I'm a diehard Knicks fan and I love the idea that we don't have to start Jared Jeffries anymore. (Would love it even more if he were gone for good) I like Tyson Chandler but not for 52 mill. That's way too much for him. I hate when players win rings or have decent playoff performaces then become overrated. All of a sudden,people are acting like Tyson Chandler is Dikembe Mutumbo. Much like Dwight and the Magic, a guy like Chandler can make a bad-mediocre defensive team, to a really good one. When you got a big guy inside that defends and blocks as good as anyone in the league, it allows the other guys to go out and put more pressure on their man, because they know that if he manages to get by them, they can count on the big guy to stop him. Thumbs up if you agree. I still don't think it would make them a championship team, nor a GREAT defensive team.

Can they win it all? It depends on a few things. Health is a big concern. STAT went down in the playoffs last year. Does that happen again? They have to stay healthy. If Landry and Douglas step their game up and the team puts its money were its mouth is regarding defense, then yes, I say they can compete for a championship. Bench-wise, I think they're fine. They'll have Bibby, the rooks, Jeffries (::sigh::), Jordan, and maybe Fields if they wind up signing Crawford via FA. Fingers crossed!!!

I don't think so. My Heat still have a few pieces to go IMO. Shane Battier gives our perimeter D on steroids, but just like the Knicks, we don't have a Point Guard (unless Chalmers/Cole develop into special players) and we don't have a legit big man in the middle (JOEL EFFING ANTHONY/Eddy Curry/Dexter Pittman). At least you guys have a center that will give us trouble, but, you guys need a Point Guard more than we do, Melo is not on LeBron's level of play making IMO.

I think the knicks will struggle early on, but finish off the season strong and have around a .650 winning %. They'll definitely be good, but I'm not ready to say they're championship contenders yet either.

I think they need to improve their bench, and get a decent point guard. If I were the knicks I would try to go after Raymond Felton again. He's no CP3, but I think he was good with D'antoni and he got the job done.

Towards the end of the season Shumpert will emerge as the starting PG. As of now it will be Bibby and Douglas. When Douglas and Iman are on the floor together that's when the Knicks will have there best defense. Iman, Douglas, Melo, Stat, and chandler. Hopefully we can get Jaamal Crawford and have some depth off the bench. We need scoring off the bench, Crawford will fit good.
