i never played richter very far, i didnt like it. but do those spikes actually hurt him and you are using that special to kinda get past that all because it gives you a second where you dont take damage or something?

This trick is very hard to do on PSP SotN you know... much due to the fact that the game freezes and has to be restarted if you try to do this.

Yhea is hard cuz when you do an item crash after you get hit by the spikes ( most of the time ) the game freezes !!

Good thing thoug is that this only happen in psp and japan version of the game

That's a shitload of money for a PSX game more than 10 years ago, but if want to play it that bad after all these years then you gotta pony up I guess. You could just play the ISO on a PSX emulator.

The HUD in Richter mode is taken from Rondo of Blood (which didn't come to the US until the PSP Dracula X), since the opening of SoTN's is Rondo's ending (they're both halves that make up a singular Dracula X).

Rest = How many lives you have. So in Symphony of the Night (since you have save games and such), you're always playing with 0 lives.

@FiercePulse: Richter's lifebar and status bar were lifted from this game's prequel, Akumajou Dracula X: Chi No Rondo (lit., Demon Castle Dracula X: Rondo of Blood). In that game, Richter could have more than one life. In this game, he only has one, hence the "Rest 00" in the status bar. In many old-school, action/adventure video games that are Japanese in origin, zero is considered the last life.

I made five castlevania SOTN videos already and this one was the easiest do to.

I play on emulator but I don't use anything other than my keyboard. Used 59.9 frames per second and savestates only at the start point.

Have you tried doing the trick with the "agunea" subweapon? With 80 hearts it's possible go and back in the normal castle, two crashes in both paths, and just one in the inverted castle.

after seeing this video i desided to give it a go, did it after some attempts, used more hearts thou, heres a tips, sometimes he doesnt go invulnerable, only thing you can do the is to use the itemcrash right after, watch closely, he will get that purple glow when hes invulnerable, you dont have to do it as perfect as this guy, but i would recomend getting 99 hearts for both ways- hope this helps

What is that spell that makes him invincible??? Is it an enhanced version of the "lightning", "holy water", or whatever!!!! I didn't even know that trick... or is it simply a "special move" executed like those alucard "unlocks" by doing some "street fighter" moves (i.e half-circle + square, or the likes)... >_<

Yeah, the item crash make you invincible everywhere. You can also make it in the spike corridor at Royal chapel but the metal gate is just at the begining.
