  • is that kmph or mph???

  • @snakeddj F1 always uses kmph

  • @snakeddj KP/H

  • It's obvious the cam (even if little) can't be on eye level, otherwise how could someone drive? XD

This cam is situated just above the visor and i think it's the only and best way to simulate the same visual of a driver. ;)

  • show!!! boa sorte Lucas, estamos na torcida!!

  • This one could give developers a more realistic driver POV sometime on another racing game.

  • nfsw me trouxe aqui

  • cant wait to see this in live feed, during a real race!!!

  • Shit just got real!

  • @BonakiD24 it is...

  • Comment removed

  • What does he drive TO the racetrack?

  • That's WAY high to be an eye level view.

  • ,mclaren, red bull, ferari you Must take your driver from Saudi Arabia

    like Plz

  • So let me get this right, this is toyota's unraced 2010 F1 contender, which Pirelli used for tire testing and then they send the car out for a tire test with the stickers still stuck on them? Clearly they weren't worried about logging cold tire performance.

  • 0:19 balls adjustment always required in single seater cars :P

  • @Gummby69 dude u rly pay attention on his balls? u got serious problems

  • @blaze909 dude you have no humor? u got serious problems

  • @blaze909 you think I got problems, imagine the poor mechanic who has to rummage around with his hands and do the belts up for him... that's a serious problem!

  • It looks like a massive jolt when up shifting.

  • One more lap, please!!

  • This kind of view should be in f1 games

  • This vid went viral on Tehran

  • Ok! Geee!!! Lol!

  • It's more like top-of-the-head level.

  • @thylegion Maybe forehead. :P

  • Very cool camera view!

  • GoPro?

  • superhuman

  • @gnarkillkicksass Even if I did push it, I doubt my driving would look as good as this. Haha!

  • Where is HD?

  • Awesome the way his head jerks on every shift.

  • It may just be me, but the sound of the engine and the way he was driving seemed like he wasn't really "pushing it". Anyways, it was a great camera angle.

  • @nxcess79 Would you on cold tyres in winter?

  • @nxcess79 he is on an instaliation lap so no he isnt pushing it

  • @nxcess79 obviously he wasn't pushing it... 'installation lap'

  • looking at the mirrors, it should be called "near eye level"?

  • Your vid went viral on Paramaribo

  • Why Tv doesn't try to put cameras just like this???it's so nice... i feel like I am in the car...

  • @Embraer091 quote in vid description:" I had to drive with only one eye open as the camera was blocking my other eye, quite tricky" but yeah it would be awesome if they could shrink these down an integrate into that unibrow gap area

  • @Embraer091 Look at the face of Lucas at the end, he probably thought the opposite. Having a camera behind your eye, loosing the three dimensional perception it's not a good idea at all. Helmet cam?. Yes, but not so invasive.

  • LOVE SONG

  • what is a bird flew into his face...

  • the shifts omdsss

  • Amazing speed!

  • I've seen some other helmet cams, but I'm surprised that the view is so high.

Most games (including the more realistic sims) seem to get the the view completely wrong then, but then again real life is not 2D LCD screen...

  • good shot. Not a whole lot of view...

  • @Kriz - it IS a Formula 1 car, and not a Lotus T125. It is the car Toyota built for the season in which they decided not to "stay in F1" - it was sold to Pirelli and used for tire development. Cheers.

  • @sccaziptie Thanks for the info. I thought pirelli we testing there on weaker open wheelers.

  • my like are the 5000! :D

  • woooooooow

  • You could put a little mirror between your eyes and then the camera facing the floor, but recording the mirror like SLR cameras.

  • well you can see enough there :L

  • whats the button ur pushing when u change gears????

  • GT5 has some real good graphics....... This almost looks real!

  • Pirelli test car...not quite f1 but basically the lotus t125. Great drive looks like good fun

  • @xKriZ765x That is one of the last Toyota Formula One cars. They were bought and used by Pirelli to test their new F1 tires for 2011.

  • it can't be eye level if all you see in the wing mirrors is rear wheel.

