  • holy crap, didn't realize most of these comments are from over a year ago.

  • the sound engineering on here is impeccable. blows me away.

  • best instrumental album ever

  • this song made me weep the first time I heard it. It still does sometimes

  • lol from 3:20 on is so fucking epic....

  • What's with the Illuminati eye above Steve's head. He's not one of them... Is he?

  • @DistortedV12 that's the Third Eye Chakra. although i think the whole Illuminati thing is phony bologna, they got that idea from the ancient Hindus.

  • such an amazing song, i feel honored to have the privilege to listen to such amazing music, easily one of my favorite songs of all time

  • when did this came out? year?

  • @littelG333 - Passion & Warfare in 1990.

  • the first time I heard it i thought he had 4 hands, ha ha dude I'm still thinking it!!!

  • 3 people hate music

  • @SXSic as how Steve Vai said on the video of for the love of god, we are maybe humans, but we stil being animals; he was talking about them!!

  • beautiful music... opens up your mind's eye... no one like vai

  • I saw steve and stu in a little bar in mexico bout 20 yrs ago when this album first came out. they are truly masters in their own reich.

  • like u fret tapping steve? 4.29 - ?

  • Sorry Ice Ive gotta say it too that is unmistakeably Stu Hamm

  • That is a Carvin X100B Head is using on this recording. The most under-rated amp series in history, the Carvin X series simply blow away many over-rated over-priced amps. The new Carvin X100B reissue is better than ever and at $669 US can not be beat. Awesome amp!

  • maradona-hand of god....pfffttt

  • i think it's vai himself who does the bass solo, might be wrong on that

  • @timelordaxl7 Steve does play some bass on the album , but that break is DEFINITELY Stu Hamm :0)

  • Hi, i´m Sergio Pacholka, take a look of my channel,

and you will see covers of guitarists like Malmsteen,

Moore, Vai, Gilbert, Satriani and more!

    I will not desappoint you!!

    Cheers friend, take care!

  • thumbs up if you love the album cover

  • @THExMOOSExGOTxLOOSE it's a bit trippy

  • billie's bass solo kicks ass !!!! :P

  • @IceGuitarist23 the bass player is Stuart Hamm

  • @patriot3dx STUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

  • illuminati triangle up his head... stll this song rocks;p

  • this guy does indeed rock lots, i wasnt really into shreddy stuff til i heard this album...

  • the intro up till 1:07 sends me up the wall!!!

  • tasty tasty tasty tasty.....

  • that sweep at 0:55 is just ridiculous. This song is just amazing and no one can or will ever be able to play guitar like Vai.

  • Carvin X100B FTW!

  • that effect on 4:05 - 4:10 is a edge tremollo whammy bar, you can see steve using this by watching blue powder live at astoria video, he do that in the improvisation part

  • @AlexandreGR you snap it back and the tremelo "wobbles" causing the not to gargle

  • Carvin 100XB. Probably the most underrated amp of all time.

  • @kevinneslund Underrated and probably the best sounding amps ever played.

  • carvin amplification = underrated

  • @twst1 i agree. i had a carvin bass amp. 300 watts of full tube power to knock you off your feet.

  • The 4:05-4:10 is simply a wah pedal.

  • i still don't know what the hell 4:05 - 4:10 is....

  • @patapatapon777 He's pretty much hitting the tremolo bar while playing notes on the fretboard. That's what makes that weird effect.

  • yeah i have seen him do that live but dosn't really sound the same....

  • Yeah. He pushes the tremolo bar down a bit and lets it go so it bounses a little.

  • 3:25 - 3:31 is just the best sound ever!! Got to love Stevie!!!

  • Damn, alot of good memories i get by this on my older days... this is how i met my girl a long while ago. i performed this song at high school and i saw her standing there... i still love her as back in that time, this song has so much soul. it's plain fantastic

  • 0:51 to 0:59 destroys me. sends me numb. :O

  • Yeah I hear ya, that phrase is just so fluid...mind bending.

