  • He was so damn right

  • JAPAN!!! Does he ever get tired of being wrong. And if WW2 got us out of the depression then it makes sense to spend the trillions on wars instead of infrastructure as the New Deal and stimulus in Japan didn't work? Keynesianism and modern economics is a joke and is not a real science. Economics has transformed from the dismal science to the absolutely abysmal science.

  • The problem with the Bush tax cuts was that Bush didn't curb or control spending.

  • How do you keep this heavy government stimulus spending from crowding out private investment when it's the private sector that creates most jobs?

  • hehehe... this is going to blow up in peoples faces. Why is there health care regulation in there? Which, is truly universla, literally, in that there will be no choice in health, so you will be forced to support big pharma, and expensive radiation. Oh well. America is going to get a lot more sicker. Over a thousand pages and most politician never read the well over 1000 pages. No time to. The American people are fucked!

  • And you're laughing at this? Assumint it does happen it's pretty sick that you find it amusing.

  • Laughing is a sign of shock, not amusement. Laughing is a very ambiguous emotion. Good try in not understanding. Oh well.

  • "Good try in not understanding?" Laughing isn't an emotion, it's an action. Happy, sad, angry--those are emotions.

  • Doesn't help your argument now does it. Care for anymore strawman concerning the meaning behind my laughter?

  • Interpreting Krugman:

"Need even more $." Go into debt faster to make $ fail. Create a global central bank. (Bernanke was his mentor; in a Jan. interview, he approved of all B. has done)

Compare PK to a British Nobel winner : Bail-out suicidal to the dollar. Let businesses fail. Take short recession v. long depression.

"Bush's tax cuts didn't work & these won't either." [Bogus! Bush's cuts went to mega-rich; these all don't.] Tax cuts can't be controlled by the banksters.

  • tax cuts dont get people to spend money in places that can create jobs, therefore taxes are worthless right now.

That is taxes are unlikely to be spent on goods/services. Besides, tax cuts are worthless for al the people losing jobs. We need job creaton, not tax cuts.

Tax cuts have never been proven to encourage business to hire people. Prove otherwise.

  • Oops! I wrote deficits went down under Reagan... I meant Clinton. Sorry for the confusion.

  • I prefer the Democratic leadership's tax policy - just don't pay 'em!

All joking aside, the largest deficit increases in the past 30 years have come from Republicans. The only time it went down was under Reagan. Democrats need to memorize that and repeat it on the news every chance they get. Republicans need to learn the meaning of "Country First" and respect voices like Krugman. Until then, 80% of American will continue our decline while the rest continue obscene profits of the past 30 years.

  • Smart guy. Old Abe Lincoln would not be doing any tax cuts. He would be looking for a way to stick it to the rich so he could use the money to build something needed and BIG. Stimulating the economy. I am against tax cuts. Better to cover California's deficit and each and every state's. The money would flow just as fast and it would help everybody. At least this year.

  • Krugman knows his stuff.

  • @cvjucla3 yea, that stimulas worked in ww2 right? wrong! and did not work here a year and half later. of course, spend more money!!! obama has spent what now, two trillion so far and unemployment is near ten percent but should have never risen above eight percent? what bullshit!!!!!!!!!!
