  • What's the difference between 19 and 21? Todays 21 are still at home....empty nest syndrome NO LONGER exists....its prayed for.

  • Pre-Marital counsel will never be the same.....plan? This generation?? Right.

Lets have the kids FIRST and then get married....

  • Don't sass me son!

  • The guy's parents didn't seem so excited in his choice for a wife looool

  • I worship Cthulhu!

  • BOING everybody! BOING! BOING!

  • frequency response of the JBL. HAHAH I never caught that before!!!

  • This is the whitest film I've ever seen.

  • Frankly, neither of you has a chance for love...ever.

  • Boing, or boink? Fun either way, lol

  • Serioiusly. If people really sit down and talk about whether or not they're ready for marriage, we would have this super-duper high divorce rate.

  • BOINGS ALL AROUND!!

  • @dilemma08 Don't ever make light of "Boing" son.

  • does he cop a feel right in front of her father?!?

  • @easyeasy506 Dude's a pimp.

  • Corporal Hicks (Michael Biehn) from "Aliens" is laughing his ass off at :2:26

No matter how many times i listen to this I can't help but start chuckling.

  • "do we agree on our religious beliefs - I WORSHIP KA-THOO-LOOO!"

  • 3 people don't have BOOIIINNGGGG!!!!!!

  • I worship Cthulhu LOL

  • I like to sleep with my head in a catcher's mitt.

  • I worship Cthulhu!

  • "What's the difference between 18 and 21?"

"Three years, didn't they teach you how to add and subtract in school?"

  • Ratatatatatat "Mariiiiines! We are leeeeaviiiing!"

Sorry, I was back in Denang there for a moment...

  • I'm married 32 years and didn't agonize over it like these actors are portraying. Rhis couple shoulda just started banging then it would have been much easier to have a long engagement.

  • 2:25 what are they referencing? it sounds so familiar... anyone?

  • @yeti60 Aliens

  • @yeti60 the movie Aliens uses a very similar line

  • @fallory I thought the same thing. It may be an old film, but it has s ome valid advice. But most people "in love" don't think straight enough to consult anyone, or listen to the consul they do get.

  • Okay, I can't resist using this...

3 people never made it out of Da'Nang.

  • @Manonthe3up gay thumb comment

  • @MichRockHop81108 Meh, I tried.

  • @Manonthe3up im the thumb comment deterant, Ive been leaving comments on everyones thumb comments about how lame their comment is. I dont believe they are funny even if clever, and I like blogging and shit on youtube so Im PISSED

  • 3 people weren't ready for marriage.

  • @ChrisAgs88 gay comment about thumbs

  • boinging...

  • Goddamn you guys, why did you uprank part 2 of Fallory's comment more than part 1? It's all out-of-sync.

  • @hysangearring Don't be ashamed, she's quite attractive

  • Remember, I made this all up...

  • "College is gonna change everything..." "Uh HUH." Indeed.

  • oh boy, back to the dolls

    lmao

  • LOL MARINES WE ARE LEAVING!!!!

  • "I worship Cthulhu!"

  • I'm still an incorrigible misogamist!

  • MARINES WE ARE LEAVING

  • well frankly neither of you have a chance for love ever

  • Just trigger the 3rd impact to eliminate the psychological distance.

Aside; yeah, for a movie from the 50s, this imparts a surprising amount of wisdom.

  • They should show this film on the Maury Povich, Jerry Springer, and Steve Wilkos shows. No paternity drama. No DNA tests. No cheating. No "You're Are/You Are Not the Father", an so forth. It'll teach these people a lesson.

This is the way that it should be. But sadly it's not like that today.

  • Have to admit, Sue is cute...

  • 2:21 lol

  • @SuperNerd1973 One of the funniest friggin' scenes! XD

  • This short was actually....really good and had some valuable points hahahaha. Never thought I'd say that about ANY film MST3K did D:

  • Yeah, this actually wasn't bad. In addition to the reasoned caution against early marriage, there's also the acknowledgment that not everyone shares the same ideals/ religious views/ whatever. They also seem to be championing that women should get educations and be on the same intellectual (and potentially financial) level with their husbands.

  • @fallory I actually learned a lot from this short!

  • Yeah, even though this short may have a few dubious comments and 'facts' the message is actually pretty modern and fair for it's time. Encouraging couples to take, and even more amazing, for the 50s, is that it discourage from rushing marriage. Fallory really hit it on the head with his two great posts.

  • "I worship Cthulu!" Roflmao.

  • The 3 dislikes are obviously people who did follow this man's recommendations on marriage.

  • BOING everybody!

  • @fallory i totally agree. it's still funny to riff on though. i mean boing? seriously?

  • MARIIIIINES WE ARE LEAVING!

  • @oscarX LMAO!!!

  • Gee Bullwinkle... 1:03

  • I'm ashamed, but I find Sue hot...

  • This short may be corny, but at least these two waited, instead of eloping like the two idiots in, "Is This Love?".

