  • museveni is a good president for uganda but a bad man for the democratic republic of the congo.

  • Museveni knows his shit..I want another RAP

  • The ugandan encomomy sucks, everything in the country sucks, over 25 years in power and still everything stinks. If i was the president, i would step down and call upon ugandans over seas to come and run the country. We have Doctors, PHDs, scientist from all around the world in practise today and philanthropist who can change the overall country if it wasn't the fear of prosecution.

  • @picawho well now they discovered oil, uganda will b run by the USA that ll be a heck overall change

  • We need a new leader. Fresh ideas who is going to move us to the new era. We can't not continue to have these old ideologies. I am 25 years old and I have only known one ugandan leader how is it possible that I have lived for two decades and have seen one president!!!

Whilst I think M7 has done a good job and he was the right leader in the 80's but listening to this interview the president's mindset cannot take us forward.

  • "u didnt show wen pipo were attacking the cars" which president says that?

  • Power corrupts and it corrupts absolutely, he my man does not get corrupted to the extent of his fallen counter parts. I would love to see him retire in peace, and not like Gaddafi!

  • We want a fresh leader. Besigye used to be M7's doctor, he has shared every riches M7 has provided to him. We have many young men in line who we would like to take this position. To my understanding, freedom is not free. We have other men we are still investigating and look fit for this position. Besigye should respect the people's vote and the laws of Uganda.

  • This guy has got every right answer for every question

  • @kalasanyi who voted those MPs to parliament? Next time vote people of integrity people that do not compromise their principals!

  • No term limits in Germany? No term limits in France? What is M7 talking about??? BullS!

just check out the Wikipedia website on political term limits!

  • You man "motosana" You are not serious,do you the circumstances under which term limits were removed?MPs were corrupted witha 5 M shilling and a sack given to those that opossed:What development are going on in uganda, except wet land being sold to create markets, botanical gardens turned into beaches and hotels, yet we have other places garzetted for these activities.mMinister of trade rebranding expired sugar and selling it on uganda market.hey you myiopic characters why cant you see?

  • Ignorant journalists like Kaikai are not interested in exploring viable alternatives to Museveni given the uniquely violent history of Uganda, they too busy being Cooper. The many young commentators here have no clue how savage and cruel the likes of Idi Amin and Obote were. Given Besigye's bull headed behavior, it is not too far-fetched to imagine that Uganda can so easily go back to the bad old days of violent inter-tribal antagonism in a flash. Kaikai should have discussed in that context.

  • Kaikai and his poor grasp of historical facts had him taken to the cleaners. Eti comparing Museveni with Idi Amin? That is just silly and interviewing someone like Museveni while having a predetermined mindset that Museveni is the aggressor was naive and stupid. You do not try to patronize an intelligent man like Museveni, especially if you knew he is a trained and experienced propagandist. Indeed the NRM success was based on a very effective propagandist ideology. Kaikai is an arrogant joke.

  • @Scanfish1 worthless people like you love the president because of uganda's money he has owned.

  • @001compaq Can you please write in English, ok?

  • @Scanfish1 can you even read english??

  • So what is this obsession with term limits? If the people of Uganda want the term limits, they will vote to amend. M7 has a point, he has the right to stand as many times as he wishes and the people have voted for him overwhelmingly. This term limits nonsense is what has made your countries poorer because every 5-10 years you allow newer thieves in office to practice 'our time to eat' philosophy. Byesigye wants a rally - apply for a permit! That is the rule of law and is part of democracy.

  • @motosana1 M7 is inventing stories, Motosana. Just check out the political term limits, and u will know.

There are limits in both France and Germany, there is a 7 year limit in Israel.

If you people are too lazy to check out THE FACTS you have no sensible arguments, sorry to say!

  • @helunia With all due respect if you start an argument make sure you understand the terms. I did not in any way say that there are no terms limits and no I am not too lazy to look them up. My point is - simply because term limits work elsewhere does not mean they should be imposed in Africa or Uganda for that matter. Work with what is best for you. Be sorry for yourself and your lame arguments

  • @motosana1 Motusana, all respect to you, I didn't mean to offend you to. I also don't mean that you have to impose democracy in particular everywhere.

