@ThyDungeonman2 Originally, I was going for something that was in the public domain, for copyright purposes. Of course, I don't own whatever orchestra performed the music anyway, so that did me no good.
@ajamescole Ah, I gotcha. Though if you have the technology to model these characters, you might have had access to something like garageband or another third-party freeware that lets you make your own stuff fairly easily. Now, I'm not saying I'm a musical genius by ANY means, but even something like a rhythmic, deep-bass drum might have been nicely intimidating... add a slightly tweeked "more that meets the eye" riff behind it and that'd send SHIVERS up fan spine.
@ThyDungeonman2 So I take it you prefer current day garbage than something that has been around & is still appreciated?
Sorry to tell you pal, but hiphop, rock, metal & every new age crap music will die but classical music such as this will live on forever because they are well refined & elegant.
@bking123100 Unfortunately, I have no way of capturing the modeling process, other than filming it with a camera pointed at the computer screen, and the quality there would not be good at all. I am planning on modeling another G1 Transformer soon, though, so maybe I'll try a tutorial of sorts.
@bking123100 Transformers were modeled and animated in the 3D animation program called Lightwave. Then, the raw video is edited and music and sound effects are added using video editing software. Finally, the whole thing is exported as a Quicktime movie.
@anfieldking16 Unfortunately, no. The version I have cost upwards of $1000.00 about seven or eight years ago. You can find later versions on Ebay, and I've seen them go for as little as $230.00.
Just remember that if you get your hands on a version of Lightwave (or any other high-end 3D animation software) you won't be able to create awesome looking things right away. Learning the software is a commitment and takes tons of practice and patience. Online tutorials help.
@JackdawtheClown If and when I get the time, I'll defintiely continue this one! I need to get into my old hard drive and copy the animation models before I do anything else, though.
I'D LOVE THAT! i don't usually post this up here, but i am visually impaired and its sometimes hard for me to see details, so if you are able to dig them up and post close ups i'd be extreamily grateful :D
This puts Bay's "Devastator" to shame!!!