  • SHE'S SUING ME!?

  • NEVER MAKE LIGHT OF BOING!

  • "I worship Cthulhu!"

  • Anyone notice how the dad said Christmas/Easter vacation rather than winter/spring break? I guess they weren't as politically correct back then?

  • There are some terrifying ideas coming from the religious right. I read a column by someone who advised people to get married SOONER rather than waiting and thinking about. The benefit was that although he went into debt, he got married when he was 22 and got to have sex early (the married kind), so being in debt and having kids early was a small price to pay for having married sex.

  • this one hits a little too close to home for me

  • "Marines we are leaving!!!"

  • 2:22 - [Mike:] (with Crow & Servo mimicing the sound of combat) "Maurice, we are leaving!" [Mike as Sue:] "Sorry back in Danang for a minute."

  • @RaphBlade7 Maurice?!? HAHAHAHA!

  • Is it just me or is most of what their trying to teach in this short just common sense?

  • @RaphBlade7 Young people sometimes need to be reminded of common sense when they're in love.

  • 1:06 - [Crow as Sue/Rocky the Squirrel:] G, Bullwinkle.

  • "Don't sass me, son."

    "I worship Cthulu."

"I like to sleep with my head in a catcher's mit."

  • @fallory Agreed, actually. I was surprised by the level of companionate equality expressed in the short, given how social norms from the time were basically "shut up, woman, it's not your job to think."

  • "I worship Cthulu!" - Burst out laughing. XD

  • "can i see the raw data?"

    "all right."

    "--you wanna play rough?"

    "talking--"

    "--boinging..."

  • LOL!

    "College is gonna change everyyyyything!"

    So true....

  • "What she's suing him?"

  • The idea that you need "similar backgrounds" is hilarious. Segregation, much? Stick to your own kind, kids!

  • @Gomess Really. If we had a tradition if similar backgrounds in my family, we'd have lost four generations of marriage. Morals and values are what's important and you don't need similar backgrounds for that. My wife and I come from totally different backgrounds and we get along just fine.

  • again at 35 it slacks off lol wtf

  • @bugati666 Well, after 35, nobody can ever be happy. Ever. The almighty chart has spoken! Do not question it.

  • I'd say they have pretty good hair unity...lol

  • "...WITH A NEW CAR!"

Brilliant short. This is one of my favorites!

  • I love the Aliens reference..."MARINES WE ARE LEAVING!" bahhahahah

  • @jerichardson7 I think, with the "Danang" comment, they meant Vietnam. Who knows.

  • "That's the breaded thing with the mayonnaise, right?"

  • Ummm, the point of marriage isn't to find somebody who becomes your psychological twin, is it...?

  • "So give to me your leather, take from me my lace"

XDDD I friggen LOVE that line.

  • @fallory Being a Dalek is much less painful than Chastity Rings.

    XD

  • at 2:22 tears in my eyes i was laughing so hard

  • I will never make light of boing again.

  • Boing everybody! Boings all around!

  • Remember, never make light of Boing.

  • this is probabaly my favroite MST3000

  • Wait a minute, did they find the rubber band?!

    LOL XD

  • @lonelystih66..I KNOW...WE MUST FIND TEH RUBBERBANNND!

  • God this one is fucking hilarious.

    MST3K makes my day.

  • I worship Chuthlu! ROFL

  • is that like transformers?

gee i guess i dont like you

    marines we are leaving!

    do we have any priors?

  • Comment removed

  • back to the dolls

  • But never make light of boing, son

  • Gee, Bullwinkle!

    ROFL! I love Trace!

  • I'd been looking for this short forever! Thanks for uploading it.

  • "I worship Chuthulu"

    LOL!

  • Boing everybody! :D

  • Wow, Clancy Brown is wise!

  • That was Clancy Brown?!

  • No; sorry about that. But, he looks just like him. Notice how he's menacing the couple slightly as he advises them. Maybe it's his dad.

  • On belay!

  • I was actually kinda surprised that the graph they drew up is pretty much the same as what they're saying these days. Huh! I guess I just assumed that people were still shunned back then if they weren't married by 20.

    "Soooo, you're available, Sue?"

LOL that killed me... so sleezy! :D

  • lol-"It's the Hitlers!"

  • lol-this is one of my all-time favs shorts from MST--thank you so much for posting it.

    lol-the counsellor:

    "So...you're available Sue!"

  • "Gee Bullwinkle..."

  • This would have you believe that sex has no place in marriage whatsoever. Classic fifties.

  • @SenseOrSensibility Sure it did, they just called it 'boing.'

  • "is that like transformers?"

  • "Mariiiiines, we are leaviiing!"

  • "Sorry, back in Da Nang there for a minute."

  • @Oodus The moral of the story: Love is war.

    LOL XD

  • Never make light of "boing."

  • "I worship Cthulu..."

  • "Well frankly, neither of you has a chance at love, ever."

  • "But how will we know when we've done it?" "Oh boy, back to the dolls ..."
