How to Apply Flawless Foundation Using a Foundation Brush!

what about cleaning the brush? should it be cleaned often or at all? I've been wondering that because it seems like the brush hasn't been working as will since the first time i used it when it was new?

@abosborne10 I recommend a deep cleaning once a week or two depending on how often you use it. For deep cleaning find a gentle baby shampoo and wash the bristles in luke warm water with the brush end pointing down so you don't get water into the handle and break down the glue. let air dry. Other than that every time I use it I'll moisten a paper towl and brush it back and forth until i don't see any more color from my foundation. They have spray brush cleaners that work well for daily cleaning!

just to add to this video, if you start to get streaks with this brush PAT PAT PAT it out and it will go away :) also, if you are trying to cover a blemish, you should try a concealer with a small brush, instead of applying more foundation with the same large brush, because u can see the are around the blemish that has more buildup where it isn't needed, u don't get as much coverage, and it doesn't look as good :P just a tip... i'm a makeup artist... also an acne sufferer for 5+ years...

@hermione1135 Thanks for you tips! However the patting takes waaay to long for me! LOL I actually learned how to use this brush from my Merle Norman representative. She's been doing makeup for 40 + years. I do agree with the coverup however if I can cover it with a lil foundation and blend out the edges why not?! LOL

2/2 : you can also apply them the same way as your Foundation,another thing you might benefit from is most tinted moisturizers come with spf 15+ in them i think if you need to have that liquid coverage..this is great! you should try switching, if you havent yet. and thank you! your video helped me bc i never bothered to try brush application, but now i think i just might. i can recomend some, if you want. If you try this, already have or want to .. msg. i can recomend some products to you.

@itsalyssarenee Hahahahah I KNOW I do! It's because I am using the cheap 4 dollar foundation from Walmart hahah You are the first one to catch that, so good eye! LOL I usually don't use that much because I have a slightly thicker formula on my good quality foundation but I didn't want to use it when I was just doing it for the video. :oP I use tinted moisturizer in the summer time! Its fabulous! LOL

1/2 : woah! you sure use ALOT of foundation, heres my tip for you.. useing that much Foundation isnt good for your skin, why? bc it clogs your prores! wich of course causes blemishes.. and when you apply that much everyday.. your increasing your chanses for blemishes! by all means im not trying to be mean, im trying to be helpfull. so a good i dea is to switch to a tinted moisturizer. they are alot lighter, and dont clog your porse as bad as Foundation dose, yet they are equal in coverage.

@itsalyssarenee um.. not really. foundation isn't the only cause of blemishs, but as long as you cleanse and wash your face properly, your pores won't be clogged with makeup. you can also get foundations with SPF, not just tinted moisturisers - again, no rudeness intended :)

I have the white e.l.f brush, but im not experience with any make up at all. I cant seem to get it right, and i cant tell if its the brush or if its something i did. Oh and how often do you clean your brushes i dont really have cleaning method yet? Thanks

Awesome video. I just bought a foundation brush from Estee Lauder and have yet to use it. I thought your skin looked awesome when you were done...good technique. You're right about going in different directions, too. First time I used it at the store there were streaks b/c I didn't use it properly.

You should try using a really good foundation (Lancome is amazing) b/c I think you'd REALLY see a difference then. Anywho, great vid!

Yeah I have Merle Norman foundation that I use for special occasions and stuff and there is a HUGE difference between that and my 4 dollar stuff haha but I've never tried Lancome.