I say - if you have a better system, go ahead, I have no problem with that!

Mind you though, that if you compare Uganda with neighbouring countries like Kenya, Tanzania or Rwanda you will see how it is lagging behind.

Tanzania (huge territory) has indeed thought about roads and infrastructure. In Rwanda the business is growing extremely fast.

  • @motosana1 Ugandan Bureau of Statistics has proved that Kenyans work 6 times faster than Ugandans.

What's wrong in Uganda after this 25-year-rule? What's wrong with its education?

In the discussion below people rightly pointed out Kaikai's comparison was not right, but so few noticed that Museveni just lied to them about the presidential terms!

Where on earth a president can so easily manipulate facts? Why don't Ugandans check them up before they discuss with a very cunning man?

  • @helunia Kenya has a very unique & beautiful history colonised by British aristocrats mainly but also Boers, Italians etc. The training provided to all from carpenter to Chief is evident to date and Kenya enjoys a more diverse and liberalised media scene than many other African countries, with a large middle class - the largest in Sub-Sahara. Combine that with a diversity of Afro-Caucasian-Arab-Asian mix and you get the dymanic mix that is Kenya. Uganda doesnt lack leadership it lacks diversity

  • @motosana1 In conclusion, sorry to say, I love Uganda, but the degree to which Ugandans agree to being manipulated by M7 propaganda demonstrate that they wouldn't be able to handle democracy yet!

At the moment, paradoxically, there is no better alternative for this nation than Museveni. And this is sad.

  • The East African Federation like the EU needs to come up with clear guidelines and stipulations for joining the Federation. Such stipulations could be on democracy, on human rights, immigrations and others envisaged in our common constitutions. Such mechanisms will ensure that acceptance into the Federation is not simply a matter of geography, that if you are a member you will have to continue to adhere to the stipulations, the constitutions of The EAF.

  • Let us not blame Idi Amin too much. He was only leading his country the best way he knew how at the time.We need to put his background into consideration.

  • Linus, this is so sad on your part. Compared to the job Jeff Koinange did when interviewing him, yours is laughable. And it goes without saying that M7 is a tough leader, use him well Uganda, to your advantage because other African nations would be dying for such qualities in a leader.

  • Very poor journalism by linus. M7 came out strong because you didn't do your homework. But you did show some balls though.

  • Linus u made ma day! Very brave, stayed focussed, smoked out Kaguta, making him look very foolish and out of touch. Bure kabisa.

  • "The most democratic country in the world"??? Please! Unfortunately though, Linus did not seem informed enough to really take M7 to task on some of his arguments. Despite his arrogance, M7 came off better than he should have on answering to the political and economic state that Uganda now finds itself in under his 25+ year rule.

  • THAT IS WHY AFRICA IS ALWAYS THE JOKE!

  • If I was M7, I would surely have refused this exercise in front of Linus ... Here is a proof of his courage! Standing tall even when your system is going messier and messier! Mzee, this is a hell of interview! Bravo Linus!

  • Linus ignores the fact that when Besigye is arrested,he's later arraigned b4 the courts and even offered pro bono services by his pals. Was this the case during the dreaded Amin's regime. During Amin's era, when the state research bureau was arresting its suspects, could the "kanyamas"(self styled body guards) of the suspect dare guard against the execution of the arrest?,or could the hoi polloi dare stone the then security operatives?.

  • I agree with M7 the unseriousness of Linus.Linus is just comparing things out of context. Was there any political opposition to talk of during the Amin era?,has Linus considered the circumstances that prompted the police to act the way it acted?,did the security forces during Amin's regime first negotiate or they just kidnapped and later disposed off their prey in the Nile/namanve?

  • Linus man you made Pres. Museveni look good and more informed than you. Then you could also have commended him for what he has done for his country. At least there are no Ugandans who die of hunger.Next time deals with all Economic sectors.Do not try to pin him down politically you will clearly lose.Do your homework and talk about issues.Like why not remove the trade barriers that is stopping most Kenyans from entering the Ugandan markets.I am sure you will improve with time though.

