pouch of it if you wish to try it.

  • Borkum Riff??? Please don't put it a a good pipe, use a cob!!!!

  • Great video! Samuel Gawith is a real nice tobacco company I think, with many good blends.

    Cheers

    Simon

  • I love 1792.....super strong and totally unique.

  • Great to see you back!!

    Happy new year!

I have to agree with you that it is great to see the pipe community growing so much.

    -Matthew

  • Mac Baren Va No.1 IS my top favorite Va smoke, it is rated 2stars on TBR, tobacco reviews are mostly unreliable and unwarranted, often based on statistical facts, just try it for and by yourself.

    Khaldoun

  • Khal, I totally agree with you on VA No.1, I love the stuff and also Golden Blend, TBR can be a big misleader too.

  • Great video !!!

  • Great video as always dub just wanted

to let you know I just completed one year

as a pipe smoker and everything I know

about taking care of pipes I owe to

you I just wanted to say thanks

  • Happy New Year Dub,another freat Video

  • Great video mate.. I try and get something new everytime i see Clive.. Best, Tim

  • Very nicely said sir!

    All the Best in 2010!

    Michael

  • Dub, I greatly enjoy your videos, your two part series on pipe tobaccos was especially helpful. As new pipe smoker your recommendations set me off in the right direction and introduced me to many blends I probably would have never tried. There may not be the 'best' tobacco out there but it's fun trying to find it! Thanks much, looking forward to the next video!

  • Some great words there Dub!

    Take care!!

  • Hello my friend ...i have noticed a large recent influx as well...its great!...and Long Golden Flake is top stuff...have some sitting right here :) cheers!

  • Nice video and I agree with your thoughts on both the best tobacco and new pipe community videographers.

  • dub, thanks again for another interesting, informative video, love ya man!

  • Hello Dub

Great to see a new video, enjoyed the topic very much. You gotta love all the choices out there when it comes to pipe tobaccos. So much to discover.

    Keep up the good work.

    Cheers

    Mark

  • Thanks a lot for all the videos dub...I'm definitely one of the "newbies" to the pipe world and I'm just facinated with it. I can't learn enough and once I found your channel I quickly subscribed. Greatly appreaciate all the advice, I have several tins of your suggestion on their way to me, six pipes in the collection so far and having a blast! Keep up the videos and thanks again for everything.

  • after your plethora of tins given at Christmas, I almost thought you were going to say "there is nun" :-)

  • @hook: Zing! good one :)

  • Your video title certainly caught my interest :-)

  • Same here.

  • Happy New Year! Good Video.

  • Oh, and by the way, I'll let you in my "click" but there's a waiting list, so be patient. It's very prestigious you know.

  • Well done and well said. Although, since you are a pipe god, then whatever tobacco you like is obviously the best tobacco in the world. So, that solves it! ; )

  • Well said Pearce, room for everyone!

  • you never dissapoint. thanks!

  • First class! A great message for everyone here. I am finding new pipesmokers on the tube almost daily and am always delighted when I do.

  • Thanks for encouragement and advice for the community.

  • Great to see your doing well in 2010. Cool new pipe you got there.

    G

  • A latin phrase, Non desputatus de gustupus est. Meaning there is no disputing taste. To each their own. My favorites have been Yenidje highlander, 3 oaks syrian, and bobs chocolate flake.

  • Phew! Properly it is:GUSTIBUS NON EST DISPUTANDUM! "Si tacuisses philosophus manisses"!

    Cheers!

  • @Xrposiedon

I love Yenidje Highlander. Good stuff!

  • A great point you've made and I think it is every pipe smokers' endeavor to find their worlds best tobacco. Nice to see you online.

    Happy New Year

    -BJ

  • I just picked up a tin of G.L. Pease "Union Square" Its good stuff. I also picked up Erinmore Flake and Samuel Gawaith's Navy flake. I haven't smoked those two yet. Wish i could get my hands on some 3 nuns, but i don't think its sold anywhere in the U.S. Bummer. Another great video Dub, you've done it again.

    Alex

  • Thanks for the video, Dub. I've learned a lot from Tobaccoreview, it really is incredible. Also, I'm a commentor who can't yet do videos. It's nice to feel part of the community none the less.

    Have a good one,

    Chad

  • happy 2010 to you, too, Dub - thanks for the vid - great summation of the hobby & the YT community - take care, eh! MM

  • Another great video! Thanks.

  • hey thats what i do, hey I must be doin' somethin' right!

  • Indeed fines words Dub and as a newbie I found them both welcoming and encouraging. What a thrill it is to be part of such a community!

  • Happy New Year to you too. Couldn't come at a better time. I now do not have to obsess over trying to find Three Nuns because there IS no perfect tobacco and a good pipe does not have to be expensive. Cheers!

  • Great words for the community. And even if you just have a video or two, it's something for people to get to know you by as you leave comments!

  • @ Joffre: That's exactly how I feel about it too. It's always good to put names with faces.

  • Great Video Dub, I loved the overview of some of your current favorite tobaccos... variety is the spice of life after all.

  • great to c u again dub,,always a delight to c ur vids,,i do agree on the matter of nothing is perfect and pipe tobacco is included,,i hv once liked a blend which was dunhill night cap but the smell is offensive in every way. holger is a fine flake indeed but i would be extra careful with tht riff blend..the community is growing bigger thats for sure and its a luxury to hv more and more fellas in this companionship

    cheers

    ahmad

  • Thanks for the information,i agree each to his own everyone likes something different.

  • Hey Dub,

    Careful with that Borkum Riff.

  • very sound advice.....I'll keep the fire hose close by.

  • Good to see you online again Dub! I had a bowl of the "Dub's Own English" the other day and I still feel it's one of the best english mixtures I've ever smoked.

    All the best from Sweden,

    Mike

  • Mike Dubs Own English is getting even better, I added more latakia and cigar leaf....it's shear perfection, but still not the best in the world!

  • You know I'm a willing, cold weather, test subject!

  • i agree about the comments as well. it is amazing to see the growth of this community!

    always a pleasure to watch.

    thanks!

    -jeff-

  • I was wondering with the title and 'more info' had you just had a very impulsive moment after a bit of rum and a good bowl! :-)

    Good advice.

  • Thanks Dub for your Opinion on the tobacco and I agree about the comments and new people in the community here.

Always a joy watching your videos.

    Salam

  • Hey Dub, really nice Video thanks for that. My favourite at the moment is Davidoff Flake Medaillon and Navy deluxe Rolls by Dunhill. All the best . Paul
