@MegaAkad When the final version of windows 7 was actually released I purchased an external CD/DVD drive and installed windows 7 that way. I think windows xp is best for the 1000HE though tbh. I'm on XP now.
i had been running win7 on my 1000he for 3 months now and everything is OK, i even think the video performance on youtube is much smoth than in XP. PD: OBVIOUSLY 2RAM upgrade
@cuchooo I'm running Win 7 also, but the only thing that kinda ticks me off is not having the 1024x768 scroll support like windows XP has. I only have 1024x600 and 800x600.
@BloodyClaymore that very true, i forgot that, the moniter is supose to support 1024x768, in some web pages you would have to decrease the ZOOM so you can display it, i guess we will have to wait for asus
Thanks for the video. I'm now running a dual boot with XP. Still use XP more to be honest.
Does anyone know if OFFICIAL Windows 7 drivers/apps are coming for the EEEPC 1000HE?
I mean it all works ok, but I was wondering if the hybrid engine actually works under windows 7, as it has different power management features from XP.
See my comment below regarding re-installation of the hybrid engine in Win XP2 compatibility mode. If you install using this method it will work correctly. I've been using this system running RC 7100 for some months now and have experienced absolutely no problems at all. I've also tested RTM 7600 on the machine and it also works perfectly.
Win 7 picks up 99.9% of the drivers. Wireless works flawlessly, Install updated ACPI driver from ASUS for better video performance. Hot keys require re-instalation of ASUS EEE Instant Key in WIN XP (SP2) compatibility mode and install the super hybrid engine also in XP2 compatibility mode. WIN 7 can be installed via a thumb drive. Have been running it flawlessly for two months now getting around 7.5 hrs batter life on power saver mode with WIFI on. Great little portable machine.
Is everything else working though? Such as the wireless? Like you don't need to install any drivers for the wireless to work. And what about the shortcut keys on top of the netbook? Do they work as well? Please replay, i want to be sure before i install this on my netbook..
Got to the point thanx man i was on XP im goin to 7. Thanx Peace!
