error macro is the glitch mk1 from a mixture of subzero and scorpian. later in mk3 they combined error and macro to make ermac and made him a character. same with the new character skarklet. she was also a glitch between mileena and kitana. , but don't know how they got the name

Erman stands for ERROR MACRO. It even says so in Mortal Kombat Deception. The language in the neteher realm is backwards. I heard it on the video TABMOK LATROM or LATROM TAMBOK

Ermac wasn't black. His skin was more of an olive colour or tan, so he's probably Middle Eastern, but it really doesn't make a difference because he's even a real person.

That makes more sense. I really didn't mean to say that he was black, just dark shinned. He was the only confirmed dark skinned ninja at the time, so I felt it was pretty weird that Midway lightened his tone for his new appearance.

I may be wrong,but in Mortal Kombat 1 there was an error named "ERror MACro",thus beginning the rumors of a secret character named ERMAC.But I guess the game designers took advantage of that rumor and made an Ermac.But I don't know for sure.

sometimes players would encounter a red scorpion foe instead of his normal colors.

these players then saw ermac in the credits and assumed that was the characters name.

there was also a hidden message in mk2 that read " Ermac does not exist" except it was spelled backwards