  • @pastymule They really don't see much at all through those mirrors. They really are there for the driver to get an idea as to where someone is compared to themselves, but they aren't like normal car mirrors that are designed for visibility. Most aerodynamic designers would do away with them all together if they could.

  • @inzpireinc you're right but that isn't my point. The camera must be higher than eye level if what you see in the mirrors is lower than his eye level.

  • @pastymule must be sumwhere on helmet

  • @ayrtonsennanism yeah, must be on top of the helmet

  • @pastymule thats what the driver sees. martin brundle and lewis hamilton have mentioned it a few times. the mirrors are really poor

  • @m15aq......that is not what the driver sees. I'm talking about angles of reflection, the cam must be above his eye level if what the cam sees in the mirrors is below his eye level i.e the tyres.

  • @pastymule He's the only car on track, doesn't really need to see a whole lot of nothing coming up behind him.

  • @pastymule this was a tire test with no other car on the track. Of course Lucas would need to see the rear tires since he was testing them, the mirros were adjust to that.

  • @pastymule is eye level but on the helmet,if it was on eye level of the driver he wouldnt see a thing no?

  • @kartdriver92 Eye level means the level of the drivers eye. Nothing else.

  • @pastymule exactly.. driver's view is even lower, and therefore way less visibility.

  • @pastymule Yes it is....the wing mirror is for the driver to observe the rear tyre wear

  • @rosun82 it doesn't matter what it is used for, you have missed my point. Just making the observation.

  • @rosun82 No its not... its used for the driver to see other cars passing/ tailing. The team in The pits would be monitoring the tyre wear, and the driver would be able to feel how much grip they would have lost due to tyre wear.. at the speed they drive at, they would never be able to get a good look at the tyres anyway.

  • Goes to show how real F1 games are getting! F1 2011 is spot on! Just needs a little better physics

  • @BeaverBeanerReviews well said! 2011 even has the wind noise... the physics are not quite right but wow... this is the best f1 video I have seen.

  • Why not attach the camera between the eyes? That would still be eye-level.

  • i have seen this stuff before

  • Also it seemed higher than I imagined it being.

  • anyone know the purpose of having the car infront of him when he entered the pits?

  • filé Lucas valeu.

  • hes defiantly got the best job in the world!

  • Sloppy.. right for the pits. He consistently misses the apex; great movie, terrible driving.

  • @Bognit i bet u cant even be better in your shitty computer game :)

  • @Bognit That's not the point... he's driving an installation lap, with one eye open...

  • @Bognit read the fricken descripton u r tard

  • Thats awesome!

  • man i wish that was lewis in qualy lap, that would be something

  • What a great feeling of speed you should try running with those machines!

  • Excellent vid, the way the revs rise and fall sends a shiver down my spine but then again I did once shed a tear of emotion when I first heard an F1 car up close, an incredible sound. My wife called me a big gay

  • They have got to start using this for the F1 coverage. I didn't think that it would be much different to the usual on board but some how it is way more of a sensation I think because of the sound and the wind buffetting against the helmet.

  • @6666hoopick this was eye-level .

luca di grassi's Quote:" I had to drive with only one eye open as the camera was blocking my other eye, quite tricky".how could they use it for the f1 coverage?

  • @geiuy Good point! Camera technology is so advanced, there are high def cameras the size of a walnut. It could be built into the helmet just above eye level. Otherwise they should all drive with one eye, it might spice things up a bit!

  • my neck hurts from watching this

  • I hope one day they'll use helmet cams in racing too :)

  • Insane to think this is a V8, that redlines at 19,000 RPM and idles at 6000. $7,000,000 invested in this F1 to simply be the best. Phenomenal..

  • he was only warming the car up cant go flat out. plus point they are v8s these days not v10s

  • You're a pussy magzire

  • Espetacular !

  • 500th

  • ---☺---

  • Seems like he's driving a gear lower than normal pace, turn 4 should be gear 4 with a shift up at the exit and then 2 down for 5, up 3 and then down 2 to 4 for 7

  • what a pussy. cmon floor that bitch

  • Thats awsome that shows you that its not easy to drive an f1 car Lucas thats genius

  • Comment removed

  • He never got up to 300 kmh! Why didn't he go down the straight?