  • The harmony guitars at 1:30-2:00 are so sick, I used to nerd out over those parts hardcore in high school

  • I used to nerd out over this entire album during high school, until my geek juice was all over it.. always good to give it a re-listen once in a while!

  • best song ever made heart ,soul, drive emotions a prism of lifes meaning sad and happy fountain of life giving soul vibes and funky.virtuosity extremely exact .the best man big time.cmd7572

  • If Steve Vai and Micheal Amott were in the same band it would be so awesome! I know there's quite a difference between them and their styles etc. But they are both kings of the six strings.

  • @daglasses2

Except Steve prefers 7 string guitars ;)

  • isnt the JEM a 6 string?

  • There are both 6 and 7 string models but Steve is an avid 7 string player, Mr Vai is the one responsible for bringing 7 string guitars to rock and metal music with this here Passion and Warfare album. :D

  • ahhhhh

  • Jem is 6 string

    Universe is 7 string

  • Not any more :)

  • Oh yeah a agree with you malicedixmois XD

  • yea your right man there is range of emotion..i'm just sayin that Steve kind of arrange this peice almost in a classical musical orchestra style. there 's just so many random parts and it doesn't keep steady.. in music there is a beginning ,middle, and a end, this was just everwhere

  • Hmm on this album cover steve vai looks kind of like the lead singer Bill Kaulitz from The Tokio Hotel

  • I always thought Steve kinda looked like a distant relative of Trent Reznor, lol.

  • The reason this sounds so different is it was recorded for a product demo of a modeling amp by I wanna say randall way back in like 83. He ended up putting it on this cause it's so bad ass.

  • @Gtrsecks

It was done on a Carvin X100B - pure tube - no modeling whatsoever.

  • Lol, this song is such a trip

  • this song is trippy as hell

    perfect song for droppin acid

  • 1:39 to 1:47 : TOTAL EARGASM

  • Did he use a jem for recording this? The tone is so different

  • he use theuniversal 7 strings!!!

  • universe. yeah its quite universal as well

  • Comment removed

  • Probably lowered the volume knob in the guitar, which lowers gain, making the sound more clean.

  • So ahead of it's time...

  • best vai song, eveeeer

  • This would be perfect to have hot passinate sex to

  • @Bostonmisfit dude omg that would b sick!!!!

  • @Bostonmisfit you misspelled passionate

  • @Bostonmisfit tender surrender too

  • with your mom

  • @Bostonmisfit with your mom

  • @Bostonmisfit

  • @Bostonmisfit It is!

  • im gonna learn it now its just soo good

  • guess the bitches are a reminder that this is one of those songs to make love to ;after all the album is passion and warfare yes fun intended, this song is so awesome.

  • v∆i for the win!

  • why can't i find "my still bleeding heart on here"?

  • i got blue powder on my LINE6 SPIDER lol

  • me 2!

  • I got it in my Carvin X100B ;)

  • are those good amps.

  • Well.. Steve Vai and Frank Zappa used them, both being the biggest quality nerds through time, yes.. they are good.

  • LOL....why is there bitches in related videos

  • hahah i didnt know what you were talking about until i looked to the right of the page

  • ahahahaha

  • ..for me....his masterpiece!

  • epitome of tone in his hands. I love this tune. I too got it in Guitar player on a Soundpage in like 1986. Those Carvin amps were actually good. My buddy had one. Very pedal friendly.

  • I got this track as a kid on a thin plastic single in a guitar player magazine. It was a Stevie Vai ad for Carvin amps. I played that square piece of plastic w the single pressed into it - until it was completely worn out. Even then, I knew that if I had a Carvin amp I wasn't gunna sound anything like this!

  • did you say thank you for the comment?

  • amazing !

  • just how i woulda done it

  • wooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaah, it's makin me crazy!!!! awesome!!!

  • This bass solo blew my mind !!!! Always !!!
