This isn't a stupid penalty! You have to take a gamble and stop him from scoring on the break away and hope he doesn't score on the penalty shot, because if Hartnell didn't stop him from scoring on the break away he might have scored and his gamble paid off because he missed on the penalty shot.

But in this situation, he just hucks his glove at Malone, which doesn't effect him at all. So he effectively got two breakaway chances, the breakaway and the penalty shot. He is just lucky Biron played it out well.

@pimptydimp i mean the rangers are on the verge, the only thing they hav is being an original 6 team and having an alright market thanks to being in new york, the flyers are a better franchise than them and overall a very good franchise, i know u hate the flyers, a lot of people do but u cant deny how they are a good franchise, between market, attendancem success and other things ...

@Flyers20Fan ya as of late the rangers are, but they r worth quite a bit when it comes to the bank account...second to only montreal i believe, and the reason i dislike the flyers is because they r good, and they give my wings a run for their money every game they play em in, there r a lot of good clubs i dont like, thats sports, and rivalry's make it what it is

@pimptydimp yeah a lot of because they are new york and they are original six, but that aside there is nothing special, the flyers are an expansion team that put a mark on the nhl the second they hit the nhl winning their division their 1st yr and having 1 of the toughest and most memorable teams, broadstreet bullies, after that the flyers continued there great annual success as an automatic bid in the playoffs, i love the flyers, they deserve more respect, winning the cup isnt everything

@bl1nk1over uhh they were dirty but they were also tough, and take into consideration the time period, they were still really dirty but a lot was let go and there were other dirty teams, they r just the most renoun cus they took it to the next level and actually used it to win a couple cups and r now one of the most remembered teams ever, u hav to admit they were pretty tough too

This isn't a stupid penalty! You have to take a gamble and stop him from scoring on the break away and hope he doesn't score on the penalty shot, because if Hartnell didn't stop him from scoring on the break away he might have scored and his gamble paid off because he missed on the penalty shot.

@wtp3racin If he tripped him up or something on the breakaway that wouldn't have been stupid, because he takes the penalty shot, and that's it.
But in this situation, he just hucks his glove at Malone, which doesn't effect him at all. So he effectively got two breakaway chances, the breakaway and the penalty shot. He is just lucky Biron played it out well.