  • @buccavich Installation Lap

  • GoPro = Strong little things!

  • 23 people don't know how to drive!

  • sick@!!!! wow!

  • @GamingNewsBench What is silly?

  • it's cool, but it's not exactly what the driver sees because the camera is wide angle, therefore gives the impression it's faster and narrower.

    Very cool nonetheless

  • WOW! REALLY FANTASTIC!

  • gran turismo 6:D

  • Also search Alonso Barcelona Helmet Camera

  • :D

  • Que lindo!!! <3 :')

  • 23 people work for bridgestone

  • Why not record a flying lap? This one is a bit weak... cool camera though.

  • @ROONTANG he was driving with one eye open cuz the camera blocked the other. A flying lap like that would be pretty risky if you ask me.

  • wow epic looks epic!

  • that was scary as at that height it so hard to see the track even, flipping insane, great pov view though like wow

  • This is better than any videogame i've ever played.

  • it was used by Indycar´s Paul Tracy like 3 or 4 years ago

  • it was used by Indycar´s Paul Tracy like 3 or 4 years ago

  • Freaking Awesome

  • YEaahhh Boyy!!! Awsomee!!

  • /watch?v=MxSRnj8ZZQw The Bestt!!!

  • Great!!

  • That was in Catalonya in Spain...

  • kool as they should put a camera on every helmet

  • No To Sky TV

  • faltou a recta da meta é pena!

  • PERFEEECT !

  • Lucas; you are awsome

  • It's grand tourist 6

  • On TV they say that you do the same thing in India, will you upload it too on youtube?

  • EXCELENTE..! ! !

  • like a game

  • cant wait for the 1080p!

  • - I got that view in rFactor... nice!!!

  • HRT looking fast! WHAT A JOKE!

  • @simobgbgbg In fact this is a Toyota chasis, bought by Pirelli to test F1 tyres....

  • @Blindkiller64 gg! I didn't knew that! Thanks!

  • @simobgbgbg njn

  • Not the first itime. DC did it once but predictably he went out at the first corner.

  • Speed into the pits is impressive. Yikes.

  • looks amusing

  • now I know how easy it is for them to accidentally steer off course....

you can't see shit from that angle!!

  • Dammit. Now I need to go purchase Forza 4...

  • Pretty sure this is from f1 2011 the game

  • @natrul99 pretty sure u are an idiot!

  • too sweet for words

  • Boah, das vermittelt viel besser den Eindruck und das Gefühl beim fahren, als bei den Onboard Kameras. Das muss sich unbeschreiblich anfühlen.

  • man i really wanna try to drive this shit!!

  • notice the "good luck" scratching at 00.20, lol!

  • @ephoebe23 where?

  • @GamingTimz what do you mean by "where"? What do you think a guy would scratch for good luck?

  • @ephoebe23 helmet? or gloves idk cause i dont do that

  • Amazeballs.

  • I think that the driver can see better than what can be seen in this video

  • WOW! That nose is freakin long!

  • Too bad he wasn't pushing it. i wanted to see qualifying pace. But still cool vid.

  • No wonder front wings flies of while bumping into their opponents' rear tyres. You can't see the road 30ft in front of you. In the heat of the action, that should happen almost every time.

  • Why doesn't GT5 has automatic head movement to the apex as an option? it's really hard to look around in mirrors while cornering with those stupid thumb sticks..

  • is this on the xbox or ps3? JK

  • @Genapex It's called Real Life. You should get one...

  • who else was looking to see how long those stickers on the tires would last for?

  • *Insert Formula One nerds know what its like to be helmets already joke here*

  • so those little lights on the wheel shows when you have to change gear? cool i want those on my car

  • FORZA 5 PRE RELEASE!

  • Fantástico ............muito legal!!

  • driving with one eye open? Thumbs up just for that!

  • o bagulho é doido !!!