  • I'm sick and tired of this arrogant Africa leaders. He is talking as if we r still living in the stone age, Calling a journalist names, being dominant....etc... tels it all.Nobody voted for u u stole the votes. He is talking like gaddafi.U African dictators ur days r counted.Which f##cking foundation is he talking abt??? go 2 hell!!

  • Thanks Linus. I see a tired old man struggling to keep his cool. He is seething with anger that who dares ask him questions! No one questions him and lives! Kanyamusaayi has indeed drunk so much blood of the people in this region. The only thing Museveni has specialised in is Deception, Lies and Murder and Greed, and Theft. Kill, kill kill all those who disagree with him. it is good you were in Kenya.

  • What a pity. It's a shame our fellow brothers in UG have this man as presoo. He lost his vision a log while ago and now behaves like the few post independent un-emocratic African leaders like Gadaffy, etc His style of leadership; one way communication, authoritarian, makes all decisions, considers himself the expert, does not encourage the empowerment of his people, his slow pace of change is typically from top to bottom etc. This man doesn't believe any person can rule UG any time.......

  • mr m7Gotta stay true to who you are and where you came from

Cause at the top will be the same place you hang from

No matter how big you can ever be

For whatever fee or publicity, never lose your integrity

  • It is such a pity that we africans still have the like of Museveni leading us, honestly there is nothing of substance in his responses, most of the time he doesn't even answer the question but instead patronises Linus. And on Besigye, he did nothing wrong, he was just execersing his right to freedom, opinion etc. This M7 guy is just a dictator who doesn't want to let go of power and unfortunately he is stepping on Human Rights- I hope Hague is watching and as for us Africans....God help us.

  • museveni is right besigye behaved as if he was above the law the police did what was right besigye should know that being the leader of opposition does not mean he is special he is just like any other ugandan citizen no wonder he lost the election so badly because the vast majority of ugandans dont want him

  • Museveni is very patronising. I think this Kaikai tried a Tim-Russert on M7 but didn't have the cojónes to take him. Nice try though.

  • Age is wisdow but mr president your defy'ng that.....Where is the wisdom you had 25 years ago

  • Good job Linus!!! Still there is some change in a president willing to be interviewed by one who is not under his employ. M7 was a challenging interviewee!!

  • @miderva I think he (Linus did a bad job with the questions) you can tell they were not intensely researched. Esp when he touched on the army being very political yet his arguments are, "they are there in polling stations, they are visible...." This interview came across as a smear campaign where he(Linus or whomever wrote the ques is on one side vs Museveni. They did not touch on what M7(as i gather he is called) wants to do with his country in the next few years, the economy, etc. plain bias.

  • @kusmake Wow!!! "They have eyes but do not see, they have ears but do not see!" What don't you see or hear? Your judgement is coming soon!

  • @Mbogo33 How did me being judged come into the topic? If its religion you are trying to impose, keep in mind Jesus said,"give Caesar what belongs to Caesar and God what belongs to him." Now back to worldly matters, what don't i see? the police being pelted with rocks, how walking and resisting arrest brings fuel prices down, you behind the computer voicing you thoughts on how to better the situation. There is a lot i dont see, to be judged for what isnt in the ten commandments nor the law.

  • @kusmake What has Museveni been waiting for all the 25 years to do for Uganda apart from theft, land grabbing, murdering, sowing hatred, deceiving and lies? Did you think that we don't watch this space? Yes, your jugdement is coming soon! You seem not to even know the Bible that well.

  • @Mbogo33 You also asked very legit ques, Like what has he been doing for 25 year, which he answered using backed facts. Also With German terms, the Chancellor can stay for as many terms as long as he is elected by the Bundestag (whom are elected by the people) resulting in unlimited term limits with conditions. And isn't this the same thing that is in your constitution?

  • @Mbogo33 I am not here to argue or troll, i simply watched an interview that was lacking when it had all the potential to change even a country (Your Country). Instead of imposing religious beliefs on others, embrace different ideas accept different analogies and use that knowledge to better your and/or others lives. Have a great week and a productive life.

