  • hi @talkingenergy. I have an eon energy fit, but I live in a flat and have multiple live inputs (24hr, offpeak). I probably need some more of the clips (I know the sender can have 3 inputs). Could you please advise where I can get some more clips and how to set it up? ta

  • Hi @benafaulkner Please message the channel with your E.ON account/email/home address details and we can ask one of the energy monitor team to send you some additional clips.

  • @talkingenergy Thanks for your reply to my message re additional clips. I'm sure you are an eon employee but just to be secure, is there some way I can contact eon or perhaps they can email me etc? I'm just concerned about security...

  • @talkingenergy if you only need my email address to look me up on eon systems then i'm happy to post that: benafaulkner@hotmail.com

  • @benafaulkner any outgoing live

  • E-On with happy customers...what a vision!

  • I've removed a comment from @alanmillwall because it wasn't relevant to the content of the video. This user has also posted the same comment on two other videos, which I'll also remove. I've sent a message to @alanmillwall to let him know.

  • My clock loses several minutes per week. The Microsoft SQL package failed to install and fails to uninstall. My computer now takes several minutes longer to boot up, it just sits there with a blank screen. There is a link on the website to a Microsoft tool which will supposedly fix this problem but this is not relevant.

  • Hi @g7txu. Sorry to hear you're software isn't working as it should. I've asked my colleagues in the retail team to help with this and am waiting for their response. I'll get back to you as soon as I have some advice.

  • @talkingenergy I had so reply on this but have resolved the problem myself. The error occurs in machines running XP SP3. MSXML6 SP2 prevents MS SQL Server Express from installing.

The solution is to uninstall MSXML6 and then start the Eon installation again. You may need a removal tool for MSXML6 if it fails to uninstall in 'Add & Remove Programmes'.

  • @g7txu Sorry for not getting back to you with advice from our retail team. If you still need any technical advice or help I've sent you a message with a contact email.

  • lmao got mine today and the reciever dont work, suspect its a psu failure...

  • Hi @tEhNuRsebOb, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the receiver. Please return the entire kit to the address on the box (FREEPOST NAT8560, E.ON, Unit 18 Sandbank Business Park, Dunoon, Argyll, PA23 8BR) with a note explaining the problem and ask for a replacement.

  • my computer software won't install :-S what now???

  • Hi @catontoast Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your software. I've sent you a message with a contact email for one of our team to help you with this.

  • If u r unsure please call us, WTF??? Do u want me to ask u if there is water on my meter?

  • That seems quite useful. How much power does the energy kit need to run? Also the EON rep in the video said 300 watts an hour at 4:28, which is technically an incorrect term :)

  • @Nightzo Hello and thanks for your interest. The monitor uses a little less than 1 watt, which adds up to less than 168w per week which is about 2p per week in cost. The monitor measures the power used in real time. The video shows an increase of 300 watts when the dimmer lights are turned up and the implicit assumption is that if the lights were left on at this level for the next hour, the energy consumed would be 0.3kWh. Hope that clarifies things.

  • @talkingenergy 168W per week? That makes no sense! You mean 1.68kWh per week I think. You really ought to know things like this if your job is to help people understand their energy usage!!

  • Hi @crazytim55 Sorry for any confusion. 1 Watt of power consumption will result in a kWh consumption of 0.024kWh per day or 0.168kWh per week, which will cost about 2p a week.

  • @talkingenergy No, 1 Watt over an hour is one Watt / Hour or put differently 0.001kW per hour.

So at 0.001kW/H this will amount to 0.024kW per day and 0.168kW per week.

You just can't use a figure such as kiloWatt / Hours per day. It makes no sense and shows as crazy Tim suggests that you so not understand the subject you are speaking on.

  • @talkingenergy An ongoing steady power draw of 1W over an hour will result in 1W/H consumption or expressed differently, 0.001kW/H not 'a kWh'
