Looks great. I don't understand the supposedly heritage-inspired unwillingness to push the envelope (witness the recent prog on King's Cross station). If you don't stretch visual boundaries every now and then, they get stiff and stale, leading to same old, same old.
why would you do that in hoxton square? we already got priced out of the area.........the markets.........camden markets as well...........everything in london is getting so clean and designy.....where's the soul of the city gone?.....is there no history left? do we all have to go to rome or madrid to feel that we can walk around old decrepit buildings ?......
god, this building is so inspiring. but i do agree with rbanks2. this building is most exciting from above. most of the amazing roof contouring are not visible from street level or within the building.
I have a problem with visualizations that spend so much time with overhead shots that will only ever be seen by users of Google Earth, or people flying into Heathrow. At the pedestrian level this building looks rather...pedestrian. I'd love to see these visualizations also include signage, light fittings and the other detritus that typically mess up a building. I'd hate to see a building like this ruined by small printouts stuck to the sloping walls saying 'mind your head'.
you 're making such a good point. I totally agree with you. But still the building has to be regarded as a structure in its whole so this need of an aerial view arises.
Zaha's buildings breathe life into design. I guess, and hope, her stuff is influencing most concious designers today — graphics, video, architects, etc.