  • @ryzovr Please note my wording..i said this man M7 will milk our resources because he is not to be trusted at all.Look at the Migingo Island incidence in Kenya..look at the conflict he started with Congo, and look at the one with i think Rwanda a few years back.Obviously I long for the day when E.Africa would be one nation and even extended to the whole of Africa..but as long as we have such power hungry people as M7 then there will always be doubt as to the federation.

  • whatever hapens, Museven should be told by his corrupt family and friends in his government that Ugandan's have been patient with him for a very long time. Uganda is for all Ugandan's not for his family and friends. 30 years of brutality corruption and discrimination is enough. Ugandan's are ready to liberate there counry once again.

  • It's a shame the man can't stop exposing his ignorance, it's very obvious that his good years are beyond him now, you can see that he was not expecting KaiKai's introduction caught him off guard, becouse he is used to being interviewed by his own employs who always ask him prasing quetions, he was in shock to see the clip, you can see him looking away. he Museveni knows very well that he can't win in a free and fair elections withougt riging votes and using the Armed forces to intimidate people,

  • after 25 yrs u r still talkin of electricity banange, kids still go to bed on a hungry stomach hw long do you need 1000 yrs

  • Why do africans fail to respect Human rights? Wow, I cannot believe that Museveni who fought hard for the country, but now is losing his strenghts as you can see what is happening in his country. i hope that the justice will fuck up all the failures

  • This kind of leadership talk is what we are trying to change. This was real village talk.Listening to him i hear my grandpa talking on "HIS" farm.M& should know that this not a farm, his farm for that matter.

  • museveni a dictator for over a quarter century. time to kick him and his dynasty out.

  • I am tired of UG news!..what is Raila doing? or Musalia?

  • To understan M7 u need to be very very VERY SMART!

  • hahaha, Kaikai seemed to hav a hot bottom in that chair..

  • No real clear answer, his always going around them..

  • Democracy in Uganda.Interviewer: Mr President why did you remove term limits? M7: Electricity, education, roads.???????? My goodness this doesn't even make any sense. We need someone else to fight for us.

  • Museveni is very convincing.... hehehehehe

  • @Warren, how old are? I don't think you deserve to be on this forum.

  • WILL SOME PLIZ SHOOT THIS M7 IDIOT???I C HES SWEATING LIKE A FUCKING IDIOT.

  • museveni this is more than worse

  • That opposition leader even if he made whatever mistake u claim he is a human being and deserved better treatment than the pepper spray with the so called boys,i mean u should put yourself in that situation mr whatever and know that the dude is in much pain right now,the police could have done better by asking him politely not pulling a person like a cow to be slaughetered.Thumb up linus u were so polite interviewing the man, personally i cant talk to such a man,his level of education is just low

  • This clone of a President needs some Education Too.. France Does have Presidential Term Limits A Two Five-Year terms in office. And Israel Too has a Presidential Term Limit a One seven-year term...This goon has been in Office for 25 Freaking Years!!! Lord help Ugandans :( UK Doesn't at-least he got that Right.. But has check and Balances that makes sure the leaders Do not Oppress the Opposition Like He is Doing in Uganda....

  • M7 IS HARDCORE LOL!!

  • i think M7 shd handle riots like the kenyan state in 2007...just leave pple 2 burn each other. 3 weeks of protests and no Ugandan refugees. Kenyan refugees still in Uganda. be that as it may, M7 shd ve shown some sympathy for the condition Besigye is in.

  • The person interviewing this tomato defending president had no control at all. The president had more facts at his finger tips. How is this so when the journalist was sitting there with an IPAD on his laps and google......?

    Poor job guys. Very poor

  • @Bangimobb your man is still in the 60s. His information is even wrong Those countries have term limits. How many Prime Ministers have governed UK while he is in power? How many French and German Presidents have been in Office and for how many terms while Museveni is in power? Linus was just polite as an African man not to embarass him. He looked at him as a joke who does not know facts but poses as one knowlegdable.

  • @Mbogo33 UK prime ministers dont have term limits, Germany have the president whom also does not have term limits even their Chancellor does not have term limits. I recommend putting personal feelings aside as it may be leading you blindly, Mbogo. Listen to M7 all his arguments are valid you can even do your own personal research. I am not agreeing with M7 the way his men addressed his opposition but i do agree with him on the Ugandan constitution.

