I wouldnt call her a worst case scenario, but she went from hottie to mommie in 60 seconds. Blame nature. Very few women survive pregnancy with their hots intact.
I think its practically intentional. It helps to be younger when you drop, too. The bounceback is easier. Leeves was 40, so ther ya go. She looked damn good for 38, though. I was surprised. I cant imagine the pressure she was under coming back to the show post-partum, trying to recapture her hots. She must've been going nuts.
the only problem with daphne's accent is the way she says 'can't', it just doesnt really get prnounced that way much in England. Bugs me. Also when she talks about Frasier's 'knickers', men dont wear knickers only women. Oh well. Still a perfect sitcom.

I know what you mean.. but keep in mind she has been living in the US for a few years now. I'm an Aussie and have been in the US for 6 years and have started to (unconsciously) pronounce some words in an American way. Just some food for thought.
Jane leeves is the worst case senario of what happens after pregnancy: she got all bloated lost color in her skin (look at the ep b4 this one and then this one) and her acting became progressively WORSE. I watch them everyday so I know whereof I speak.
In that last episode of season 7 and this one Niles is 6 thousand times happier of a character than in any episode before. He seems like an entirely different person...:D
I don't know what to say. It's nice they finally got together (Niles and Daphne) but the charm of it was the fact that Niles loved Daphne from afar and that she never knew it, her constant innocense on the subject if you want. Never did actually pictured them together and really thought that Mel was a really good match. Donny on the other hand didn't seem right for Daphne even though he is a real nice guy.
maris is beyond human comparison... and they just made her more and more like maris so we wouldn't feel bad. Mel had her flaws but she didn't exactly control Niles, just wanted to make him better, and now he had the potential to tell her "No, I can pick out my own tie, thank you very much!" but Daphne and Niles never thought clicked, the charm of it was that Niles drooled over D. but she never had those feelings before she found out.
I don't know, sometimes it takes the blabbering of someone else to realize you love another person.
Personally, I don't think Niles would have been completely happy with Mel. Donnie never seemed right for Daphnie, either. I would rather have seen them both single than married to other people.
Indeed, Donnie was wrong for Daphne but she didn't feel anything for Niles until she found out so I don't know what to say about that. As for Mel, he wouldn't be totally happy with her but in real life, who is totally happy with another person?
Yes, that's a bit of a controversy. I mean, they don't even know how happy they'd be together. I adore them as a couple, but I have yet to see how the relationship turns out.
I will say that I didn't actually develop a crush on someone once without the comment of another person. Whether it turned out to be ligit or not, I'll probably never know, but I've felt the power of others' interference before.

I agree, but I disagree on their actions. Niles should have settled things before anyone would have gotten hurt. It's true his relationship with Daphne just got better but Donnie was really hurt as you can see in the next episodes and he doesn't seem to get over it and he is really a great guy, just not the right one for Daphne.
Yes, I think it was way too messy the way the writers had it set up. It left both of them in a pit of problems that could only serve to complicate their new relationship. True, it made it more fun and jaw-dropping, but in the long run it was a heck of a situation to clear out for everyone.

Niles and Daphne must be horribly inconsiderate.
There was three glasses of wine and the remaining bottle sitting on the counter (put there by Frasier after the bad tasting and still visible when Daphne comes in). It isn't there just a few moments later as they start to drive and one can only conclude that they flew off.
Such indifference to Martin's mobil home!

the only problem with daphne's accent is the way she says 'can't', it just doesnt really get prnounced that way much in England. Bugs me. Also when she talks about Frasier's 'knickers', men dont wear knickers only women. Oh well. Still a perfect sitcom.

I wasnt really asking for a reply, that was just my own opinion and not a fact. Look at what I wrote again. I said 'most' not all and I certainly didnt say she shouldnt pronunce 'cant' that way. Also, yes she was born in Salford but check out any interview you like and she has a southern accent. Sorry if I offended you.

I know what you mean.. but keep in mind she has been living in the US for a few years now. I'm an Aussie and have been in the US for 6 years and have started to (unconsciously) pronounce some words in an American way. Just some food for thought.

Jane leeves is the worst case senario of what happens after pregnancy: she got all bloated lost color in her skin (look at the ep b4 this one and then this one) and her acting became progressively WORSE. I watch them everyday so I know whereof I speak.

I don't know what to say. It's nice they finally got together (Niles and Daphne) but the charm of it was the fact that Niles loved Daphne from afar and that she never knew it, her constant innocense on the subject if you want. Never did actually pictured them together and really thought that Mel was a really good match. Donny on the other hand didn't seem right for Daphne even though he is a real nice guy.

maris is beyond human comparison... and they just made her more and more like maris so we wouldn't feel bad. Mel had her flaws but she didn't exactly control Niles, just wanted to make him better, and now he had the potential to tell her "No, I can pick out my own tie, thank you very much!" but Daphne and Niles never thought clicked, the charm of it was that Niles drooled over D. but she never had those feelings before she found out.

I don't know, sometimes it takes the blabbering of someone else to realize you love another person.
Personally, I don't think Niles would have been completely happy with Mel. Donnie never seemed right for Daphnie, either. I would rather have seen them both single than married to other people.

Indeed, Donnie was wrong for Daphne but she didn't feel anything for Niles until she found out so I don't know what to say about that. As for Mel, he wouldn't be totally happy with her but in real life, who is totally happy with another person?

Yes, that's a bit of a controversy. I mean, they don't even know how happy they'd be together. I adore them as a couple, but I have yet to see how the relationship turns out.
I will say that I didn't actually develop a crush on someone once without the comment of another person. Whether it turned out to be ligit or not, I'll probably never know, but I've felt the power of others' interference before.
It's hard to move on when your hearts set on someone else.

I agree, but I disagree on their actions. Niles should have settled things before anyone would have gotten hurt. It's true his relationship with Daphne just got better but Donnie was really hurt as you can see in the next episodes and he doesn't seem to get over it and he is really a great guy, just not the right one for Daphne.

Yes, I think it was way too messy the way the writers had it set up. It left both of them in a pit of problems that could only serve to complicate their new relationship. True, it made it more fun and jaw-dropping, but in the long run it was a heck of a situation to clear out for everyone.
I felt bad for Donnie, not so much for Mel.
But yeah, not the best way to go about things.

Niles and Daphne must be horribly inconsiderate.
There was three glasses of wine and the remaining bottle sitting on the counter (put there by Frasier after the bad tasting and still visible when Daphne comes in). It isn't there just a few moments later as they start to drive and one can only conclude that they flew off.
Such indifference to Martin's mobil home!
I guess they were just too much in love to notice.
