Great cover. I love this song, as its one of the easier ones on the album, so its nice to just give it a quick whirl when bored. I too use a pick on this song and some others from the album. That's just how the bass lines were written and played, no point being a snob about it.

Basically you start with the two open E notes, then you slide down from the 7th fret of the A string and then hit the 5th, 7th, and 1st frets of the E string...Then for the next bit you hit the two open E's again, slide down from the 7th of the A string, this time hit the 3rd fret of the E string and then the 5th fret of the A string, then the first fret of the E string again...repeat...It's a cool bass intro independent of the guitar

Are you using an effect? I love the tone especially on the intro from :30-:50 ..If you're using the cherry lane tabs thats awesome I have them coming in the mail :D

nah im not using effects, the only reason i get that sound is cause im not even using an amp, just distorts up when i don't even want it to. Just connected straight to the computer. And yeah I used the cherry lane official books for most metallica songs except the solos of my friend of misery which i worked out.