  • @kusmake You are dead wrong. You should know that some of us do not support dictators like you. FYI I took part in making the 1995 Constitution that he is manipulating every other day. Uganda does not stop at Museveni. He is not a Ugandan but a Rwandese. His 25 year rule is illegitimate including his recent swearing in. Don't get personal, be objective. Check out your European facts right.

  • @Mbogo33 Wow, do not make false claims like that, first off you do not know me nor i you, secondly, i do not support dictators as you claimed and i do not see any need to prove it to you as not all are oppressors. When i think of dictatorship N.Korea comes to mind with the political system. Your country is a democracy (poorly run). I am also thinking if it was prosperous you wouldn't be calling him a dictator. Also keep in mind mind, if you dont want him, YOUR VOTE COUNTS do something.

  • 25 years is a very long time! M7 u have run out of ideas!! Step down while u still can, don't wait to be removed by force! poleni sana waganda with this president for life!!

  • stepping on tomatoes? this is the head of state? wow this is embarrassing

  • I like this journalist, he is telling it like it is!!!

  • Museveni, please school that 'educated' fool Kaikai. I agree with Museveni in as far as Africa's curse if our 'educated' middle class that is eager to espouse whatever the west dictates as pertinent while ignoring our greater concerns such as political integration, developing and retaining Africa's human resource, bolstering energy outputs, and dictating the exploitation and trade in our natural resources.

  • @ryzovr Can you claim to create peace in the community when you create havoc and violence in your own house? Shame!!!

  • Museveni, you are just being hard headed yet this is a great opportunity for you to made sensible changes. Reality check is coming soon!!

  • jeff k could better and to the point Linus umeanguka hapo

  • These journalists are just like so called civil society groups. They just read and regurgitate western political propaganda without thinking or applying themselves to Africa's history, current situation & what it will take to develop as a continent and people. Linus Kaikai I know is an intelligent individual however his questions sound typical of what a western journalist would keep harping on...term limits, freedoms etc. Yet they don't follow them when it suits them.

  • @princecoolruler Right on the money brother!

  • Mr.Linus KaiKai, what a wasted opportunity. You are not informed enough, you have not done your homework, you have not asked any insightful questions and worstly, you began your interview by insulting the sitting president. How do you plan to have an interesting dialogue when you begin the interview by offending the interviewee? I give you an E for reporting style/questions. NTV, get someone else who is more prepared.

  • @lastkingofbushenyi Well said, he was definitely not prepared and seemed to have been more intent on making his own points instead of holding an interview. Comparing Museveni with Idi Amin? Sounds quite similar to how a western journalist would compare Mugabe to Hitler when interviewing him. It's that brand of condescending and abrasive journalism that is more about making points than interviewing that's typical in the west. Museveni handled it well though and still made his points.

  • Two terms in France....do your homework

  • 25 years of presidency........change is needed and not one of his family members

  • Yoweri Museveni = ARROGANCE PERSONIFIED!

  • What a stupid president!

  • Pathetic reporter using western propaganda tactics but failing miserably becuase he doesn't even do his homework.1.Museveni should step down to allow fresher ideas forward 2.The opposition guy has to stop seeking attention and win more votes 3.Every country has protests and they all crush them if they become violent 4.Don't confuse democracy for progress.China is not democratic but has lifted 100's of millions out of poverty.Basically have your 'free speech' and starve.Stop being naive Africans!

  • @400yearAfricanplan Yeah bro, these seemingly intelligent characters make me sick by using their intelligence to imbibe and spread western propaganda instead of applying it as Africans to African development. The questions in this interview are quite telling of the source of inspiration. These media and civil society types yap all day on term limits, freedoms etc and nothing about how Africa will improve infrastructure, industry, integration, get out of western debt trap etc.

  • @princecoolruler so you dont think term limits are necessary?

  • hmm..i think M7 has a point..

  • President Museveni makes this idiot journalist look like the ignoramus that he really is. Thanks Mr president for representing your government and Uganda well. How many president in Africa can go to foreign countries and give open interviews to hostile press? Can Kibaki do it?

