I got the hat, but never wore it. You see, I'd have worn it much more often if I wasn't playing PropHunt at the time. Those damn halos can be seen on the prop models, and would always give you away. So I never wore it. Looking back now, I'm glad I did. Some 2 weeks after the halos were given out, people who got their items taken away started griefing everyone who dared to wear the thing, and if some admins were mad at your halo, then you'd be banned from the server for life.

I dodged a bullet.

I believe they're coming back into style now, though. With all the new items, the Mann-Conomy update and all the new players since the Idler event, I think that it's merely become an old scar that has now been covered in cool new hats. But I still won't wear it. I have new hats to wear. And I've replaced the ghastly gibbus with a few new models so the scouts wearing the GG are wearing the Borderlands Psycho mask and the soldiers wearing the GG look like Duke Nukem.

I'm not mad at Valve. Most of the stuff I got by idling was stuff I already had, and was therefore useless. The only hat I got was the Demoman's Fro, and awesome as it was, I don't even play Demo.

As for the Halo... well, I personally think it looks stupid. If you didn't idle, good for you. If you did and therefore didn't get a halo... Better luck next time.
