The Tom-tom and floortom are pre-international sizes. The 12 inch is undersized by about a quarter of an inch and the 16 inch is oversized by a quarter of an inch.
Hey I've got a 1970's premier but I havent got a clue what it is lool!
Anyway I was just wondering when you tune your drums do you use a drum key or have to use a screwdriver because I have to use a screwdriver to tune mine. I cant see on the vid but I haven't seen any other premier like this. Was just wondering. Nice kit btw =D
It's a 1960 blue pearl Premier drumkit with internal muffling.
The set is complete with two 1951's Zildjian 21" rides and a 13" Hihat. The Tom-tom and floortom are pre-international sizes. The 12 inch is undersized by about a quarter of an inch and the 16 inch is oversized by a quarter of an inch. The kick is 20 inch. All heads are Remo Ambassador, Coated.
I have that kit in Aqua Marine with a full set of 5 star Super Zyns, is your floor tom extra deep? mine is nearly 18" in depth. Beautiful sound!! who needs close micing

wow your snare sounds amazing! I have a jazz festival snare and I really want that kind of vintage snare dum sound, any tips?

@MarkusGronroos
Go for the natural sound of the drum.
Use coated Ambassadors and use the internal muffling.
Play around with these elements until you are satisfied.

I do love me some vintage premiers :)
One question: how do you get that snare sound without any (visible) damping?
lordieuan777 1 year ago
@lordieuan777
It has internal damping.

very nice. the toms kinda remind me of art blakey's sound, but with more attack... (although he played gretsch, I'd rather have your set )
