I own this movie on Blu-Ray and am so glad I god this. Sucks I couldn't see it in theaters. The fighting in this is pretty realistic! @coty13579 Umm.... I think you're slightly mistaken. Kung Fu is the Chinese martial art, Karate is from Okinawa. Karate was somewhat influenced by Kung Fu, but it mostly originates from an ancient Okinawan martial art called Tae (is that how you spell it?). They are very different. So look these things up before calling someone an idiot, OK?

@ryguyrocks I would have to respectfully disagree with you there. It is you that needs to do your research. Yes it is true that Karate originated from China, but it is NOT Kung Fu. Why? Simply because the japanese were able to refine it to be something completely different. The Chinese brought the concept of "hand" to Japan, while Japanese were able to refine it which was later called "Open hand" which translates to ":Karate". Be careful of what category you place certain martial arts in.

If any of you would do background reading, you would know that it's called that because when the kid moves, all he knows is a little karate to defend himself which, of course, fails. So he has to learn the martial art of the country, kung fu, to restore his courage and pride. It isn't a remake you dweebs, it's a tribute.

They call it Karate Kid iin America and Kung Fu Kid in Asian coutries. But with the sequel coming up, they will officially change the name to Kung Fu Kid to end the debate.

So they just rip off an idea thats already been used. Karate Kid 1,2,3, & the Next Karate Kid have already been done.
