I never played the multiplayer, however I did play the single player of avp avp2 and the add-on. I loved the stories and gameplay a lot. They completely missed the target when they picked up the title again and thought they could make a few quick bucks with the new version.

I grew up with this game, and even today it is still one of my favorites, AVP2 was an amazing multiplayer game and I am severely disappointed that the main server for this game was shut down, but with what is said about a Savior mod, I'm comin home :)

@xXxApHeLioN2XX AVP 2 is good as dead, Lithfaq the ones who made avp 2 running again shutdown their own site and no longer gives out the master server patch anymore. But I doubt only 16 or less still play. Hell even the new AVP was a total fail. And the now hardly any people play the new one as well.

WRONG Old games are mostly kept alive by fanatics that play the game every day ,and they allways find a way to make a masterserver ,they made an patch 1.5 mod for a new master server lets say a patch, so its NOT DEAD! use GOOGLE!

Sierra didn't shut down all their servers. In the last year, 2009, somewhere in the middle of it I've played F.E.A.R. online a few times (the CD multiplayer version, not F.E.A.R. combat) with about 4 people. Had a great time doing cool Matrix-style attacks with kicks, punches, dual pistols, grenades, and more :)

So Sierra didn't disable all servers.

I think I've got the two-hundreth comment on this;

I just want to say that although I never owned the full game, the demo was PLENTIFUL in offering the greatest multiplayer experience of my entire gaming life. I had so much fun playing that demo that I never even NEEDED to buy the full game!

After seeing AVP3 news online and gameplay clips on youtube, I am incredibly impatient for it's release in January.

So much so, that I absolutely needed to buy it on ebay, until I got curious and checked out if the servers had been taken down (which, by the looks of it, have obviously been). So I decided not to buy it.

To be honnest, I think AVP3 will be a good test for Rebellion games. If they screw this up, the AVP2 community will definetly throw rocks at them. If they succeed in recreating or even bettering the AVP2 MP experience with this title, they will be praised as iconic heroes!

I'm definetly writting them a letter or email to ensure that they don't botch this! They need to know how high the hopes are for this game, how the MP needs to be flawless. MP adds replay value, single player is a good aesthetic to the game, but MP is the true challenge of gaming.

I suggest and encourage you to do the same in writting to them!

This is like the saddest shit ever (in game history) I cried when I found this. I just installed the game (it's been a long time since I played it) and I entered the cd key and it said something about either my internet connection, or the servers were down.
