Remember in 82 how far out there this band was? Boy have we all changed, maybe we had a QUIET RIOT! Maybe we were DRIVIN N CRYIN,while stuck in a HURRICANE, shottin it out with our LA GUNS, to kill the GREAT WHITE, and the WHITE SNAKE, while saving the DEF LEPPARD. It was one helluva JOURNEY, in the REO SPEEDWAGON, especially since we were a FOREIGNER, with a CHEAP TRICK and a SUPERTRAMP, running from the POLICE. Ended up in KANSAS, with our MOTLEY CRUE. This storys right out of a DREAM THEATER.

I actually think Nightwish, Vanden Plas, and Edenbridge are very good continuances of the progressive/symphonic thing and Seventh Wonder IS VERY DT. They took the DT baton and ran with it. NO COVERS EITHER, all original.

I remember when this came out I had a alpha romeo spider, convertable, and I was going to college. In the backseat area, all I had was a huge box speaker there with two huge speakers. I hooked up with this hot blond that summer and we went on road trips listening to this cranked up on my Blaupunkt, it was the funnest time I ever had. If you get a chance, go to college and crank this up in a convertable driving to the beach at 200mph, it will be the best time ever.

heh I remeber seeing them at Janus landing in St. Pete, Fl the show turned ugly. They booed at Reb and threw shoes at Don. Security went for the shoe thrower and got the crap beat out of him. Don's vocals sucked, Reb just flat sucked, the drummer couldn't keep time. Only person onstage worth watching was Jeff and he couldn't pull it off by himeself. They played 3 songs and Saigon Kick came on and totally blew them away. Definitely missed the original line up I had seen in 87.

George admits he's not technically trained and lost when it comes to theory, Reb on the other hand, one fantastic musician all around. GL is great as well, I personally like Dokken with GL more but this is way acceptable.

No one is a bigger George fan than I, but Reb did a decent job; few great guitarists will play others' solos EXACTLY the same . . . originality is what makes one great. That's why there's SO MANY great technicians out there who can play all the right notes, but will forever remain faceless . . . no originality. not only did I just see DOKKEN at ridgefield,washington 8/7/2010 but I actually met the the band,and they were terrific in person,I've met other celebritys that were snobs,but the DOKKEN band members I met were awesome,and DON DOKKEN interacted with several of us fans for nearly 20 minutes!!! the whole band was down to earth,I'm glad too have met them,and will always remember the experience as an awesome royal bonus on top of the performance that night....keep on ROKKEN with DOKKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dokken is Heavy Metal music. Heavy Metal probably has the most talented and diverse group of bands and musicians in any genre of music. Heavy metal has many sub-genres. Do a Google Image search of the term "Periodic Table Of Metal" and click onthe first image. I think it explains quite well how bands like Dokken and Slayer can both be Heavy Metal.

Bands like Anthrax, Metallica, slayer all hated the Glam Scene and took the incentive to play the same kind of metal but Heavier and Faster without the pretty boy look. It's all connected either way just between the elements of music each genre shares with another but yeah. Just makin' conversation :)
