no, you cant, the lower current specs on the newer power supply are setup to match the requirements of a redesigned cpu/gpu, and in no way will work on a X360 that requires 14.2 amps.

I'm pretty sure the elite is a falcon, since it's 175 W, not 203 W like the original. Also, the elite has HDMI, so, it's not the original board found on the original 360.

means yours isnt a falcon, check the amp rating on the console too, if its 14.2 its a falcon, if its 16.5 its a zephyr/xenon which are the launch models the guy in the video said about, you have a high chance of rrod with the 16.5A ones.

lot 837 is very recent and FDOU made falcon ones, so yeah chances are yours is a falcon, if it has 14.2A on teh console and 175W on the power brick then its guaranteed, hope this helps.

Hate to break it to you but you got the bad xbox 360 that overheats and gets the rrod. Dont buy the holiday or bundle packs as microsoft has been putting old refurbished xbox 360s in the bundles instead of new ones.

They actually do have the Elite falcons out, I recently bought one and i checked the numbers, did the flashlight test and it all checked out. Its the one with the new 120 gig Hard drive in case you plan on looking for one.

Older XBOX360's are good at RRoD'ing (hardware failure), due to extreme heat and other problems. The new 360's, codenamed Falcon, use both a 65nm processor and 64nm graphics processing chip, meaning that it uses less electricity, and generates less heat than an older 360 does. And less heat = a good thing.

Micrasys, Yes, it's definitely a falcon. Anything lot 750+ is pretty much definitely a falcon, and anything with a lot number of 800+ is DEFINITELY a falcon or jasper if its 830+.

You're right. They started shipping Falcon in December, at least. Mine was actually an Arcade model, but it did, indeed, have the Falcon and newer heatsink arrangement.

The BEST way to tell is to look INSIDE the case, through the vent holes. Look around online for guides about what you should see.

makaveli7outlaw i figured it out, i had an old elite that i got around christmas that wasnt the falcon i sent it to repair and got a new xbox 360 elite, the manufactured date was a good bit after 2008 so yeah my new one has the falcon but all i sent to repair was the xbox so i still have the old 203 powerbrick, but i heard thats not a problem so yeah the xbox has a falcon chip buy the power brick is still 203. thanks for the help man you rock.