  • Kaikai you should now bring Besigye in for an Interview. wacha atoe siri zote zinazotumika UG. Walitucheka nyumba yetu ikichomeka sasa tuwasaidie kuchoma yao.

COALITION GOVERMENT will work for him, its the same thing that he came to Kenya to help form so the same he should be given

  • @SuperJulia74 Exactly when did Ugandans laugh Kenya ikichomeka? Did not Ugandans host thousands of Kenyan refugees wakati was PEV? In fact, to this day, there're still hundreds of Kenyan PEV refugees in Uganda.

  • I have lost all respect for this journalist. for lacking good taste and common sense. . Comparing Museveni to Obote or Amin reveals your stupidity and ignorance. I guess you would rather Museveni sits buy while stupid people burn property and kill in a ‘walk to work’ riot. I guess that would be democracy. Yes, the way the Kenyan Government stood by while Kikuyus in the rift valley were torched in their house and churches. Idiot! Bure Kabisa. Jinga!

  • @jaxtrade what stupidity did the journalist show? he is asking Museveni questions that the public has raised, and the way Besigye has been treated sure brings back Amin and Obote days memories!!!, think twice before you talk

  • @erwin5us This reporter could have done better than to rehash questions that clearly the president has heard and responded to time and time again. How about starting by asking him his view of the situation and thereafter introducing the questions or highlighting any contradictions. All he managed to do was offend M7 which resulted in M7 sarcastically calling him the 'evangelist of civilisation'. Very little articulation, clearly had a script and was not willing to deviate from it

  • @lastkingofbushenyi I see your point of view and I agree with you because the reporter had a poor start, all he had to do was to start easily then bring in that clip later on

  • Even if the government zero rates the fuel tax, the oil cartels and selfish multinationals may still force the prices to go higher. The Government is not the problem. The mighty US government seems helpless against these oil crooks. What is a small African country to do? Not collecting taxes is not the right way forward. Don't burn Kampala down in selfish and opportunistic 'walk to work' riots. That will not solve your problems

  • This man is no joke...This federation thing we talk about,he'll find a way to control kenya and the whole of E.Africa with it.It's time Uganda had another face if the federation is to be fair to all member states.Museveni's 25+ years of experience would be no match to say,Raila's 5 year of presidential experience should he be the president..yet you wanna join forces with them. He'd find a way to milk resources out of us.

  • Comment removed

  • @hakim254 At least you are one who is saying some sense. This man has been consumed by power. The evil spirit of power has taken over. Just look at him!

  • Power corrupts; ultimate power corrupts ultimately.

  • Linus Kaikai ambushed M7 with those clips and the comparison to Amin. He should really have been a bit more tactful (Anderson Cooper does this very well) because all he did was put the DISHONORABLE TYRANT on his defense and the interview went to hell from there. honestly if I were M7 I would have punched the dude's face. That said, people like M7 prevail because their countries' citizens are fear-filled and complacent.

  • @surambaya dont tell Kaikai to be like COoper of CNN. The partial cooper does thing to justify his American opression on other Muslim country. Or you can move to America and leave Africa for people who want to be Africans not AFRICOM like Museveni

The federation he is talking about is a US initiative that is a creation of the World new Order Elite group. They want to rule the world and its already happening in Europe with the Schengen Visa and Euro.

Museveni should go to hell with his EA Fe

  • 2 wrongs don't make a right idiot!!!! even if Besigyne resisted the police.....the police shouldn't go that far to arrest an individual that is NOT armed or dangerous! Breaking his arm? blinding him with all that tear gas? destroying property(breaking car windows)? sheiiish the bigger person here is the one upholding the law and that is YOU and your 'uncivilized goons'......style up and get the F out.....only a matter of time tyrant!!!!

  • politicization of the army is to ensure his a** is covered...period!

  • M7 is cunning as a fox - this type of dictator is the most dangerous type. Kagame is another one. Sweet smiles and smart talk in the newsrooms while skulls of the opposition get cracked in the detention cells.

  • was an arrest warrant on Besigye issued? why would he accompany the f police?

  • get out!!!!!!!!!!!!! 25yrs??????

  • LINUS KIKAI OWNED BY M7NI!!
