@verdimed grow up if you don't like it,then look for another video that you like, why comment like that.. as if you are better than andre.. Why not show your own video also so that we can compare it. i myself don't know that kata but still i want to learn it.
Masayuki Hisataka describes a similar idea for the execution of tsuki waza. First is the foot step (offensive or defensive which he calls Fumikomi Ashi, then the dropping of the body called Otoshi Mi and then The Twisting or rotating of the hips and body called Hineri Goshi. He also talkes about the driving foot or leg when executing tsuki waza. however with one difference that he says the driving foot or leg should be opposite the striking hand. im curious as to your thought on this difference.
greetings Bertel Shihan, I have enjoyed watching your video. We have a similar story as i also have been a personal student of a great japanese master who has taught a more scientific look at karate. your teaching is unlike any shotokan i have ever seen. I notice you have a good extension of your hips driving through the target and usuing the natural extension of the whole body. You also teach the lovering of the body prior to excecuting the technique. My sensei Masayuki Hisataka.. continued
It appears that "Vedimed" is obsessed by my videos constantly commenting how my karate is "artificial", that I have "bad stances", only "external power" etc... Very interesting, my training partners feel different...
I'd very much like to see Vedimed's karate.. Perhaps he can help me with his wisdom, deep knowledge, strong stances and internal power?
All the best and thanks for the people who have made constructive comments. Unlike some, I'll continue to train and openly share my karate!
Wow, this is shocking. Hard Bad stances, serious balancing problems by the so-called sensei. I'm sorry this is a terrible Kata, all around. Where do I start? I'm sorry, this is really bad. This is not authentic and so poorly performed. This kata is supposed to be about softness, and suppleness! External and artificial techniques. Terrible.
Fantastic Andre. I love to see the applications in practise. To clarify, did you say when you were working with the lady that there was no weight when the front leg landed meaning you are able to have the perfect punch? I have never been taught this technique. Many thanks
@karatekidruss He was stating - no weight on the landing foot at the time the punch connects. So the punch is connecting with the body before you land your body weight on the front foot. Meaning all your body weight is behind the punch when it connects and you are pushing your body weight through with your supporting leg. I hope that helps.
@bradly63 One question about this. Is not supposed that waza in karate must be controled? With that technique u go forward no matter what, so is not that dangerous in a real situation? Dont want to be rude, Andre's karate is amazing and I love it, just want to know. Ossu.
@kooeez Hi, I am probably not the right person to answer as I am just a novice. However this course was teaching advanced technique which would take alot of time and practise to master and 'control'. When you watch Andre do it, he is in complete control and yes it would be dangerous/devasting in a real situation - that was actually the point I think. He was not teaching dojo or tournament sparring which is governed by safety and rules, he was showing true application for effective karate.
@bradly63 thank you. does make sense however i have always been taught foot and punch at the same time or gyaku zuki foot then punch. I didn't realise Andre was so ill when he demonstrated this seminar. Fantastic!!!!
@karatekidruss Yes he was extremely ill - but that didn't stop him. He is truely passionate! Yes, in the dojo we do get taught foot first then punch or simutanously. And that is all good for practising, stances, hip rotation etc. This weekend was aimed at teaching technique beyond what was taught inside the day to day dojo. Osu.
