  • 198hp rated by honda is pur crank HP not wheel power. an adverage stock si should make anywhere from 165whp. without bolt on's they dont make 200whp stock

  • I don't hear any vtec cracking in..

  • wat made u trade the ex?

  • @xxnissansilviaxx ... before I bought the EX i didnt know jack about cars. Started getting 'into' it and traded up to the Si, then to an STI and now Im onto motorcycles.

  • @cdPhalanX oh wow...wat u drive now the sti? why not evo?

  • @xxnissansilviaxx the STI is my daily driver. I chose the STI because of the hatchback versatility. I go on a decent amount of ski/snowboard trips in the winter. It helps to have the extra trunk space for etxra gear and still be able to have passengers.

  • Why would anyone spend money to dyno a stock Honda civic?

  • @guyd37 So that when you add modifications farther down the line you ahve something to compare it to and see exacty how much power you gained and where you gained it. Same goes for dynoing any car.

  • @cdPhalanX If you think a new fart canon, CAI, TB and all that crap kids add to their 4 bangers make a significant difference, you're wrong. Even on my Mustang, after all the bolt ons available, I gained 25hp. Not worth it. You need a Turbo or you're wasting your cash.

  • @guyd37 Not to mention I have since traded it in for a better starting platform in the form of an 08 STI

  • @guyd37 lol dude for these engines basic boltons are a platform to help the turbo/supercharger to get better horsepower. exhaust and intake are vital to even a cam or stroker mod... i have an all motor civic si running 270 at the wheels+ a 75 shot... so dont knock it til you've tried it.

  • @bustsomeheads You'll have to show me a Dyno sheet! 270 whp? All motor? Sure....

  • @guyd37 it says 177, which still seems wrong, its not even close to the 198 hp honda says it has

  • @guyd37 I added a full intake, header, exhaust and supercharged it (stage 2) amongst other things. Not your average fart-cannon ricer civic. Thanks.

  • @cdPhalanX Money wasted....

  • @guyd37 maybe in your opinion... i had a blast with that car.

  • @cdPhalanX Been there, done that. When it came to resell, I had nothing more than the basic list price. It was fun but lots of money wasted.

  • @guyd37 Well yeah... modifying cars doesnt increase its value unless you get lucky and sell to someone who appreciates/desires what youve done with it and wants to pay extra for what you mofidied. Thats why I returned it to 100% stock form, traded it in for kbb value and sold the aftermarket parts seperately. Obviously didnt make all of my money back, but made enough to not be dissappointed.

  • my bro 07 si stock only got 156whp

  • @smallblocksupercharg lol then theres something wrong with your brothers car... no k20 besides the k20a3 runs that low if it doesnt have any problems.

  • Comment removed

  • if I traded in my ex for a si I be payin way more lol but I like my ex very :)

  • Very very good performance for a stock car.

I've seen cases where an engine has 170 hp on the flywheel and show only 115 WHP SAE

    Salu2

  • nice si man, i personally don't like honda vehicles, but this new si civic is really nice. thats not bad power tothe wheel stock. reason for hondas not having great tourqe is due to their rev happy engines. honda built the k20 for circuit track racing where the rpm's will always be at its max, remember this aint a drag strip big block chevy making gobbs of low end grunt.

  • Why would you even post a video like this without posting the results?

  • the results are in the description.

  • What was the torque on that run, they didnt put it because Im guessing it was horrible. Those cars got no torque. HP sells cars, Torque wins races!

  • By the way, When you are on the dyno its progressive, you dont rev you car as fast as you can... Its a 2.0L with 200hp, so for me its enough to beat a lot of cars, without turbo and supercharge for sure.

  • the wtq was 139... 'not showing it because it sucked' was not even remotely the case.

also, torque only wins races if you know how to drive.

  • Thats better than i expected i saw a s2k stock only getting 141wtq

  • cavs are butt

  • true that

  • Actually, if you understtod the mathematical and scientific relationship, you would know that is just an old Chevy fairytale.

  • how much more money did u have to put down for the Si?

  • what gear did they dyno your car at

  • 4th

  • yoh! just a question is WHP different from HP becoz as far as i know the 08 civic si is 197HP how come in this dyno test it only produced 177 i'm confused

  • yea, whp is Wheel Horse Power. When car companys show the horsepower of a vehicle, its at the crank.... meaning the power then has to go through the drivetrain and wheels etc before making it to the ground. You lose quite a bit of power from the crank to the wheels.

  • Ok. Thanks Man. it make sense

  • u lose about 15% of crank horsepower through the drivetrain

  • the reason is weigth ratio differential, when u dyno a car u have a 15 % lost in power becuase of the weight.

  • Love the sound of that car and also what a great dashboard!

  • Sweet man. I'm thinking about trading in my ex for si just because I want more power. Not saying I'm not happy with my car but it would be nice to start at 197hp opposed to 140hp

  • why not trade in for something thats a better platform from the start instead of having to spend an assload of cash just to barely break into the 13's?

  • more like 14's

nd with that money u could buy an sti or evo nd go way way faster =]

  • im worried abt the Evo's maintenance though. I can handle the gas money and insurance. Got quotes and all that already. Im lookn at an 06 evo 9.

  • Bro i had an Evo VIII and now im in a civic si, besides the power I love the Civic si way more, I got a black 2 door and tint with Black an Red lip Tenzo Drift comp rims i love the stealthy look it has and the just totally a better built car besides the power, i would go with the Si man trust me its cheaper better on gass has more luxiories then an evo and its cheaper on insurance registration and brack pads like $170 bro, Drive both you will see.. plus a new clutch like 2000 job for the evo.

  • nice picking up mines on monday, gonna be white....

  • why the red honda plate?

  • you mean the front emblem? if so... i answer your question with a question...

    why not?

  • I think you should have waited until you have over 2000 miles on it so its broken in

  • break-in as described by honda is 600 miles. I appreciate the concern, though.

  • u dont even need that many miles to break it in either

  • lol ...yes it says so in the handbook ... just got my si habanero red..lol

  • I would wait atleast 600. All due respect, but; how do you think they last as long as the do?

  • damn, nice vid. should be able to pull a little more power out of stock si. my 08 puts down 186 on a dynojet. what kind of dyno was that
